The house was in a lovely location, very peaceful and spacious. As the website points out, it is an old Victorian house, quirky but functionsed well for our family, and warm without the need to light the stove. We loved the dining room table complete with candles

Luv’d it, the house was everything and more than we all wished for. The house clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a long weekend. Our only regret was we didn’t book for a longer stay . We would definitely go back and would recommend staying here to anyone.

Thought there might have been contact from the owners prior to our stay. Lovely old house but disappointed that we needed to wash all the crockery/cutlery before using as residue left on from previous use in dishwasher (?) Only one tea towel provided .. more would have been handy and there was no kitchen towel. Otherwise it was fine.

We went for a catch up with friends and had a lovely break, the property has everything you would need and more and is very spacious. The village inn next door was perfect for not cooking and had a couple of meals here, the views are amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the area, would highly recommend

A spacious and well kitted out property in an amazing location. As keen swimmers we liked having Loch Long on our doorstep and also Loch Lommond a half hour, scenic walk away. The kitchen is well equipped to cook for a big crowd. Our meal at at the Village Inn right next door was lovely and we went back for drinks a few times. All nine of us loved it and would recommend Mansefield House for a great weekend away.

The location is absolutely beautiful the gardens for the house are just lovely too, the house was at first glance everything we had hoped. On our first night we found a bat in one of the bedrooms, not a problem, my son contacted the property owner and she advised us what to do, bat was released later that evening. After a few days we noticed a lot of bees/wasps in the dining room and in the bat bedroom, as this was where 2 of my grandchildren were sleeping we moved them out of there and had them sleeping with parents. There seems to be a nest in one of the chimneys as you could see them from outside flying around the chimney. We told property owner Fiona, on our second to last night of our stay when she popped her head over the gate. We all still had a good time but the bee/wasp thing needs to be sorted out.

Absolutely loved the house, lovely surroundings. Will be back soon hopefully
Had the best weekend staying here. So glad Fiona agreed to let us stay. We were a group of 18 year olds who had tried so many other place that wouldn’t let us stay due to our age. But the owner welcomed us. Will hopefully be back soon, have talked about making this a annual think if they will have us back

Living the dream!
Went to Mansfield House with family to celebrate 60th birthday. House is beautiful and very spacious so you are not all on top of each other. We had an extremely relaxing time. Fiona made us feel most welcome. It is an ideal location for walking, visiting local attractions and enjoying the Village Inn pub next door which is excellent. Would heartily recommend Mansfield House. Hope to be able to return!

An amazing cottage in an amazing setting
We had a wonderful time at the cottage for my 50th birthday. The position was excellent for access to many areas of Scotland so touring was great. The owners are next door but they were almost invisible and we had complete privacy but always in the knowledge they were there if we needed them. The village had great resteraunts and pubs but it did lack amenities, only one local shop but well stocked. Most of all the scenery was beautiful, what a stunning area 360 views and right on the loch.
Would definitely recommend anyone going, family friendly so suitable for all types of holiday. I hope to go back some time soon maybe in the summer to enjoy more walking.

The property was fabulous. Just exactly as decribed. 12 of us headed off for a family celebration and loved every single relaxing minute of it. Even although it rained the whole time...but we are used to that.House sat in a large garden, private driveway overlooking the loch... Fabulous view of the hills opposite and great walks for the dogs on the hills behind the house. I only walked about 30 mins up the hill at the back of the house and the views were outstanding. Property was very clean and tidy and well equiped which was a relief when you are organising a holiday for other members of the family. Everyone loved their rooms and the lounge. We sat mostly at night around the large dining table playing card games while the kids entertained themselves in the many rooms. Fiona who owns the house came and introduced herself when we arrived and was happy to answer any questions we had. Although her and Tom live in separate accomodation at the rear of the property, you would never know they were there and we certainly didnt feel any pressure from them. All in all, a great time was had within a very beautiful house at a beautiful location (only about 30 min from Glasgow on clear run).Thank you Fiona & Tom for letting me in particular live in what would be my dream house for a weekend. xxxxx

There is nothing not to like about Mansefield house. A beautiful house set back from the road overlooking a stunning view of Loch Long. When the snow started on our last morning the view was particularly beautiful. We were a group of 10 friends and absolutely loved our stay there. The rooms are cosy, full of character and sprinkled with beautiful little touches. We made full use of the stunning wood burner in the living room, the pool table, piano, board games and fantastic kitchen for breakfast. On arrival there were fresh flowers and shortbread on the kitchen table. Straight away we felt at home and happy to be there. The house lived up to and exceeded all our expectations. Also worth a note is the Village Inn, just 2 minutes walk from the house. Here they served great food and plenty of beer and mulled wine. Our stay at Mansefield House will be memorable one. I wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend Fiona and her beautiful house. Thank you for having us and I hope we weren't too noisy.

We were a big group of friends and were very pleased with the house. It was homely, pretty, very comfortable, spacious and clean. It is exactly as described in the ad and we had a wonderful time at Mansfield House. The view of Loch Long is beautiful and the entire property is stunning. We thought it might feel a bit crowded as we were 12 but not at all, the house is very large with plenty of space, large bright rooms, etc.I would absolutely recommend this house for big group of friends/couples/families.
