A beautiful part of Scotland to stay in, with lots of information about the surrounding area available for us when we arrived. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed our only issue being that the beds were not very comfortable, despite this we had a lovely stay in a part of the country we had not visited before.

Perfect setting for a celebration weekend for all our family. We cooked our meals and sat around the super size dining table in amazing surroundings. We went for walks as we were lucky to have good weather in March. One of us went cold water swimming!! (Very brave) We played family games, had a pool tournament, celebrated St Patrick's day (we're Scottish, any excuse to celebrate) The Lodge is fully equipped we didn't want for anything We would highly recommend Stronachlachar Lodge and hopefully we can visit again.

Others have said it, I’ll reiterate it: the pictures do not do the property justice! Not only is the property gorgeous and well-stocked, but it is extremely spacious! The views were second to none and access to the café at the foot of the garden, as well as the unspoiled views across Loch Katrine make this a bucket list type property. The owners were incredible from beginning to end and always on hand for whatever we needed. we would love to visit here again and stay, as so many wonderful memories were made as we celebrated Hogmanay with our friends. While Stronachlachar feels remote, it’s just far enough away that you can find yourself again, whilst being close enough to access, whatever you need. It even snowed for us on our trip! Thank you Graham and Cath for a wonderful and memorable experience!

We are 3 generations of family, ages 6-81. We had a wonderful stay. Enough room for everyone in and out of the Lodge. The Pier Cafe is a great addition as there really isn’t anything else close. Inversnaid is lovely for different scenery and the Bunk House had the best food we had in Scotland. Truly amazing dinner and staff. It is a remote area with lots of trekkers/backpackers. If you love the outdoors, and amazing scenery, it’s paradise. If you want to do a lot of touring, you will have to brave the 1 lane road every time, in and out. It is not for the faint of heart. The key to those roads, if you aren’t familiar, is to take your time and stay towards the center. Too far to the outside, you will pop a tire (as we did day 1). Too fast and you can’t adjust without blowing a sidewall. Go slowly around blind turns and switchbacks and seriously, take your time. After the first run of the road, you will feel better on the drive. Take time not enjoy the view, the walks, the natural falls. The boat from Inversnaid to Tarbet and beyond is very nice and a little easier than Stronachlachar since that has only 2 stops at the pier. Loch Lomond has multiple boats and stops to goose from. All in all, my 12 & 14 year olds said it was the best vacation we’ve had. Everyone loved the laid back pace and beautiful views, and the girls even swam almost daily. But yeah- it’s COLD! :)

Stronachlachar Lodge 1 is a Fabulous property, very well-equipped kitchen, great Wi-Fi & selection on tv, super common-areas, pool table and outside spaces. Think refurbished 2022 under new owners. Beds very comfortable, bed linens high quality. So worth the rental. Highly recommend. The reviews just don’t do this property justice, it was magical. Will rent again. Here’s “area info” advice we learned & want to share: take your own bikes & kayak/canoe! Strony Lodge is Not on Trossachs Pier, it’s on Stronachlachar Pier, a £20 boat ride each way between the piers, and Trossachs Pier has the bike rentals so it’s not something you do daily. No kayak or canoe rentals allowed on Loch Katrine. If you don’t have your own kayak, we recommend you Go to charming Luss Village on West side of Loch Lomond and rent water equipment, great time—it’s one hour car drive from house but worth the trip—Good Cullen skink at Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha on the way back. (We were told Inversnaid near Stronachlachar had kayak/canoe rentals for east Loch Lomond but when we got there, no rental place & hotel had no info either. Research that ahead of time.)
