Spacious, sumptuous rooms.
Lovely outlook.
Serene atmosphere.
Lovely breakfast.

The cleaning was up to standard. The location was gorgeous, peace and quiet.
The fact it wasn’t on suite bathroom, the bathroom was opposite the room, plus no much chose for breakfast (2 option).

The room was lovely and comfortable. The wildlife experience was fabulous. Host was friendly and knowledgeable. Building and location were beautiful.
The wrong breakfast was brought to us. It was sorted out swiftly and cheerfully but unfortunately it (including the pot of tea) was barely warm. There is also
No way of contacting the staff with an immediate problem ie the breakfast. Ringing and leaving a message is unhelpful in that situation.

A beautiful setting, peaceful, surrounded by nature

Perfect location for walking Suffolk coastal path and River Deben, lovely hosts, spacious, comfortable and very clean room.
Nowhere to eat at night, maybe an honesty drinks/fruit/snack bar would be a good idea. Room and bathroom quite chilly.

Loved being able to see badgers, owls, polecats & muntjacks from the bedroom window.
Loved the quality and comfort of the furnishings in the room.
Loved the peaceful location.
The breakfast was first class.
The owner was very welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable & let us enjoy our stay in peace. I am confident that had there been anything we needed to speak about during our stay they would have been available.
The guidebooks were useful - we went to the Ramsholt Arms and had a really nice meal there.

Quirky and full of character
no human interaction at all. we were just left to our own devices.

The breakfast was good apart from having mould on the toast.
Room and bathroom were very clean.
As we had breakfast delivered to our room it wasn't very convenient to inform our hosts of the problem with the toast. We left the pieces of toast out but we received no apology & nothing was said to us.

It is remote, and beautiful. View into the garden to watch the badgers at night and hear the owls - wonderful. We never saw the owners, which suited us perfectly, it felt like being at home. Easy system to access the room. Space for parking. Big table in the room for breakfast delivered to door and it was very good breakfast. Huge room, so much space. Big windows into the garden. Bathroom across the hall also huge, yes you need to exit your room but it is 4 steps away. This place is special and we will definitely stay here again when next in the area.
Very little to say here. It was a little tricky to find although not all that bad but would have been worse in the dark. The front door is a bit tricky to open and heavy. It is a drive to the nearest place to eat so keep that in mind. This place is magical.

Excellent.
Everything and more that we asked for.
Breakfast served punctually and in our room every morning was a bonus.

Extremely comfortable and spacious bedroom with elegant furnishings. I so enjoyed breakfast served in the room….and the breakfast was delicious!
Unfortunately guests are not allowed to use the front garden and I would have loved to have been able to walk on the front lawn and view the house from the front. It would also offer an outside space where one could relax. The view of the garden from the bedroom window is exquisite.

Beautiful location, very comfortable room, excellent view from our window of the garden, delicious English breakfast delivered by trolley in the morning which was a nice touch so that we could enjoy the garden (and in particular the squirrels playing), nice shower too. Unfortunately only stayed one night but staying longer you would be able to make more use of the great walking guide provided.
Used to having an ensuite bathroom but was actually fine crossing the hall and gowns provided too.

It was in a lovely place and we loved the wildlife in the garden, and having breakfast in our room.
The room was a bit cold and the radiator didn’t do much. But they do supply a couple of electric blankets which were lovely, and it is mid December.

Everything about Bawdsey Hall was so efficient, both of the rooms we booked were comfortable and clean with everything you need for a fabulous stay.

Excellent to have breakfast in our room at a pre-arranged time.
Our second visit - a recommendation in itself, and this one was as good as the first.
The wild-life context and the family engagement in our visit.
Having an immediate follow up like this waiting for us the moment we get back home. We are more than happy to tell our hosts how much we liked it, and we would do the same if we found something wasn't right - face to face. That keeps it personal, as it should be.

I loved the peace and tranquility. It was such a comfortable stay. It was lovely to see so much wildlife outside and breakfast was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful country hall.

Loved the location of this place. Lots to see from our room....birds of prey, squirrels, deer...
Loved the Ferry and watching people wave a bat to summon it!
What's not to like. Everything was perfect!

Lovely location, and being able to watch the owls being fed from the bedroom window was lovely. Amazingly fluffy towels, and soft sheets.
A little more information on arrival would be useful. Whilst it may all be in the book in the room a few pointers would be helpful when arriving. For example we were lead to our rooms with our shoes on, and later discovered it was preferred if they were removed. We also inadvertently went for a stroll in the gardens, before reading the information... It is not permitted, but there are no notices saying this..

Lovely peaceful stay in large room with comfy bed and views over the garden. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife at night and listening to their hoots and calls as we lay in bed with the windows open. Generous breakfast and nice fresh linen. Only suggestion for an improvement would be the addition of a hook in the bathroom. Altogether a lovely relaxing few days.
Nothing to dislike

Delicious breakfast and bonus to have it brought to the room. Peaceful, relaxing location.
Ensuite was across the hall from the room. Robes were provided though and I didn't encounter anyone else when nipping across.

Beautiful house and well maintained for its age. Grounds were stunning and the view from our bedroom window was awesome. We did the evening photo shoot and were not disappointed. The fabulous owls kept us entertained and we got stung fabulous shots of the owls. Certainly worth the money. David is an excellent host and his knowledge and advice was extremely helpful. Thank you.

Good breakfast delivered to room
Big TV
Not accommodating for walkers due to no evening meals and no offer to take you to any venue which does food. Which in my vast experience of walking in remote areas hosts usually do or arrange taxis for one or both trips. Therefore after paying £130 for a bed and eating pot noodles after walking 23 miles in the day, I was not impressed. Communication to the hosts was also bad as they don't answer the telephone and took 2 days to reply but insist they use their web app.
Freezing cold bedroom, bathroom across corridor and one coffee sachet for the night to keep me warm!

Lovely friendly host and a great location. Room was big and really nice. Would love to return some time soon.
The only minor downside was crossing the hall to the bathroom
