The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were some very nice touches, such as bottled water and fresh milk in a fridge in the room to have with the good selection of teas and coffee. The meal I had in the restaurant was very good. Bed comfortable, and warm bedroom and bathroom.
It might have been better to have some thicker curtains in the bedroom.

I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who likes down to earth people. The staff should teach other establishments on how to treat there customers. The food is excellent and all home made. Even if you are not staying here, you should go along for the Sunday roast, but you will need to book a table as it is in high demand. They also do take aways. Finally l would like to thank everyone who l met whilst there. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT EXCELLENT.
Thank you.
Regards Keith.
That l had to leave. Next time I will stay longer.

Good size room at the top of the hotel. Tea, coffee etc provided with fresh milk and little bottles of milk. Room fine - nicely self contained with en suite bathroom. Had to request log on to Private wifi and Ship Hotel wifi was asking for a Network code which apparently no longer works. - but i got wifi in the end which was all that mattered Bar is very much a sports bar rather than a place to sit and replace but it was fine and the jacket potato i had for lunch was really good.
Smell of fried food all the way up the stairwell. This did not transmit into the room though which was fine but as soon as you entered the stairwell it smelt really horrid. Could do with shutting the door to the kitchen/dining room and organising extraction elsewhere.

large airy room with own bathroom all spotless clean and in good state
no double glazing so front facing room had traffic noise

Lots of drawers to put things.
Plenty of tea, Coffee and hot chocolat and, Bottles of water.
Nicely furnished and a comfortable bed.
Bathroom had lots of towels and mats.
40 steps up to accommodation but that's easy to get used to.
4.2
Good room and facilities and friendly staff
Lack of parking. A little bit awkward
4.2
Large room with fridge and kettle. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk.
Note in room saying it was fine to bring in food, even a take away, they would even provide cutlery, which was very thoughtful.
Nothing fancy but everything functional.
Bit chilly, but there was a fan fire which heated it up quickly.
As a single woman it's a bit wierd going through a crowded "blokey" bar to get to your room, but everyone was very friendly.

Great location, friendly pub downstairs.
Lovely food served in either the restaurant or pub.
Would have been nice to have a top up on tea/coffee and biscuits.

Our third stay here to visit family and we'll keep coming back. New power points -with USB ports - excellent! Comfortable, clean, spacious room, warm, fridge with fresh milk and bottled water provided (plus tea, coffee, hot choc, cappuccino biscuits etc). Nice little touches. Staff really friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the pub atmosphere and food. Location is perfect for us - in middle of town with buses & rail station so we don't have to drive everywhere. Our room was The Clipper which fronts the main road through town. We're used to a bit of traffic noise so no problem for us but we take ear plugs with us everywhere we go - just in case - didn't need them. Although no private car park, we use St Saviours - a short walk away and £5 for 24 hours weekdays. Check St Saviours website for weekends - it's cheaper on Sundays. For the price, exceptional value hotel. Thank you Ship Inn.

Extra touches in the room like fresh milk and water. Staff very welcoming and friendly, quiet nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Room a little old fashioned decor wise but very clean and homely. We will stay for breakfast next time as it smelt very good! We had a drink in the bar and the staff were very nice. Thanks!
