We had an absolutely amazing stay! The island is breathtaking, and our accommodations in both the Safai Bure and the Beachfront Bure exceeded all our expectations. There were so many activities to choose from—both free and paid—or we could simply relax on one of the many lounge beds scattered throughout the resort.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the exceptional staff, who truly made our experience unforgettable. A heartfelt thank you to Sami, Sonni, Sala, and Eli for their warmth and attentiveness. We can't wait to return!
Food was average - could have had more flavor. However, there are lots of options to chose from which I appreciate.

The location is amazing, beautiful tents next to the ocean.
Lots of activities offered every day, even some free ones. Loved the talks on sharks and corals.
The bull shark divd is a once in a lifetime experience. Worth it 100%. The dive is used to study them and lead to a couple of articles published on bull shark behavior, they are very careful not to change the shark's behavior which is so important!
Staff is lovely
Found bed bugs in one of the beds in our bedroom (no one was sleeping there and no one had bites so hopefully no harm). They changed us to a different dorm the next day to fully clean and spray the affected dorm, but we learnt that they had known about it about a week prior to our arrival. So I don't know if they didn't clean at all or just not well enough but they remained.
Some beds are very comfortable but others (mainly the metal based one in the dorms) are quite uncomfortable.
Water pressure is quite low in the dorm bathroom.

Best Bure I've stayed in in Fiji. Lovely staff. Good size resort. Reff shark snorkeling is recommended

Very nice resort, easily approachable from Port Denerau. Food was great and staff was very nice. Loved the island vibe. There are two beaches available for the guests and you can even try your first ever dive there without previous experience with the sharks. I did spent my time there in dorm and it was ok! Would come back
I m not the fan of the bunk beds in the dorm

I loved the beautiful staff and magnificent scuba diving. Learning about sharks and coral from resident biologists added an unexpected dimension to the incredible experience that is Kuata. I will definitely be back💚

The dorm are really comfortable, breakfast and lunch delicious, great free and paid activities on site, nice to have a pool and good WiFi
Often no toilet paper available on the share bathroom,
For the price of the meal plan the real coffee should be free at least for breakfast

Excellent resort. Great staff, great food, wonderful garden/swimming pool for just relaxing, and great beach. Rooms confortable and clean enough as well as the rest of the facilities.
Wonderful bull shark diving
Nothing bad to remark

Barefoot Kuata is very charming. The Warrior stands on the rock in the ocean everyday to welcome the ferry. The reef shark snorkel was one of the best snorkels we have ever done. An absolute must. They do offer introductory dives for this. Try do the early one before the day tourists come. If you are a scuba diver then the bull shark dive is a highlight and a must. I didn’t feel unsafe at any point. The new dive shop is almost completed. The swimming pool area has the best view and its great to cool off. Every night the band plays during dinner. Its well worth staying in an ocean front room. There are in house marine biologists and shark scientists. The food is buffet style and really good. No drinks except for water is included. There is a beach bar. They are beginning to build facilities for day trippers only to separate the residents from day trippers which will be better.

Wat een ontzettend fijne plek! Alles was fantastisch; mijn bungalowtent met buitendouche, hangmat en super uitzicht op de zee, het personeel, het eten, de 3 zwembadjes, de activiteiten, de haaien en prachtige vissen. Vinaka!
Er was niets wat mij niet beviel.

We only booked one night here, that was such a mistake! It was breathtakingly beautiful, with the most gorgeous reef to snorkle and admire. The Fijians take such lovely care of it. The food was incredible, and the facilities were impressive. Thank you so much for having us. Vinaka

The very friendly staff that made us feel in a little family and kept us entretained with different activities. We spent 5 nights there and never felt bored. The snorkeling just off the shore was very nice and easily accessible for anyone.
The food was definetily beyond pur expectations.
There was a nice dive shop on site with plenty of water options. We tried everything on the list and highly suggest the awakening of the bull sharks.
That we had to say goodbye!

low value for money, beach not nice

Nice area around the restaurant with pools, hammocks, chairs etc. Diving with bull sharks was a must do. Snorkel area in front of the beach was nice and also fun thing to do.
Distance between the dorms and the restaurant was a long walk. Dorms were in a tent, if it rains, you might hear it pretty well.

The place is in good conditions , bathrooms clean and beautiful, the staff is very kind.
Good coral reef.
No shade on the beach.
No local dishes on the food menu.

Lovely laid-back resort, not too big and it felt more like a local village than a resort. Staff were incredibly friendly. We loved staying in our bure right next to the beach and enjoyed our outdoor bathroom. The snorkeling activities were great - fantastic to see some sharks close up! And there was even a marine biologist to teach us more about them. Food was great, especially the lovo (earth oven) meal. It was the perfect island getaway we were hoping for.
There is only wifi in the bar area, but who needs wifi while watching the waves and the sunsets?

Great island resort. Amazing snorkeling and diving experiences 🦈 and the food is very delicious!

The staff were 50/50.. half the time they were nice and we had fun with them. the other half they seemed off and moody. everything seemed like hard work. Liked they put on a little Christmas show but also it didn’t seem like they planned anything until we arrived and complained on Christmas Eve that they didn’t know what they were doing.
tbh I just don’t really like the layout in general. they could have made the bar area closer to the beach and stuff

Incredibly friendly staff - we felt very welcomed, and we were treated with beautiful singing most days!
Amazing buffet breakfast and lunch, and three course dinners.
Beautiful water and free kayak/SUP/snorkel rental
Best priced bar in the Yasawas
We got a beachfront bure right next to the bar area, and the free wifi was great!
The summit hike was worth it (but very slippery in the rain!)
Base sheet for the bed was a combination of 2 sheets each spanning half of the bed width (a bit strange). No top sheet but got a thick blanket. A top sheet would have been good considering it was really warm

The staff were all lovely and the island itself is just so beautiful.
The vegetarian dishes at dinner weren’t great. My partner one night all I got was mash potato and veggies. The breakfast & lunch buffet had good options for vegetarians though and delicious too.

A great location with great snorkelling at your door. All the locals that work at Barefoot are amazingly nice and friendly and make the place a great experience. The food was very nice and there was plenty of it at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It was disappointing that the focus is on the people who go diving at Barefoot Kuata, we and other guests continually tried to book snorkelling or day trips to visit other islands but were constantly disappointed as they had no boats available as the divers had priority. We and other guests missed out on once in a lifetime experiences due to this lack of organisation and communication. We were told to upsell the tours to other guests as we needed a minimum of 6 people to warrant a boat and a captain. When we did achieve the required amount of people we were told the tours were cancelled more often than not.
This could be simply rectified by having a whiteboard with the tours and times/day with the number of people required and the guests could mark down their interest.
Also if they had an independent person (not the ever disappointing dive instructor Mike) in charge of day tours with access to their own boat and booking it would negate all of the above mentioned issues.
Vinaka.
