still had the time period decor but upgraded modern amenities.

The room was very historical. It was like stepping back in time! Beautiful atmosphere, and it was close enough to walk everywhere.
There was one staff member who was incredibly irritable. She gave off the appearance that helping or answering questions was the last thing she wanted to do. Made me feel like an inconvenience. The breakfast in the attached diner was also very cheap in experience but not in price. Paper cups and plates. It became busy very quickly, and I noticed that as soon as we left our table, the waitress showed another couple to it right away... without wiping it or cleaning it.

Being close to downtown

I loved meeting the owners. Our check in was helpful and warm. Our room was small but comfortable and perfect for what we needed. The location is great with the on-site parking is a bonus.
The shower is a little awkward but very useable and unique.

The room was great. Bed was very comfortable. Pop and coffee in the hallway was nice.
Room didn't cool down very much.

Building was older lots of thought and work had been put into restoring it. Owner was so friendly we enjoyed talking to him and hearing the stories he shared. We would definitely return. It was within walking distance of downtown area. We would definitely return.
Nothing to complain about

Loved the history and the decor of the hotel. I would definately stay again when in Deadwood. 1/2 block from main street.

The room could have been a little bigger, If I could have picked it would have been different. Nextime.

The breakfast was wonderful ! The staff was great and the food came out super quick !!
Our room was 80 degrees when we got back from sight seeing ! Apparently it’s because it faced the west! It was a nice day and it did cool off later in the evening !

The location was perfect for staying in Deadwood. We were able to walk to the many other casinos and restaurants which made it very convenient. The room had a surprise - no shower - just a tub - but it was a pleasant surprise. (When you make a reservation, double-check to ensure you have a shower if you need one. There are a few rooms that have tub only - which was fine for our stay.) The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We were in Room 3 - King Size Bed, small corner sink, and relaxing old-time-tub! The staff was amazing - always very friendly - from the front desk to the casino attendants to the wait staff. Melanie (our host) exceeded our expectations with her kindness, professionalism, smile, and hospitality. We will definitely stay here again - the perfect location for staying in Deadwood!

Grand, high ceiling room. Spacious shower. A well kept, older building with charm. Coffee carafe brought up to 2nd floor foyer each morning. Very accommodating staff.
Antique bureaus for clothes storage musty smelling inside. Coffee not available until 7am and I get up at 5:30. Thick haze of cigarette smoke downstairs casino.

Location was great! Owners were short handed as most business are but they were very acomadating.
The television was very small and hard to see. Not a horrible thing because outside and one block away there was plenty of entertainment.

The owners are very good people, friendly and knowledgeable!
