Our room was upgraded, and great spa tub
The chairs were of the time to match the house but uncomfortable

This was a great experience. Had a hot breakfast served at the designated time. There was a beautiful spread of additional breakfast foods to choose from. Ate in the dining room with other guests and the host lead conversation that was inclusive to all guests. The room was private and had all amenities. The decor authentic looking. The bed was comfortable. The host was very personable and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed the room very much and especially the spa hot tub in the junior suites room.
There is a few things that didn't work but we understood because it was an old building an older things in it but we still enjoyed our stay very much!

Loved the old craftsman of the interior.
Some of the furniture in our room was so bad we couldn’t sit on it. Handle on toilet kept falling off.

Architecture, design,, breakfast.
Electrical issues in room and bedroom. Heat light went off and on repeatedly while in tub. Bathroom light over stool and shower off for a few hours. Faucet in sink kept falling off.

Quiet rooms and breakfast was great. Hosts were accommodating. Parking was a bit different having to use parking app. Not a big issue as it wasn’t to busy.
Nothing we had a great time within walking distance to everything we did. I would like to try some of the other rooms in the future. I would like to have a tour of the entire mansion as I am a history buff.

The breakfast was good, the location is close to a lot of things in Dubuque.
We were want an old feel, but we were disappointed by the level of maintenance. Wallpaper held together by painters tape or duct tape.

Everything went better than expected, Robert is a very gracious host.

wonderful victorian historical home. the host was full of the historical knowledge about the city and the original owners which was fascinating
higher floors required more stairs which could be a factor for some folks

Unfortunately I did not see the room. Upon arrival I was told my room was on the third floor with no elevator I could not get myself or my luggage to the room. I ended up finding a first floor hotel room down the road.
The accommodations were not clear that there was flights of stairs to access the room. For older people with severe knee issues this was not acceptable.

Awesome host and breakfast. Location walkable to restaurants and old town Dubuque.
Single pane windows with City building next door emptying dumpsters and shredding paper for an hour+ starting at 5:15 am Saturday morning.

Room and bathroom were spacious. We did not hear our neighbors in the next room. Beautiful building. Breakfast was awesome, very nice presentation and plenty to choose from. The downstairs sitting room was so beautiful and the furniture was comfortable. There was music playing in the evening and at breakfast. Dennis is a very good host and storyteller. He knew the history of the building. Even though the second and third floors were remodeled from a home into a hotel, it still felt like it was all from the original time period. It was an enjoyable experience to stay here.
The drinks at breakfast could have been colder.

Old mansion with a history. We did not have unrealistic expectations, any place this old at this price is going to have some cosmetic issues. It was still beautiful and clean and comfortable. Innkeeper Robert was friendly and had a good sense of humor (think Newhart) and kept us laughing. Location was perfect, close to everything. Breakfast was delicious.

definitely needs some TLC in the room we stayed in but understand that updating takes a considerable amount of money

The building decor was beautiful. The place was very clean and well kepted. Bed was very comfortable. The room was nice and quiet.
I had a chest cold. Some of the air freshers caused a problem for me.

The location was good, and breakfast was good the first day, but pastry on the second day was stale.
We had told the hosts before hand about mobility issues, but when we got there, learned there were many steps - both up to the entrance and our room on the second floor. The bed was comfortable but other furniture was too low and not comfortable.
