This property was clean and comfy. Stocked with everything you could want from a self catering cottage. I really can't find any reason to fault it. Whereas we like to go to different places each time we go on holiday, should we return to Eastbourne, this is where we will be staying!
I can't say they was anything to down-rate this cottage. If I was to be super picky... the rugs on the wooden floors downstairs and in the front bedroom... need to have tape underneath them to stop them moving. The move really easily and if a child jumped onto the rug...as young children have a tendency to do, the rug would easily move and possibly cause the child to fall to the floor... maybe head first!!! So... please... add some tape to the underside of the rugs please!

Good location, two good local pubs, shop, access to sea/ nature etc.
We had to find property in the dark. It is on a corner. Clearer description of its position could be useful.

Great location. Dog friendly.
A little bit tired in places.

The location near pilot inn, meads shops, beach, great dog walking and easy access to town.
The window in the en-suite bathroom was permanently open- looked like it has been broken for a while. It was cold outside, strong winds and so having an open window meant draught through house and doors rattled through the night. Most of the internal doors in the house don’t fit properly or the handles squeak (where’s the oil!) or in the case of the main bedroom door it doesn’t close! Which is v annoying for privacy and draught/ wind rattling. The heating was v limited is the timer out? The shower head over bath flops as you use it. The floors all need a good scrub. The kitchen crockery/cutlery/utensils just had an air of mismatch/grubby. Everything in the house was OK/adequate. But it could so easily be really nice with a spruce up. It was expensive at over £500 for three nights for what it is. Suggestion: the owner sleeps in the house for a couple of nights with some friends…

location superb. two bed, two bathrooms, two toilet. small garden, great for dogs owners.
wardrobe space, linen and towels provided. permits offered for 1.50 a day, very reasonable.
unclean in areas. mainly dust in areas and marks on light switches. Vents particularly need dusting. The bathroom mirror hadn’t been cleaned in the shower room upon arrival.

Cosy home from home in a quiet location with good amenities and comfy beds. Great location five minutes from the sea and a 25 minute coastal stroll into Eastbourne. The Pilot pub is across the road from the cottage they serve good food with great service.
Nothing to dislike

Cottage had everything we needed for a family of four. Great to have a front and back garden to sit in, plus aconservatory.

Lovely cottage and in an ideal location
The WiFi was awful. So slow - like back in the old days. Was the only thing that spoilt the stay.

I loved the location. Great for beachy head and lovely shops and beautiful park (Helen Garden). Nice sunny garden.
Only 4 mugs for tea, 2 of which were cracked and only 4 knives and forks. But this did not spoil it.

The location was excellent, close to the beach with parking right outside. It was very doggy friendly with an enclosed private rear garden
Some aspects of the property would benefit from renewal such as the downstairs flooring. The property is need of a spring clean.

Location was great
The property was not loved. It was very basic and not really home from home. The front door had a weird type of lock and not self explanatory, and no instructions were left about it, hence we did not get in the first night. There was no one who answered the phone or text message after 10 calls and several messages left. We gave up after nearly 3 hours of waiting as it was nearly 10pm and real stormy weather, we also had no car permit.
We found a hotel to stay in so our group got seperated the first night.
It was all sorted the next morning first thing.
We are waiting reimbursement for the night we couldn't get in as that was agreed when we finally had contact and we got a late checkout too.
It was a disjointed excursion but we enjoyed our stay when we finally got in.

Location, comfortable beds, clean
Place needs to be modernized

Property within middle of a small terrace but their was no noise problems from neighbours and the location was ideal. Parking outside was easy as time restrictions meant outsiders vehicles were not a problem as permits required (£1.50 per day).Pub opposite is run more as a restaurant/hotel . The property has been well maintained and was very clean throughout on arrival. Wi fi and TV reception are very good.Facilities all worked the double bed we used comfortable as were the furnishings in the lounge. Toilets on both levels within the house was a bonus and rooms although not large were easy to keep warm with excellent gas central heating throughout and almost instant hot water from the combi boiler. Overall a very pleasant break in a property we would use again as it is close to all amenities shops beach and downs.
The stairs in the property are quite steep and the turn at the bottom is almost like a spiral so care is needed when using them. Fortunately a strong metal handrail runs the full length of the stairway. Property probably dates from the early 1900's so this is to be expected.

Great peaceful location easy parking

Great location for a quieter holiday, walks on the downs and the quiet end of the seafront. A fair walk to the town centre, but quite well served by buses and local shops. Nice little cottage.
It wasn’t ideal that the only toilet upstairs was in the en-suite bedroom and the television reception was intermittent for some channels.

Everything was lovely, on arrival the whole property felt clean and tidy the small courtyard garden is perfect fully secure for our dog. The garden chairs are very comfortable to relax in we have ordered some for home we loved them so much! Great double thickness blinds keeping the sun out in the bedroom which is something often forgotten about in rentals. Great coffee machine! I walked up to tesco and got some nesspreso pods. Beach is just across the road and there is a perfect park for our 5yr old also across the main road. The pilot Inn in front of the house is nice, we sat outside for just drinks as they were fully booked, no noise at all in the evening, definitely recommend for families and friends!
Only very small complaint would be the bedding needs replacing as it's obviously been washed at high temp which is great! but it's bobbly a little uncomfortable to sleep on and the pillows were very thin.

The location
It was all a bit tired. We were a last minute booking in winter so perhaps it hadn't been used for a while but it was cold on arrival and didn't feel fresh. (We could put heating on but needed time to warm up obviously.)
