Lovely cosy cottage.
Lovely cosy cottage. Everything we needed for a lovely weekend break. Well stocked kitchen with ample dishes, pots and pans and utensils etc. Comfy beds, if a little creeky. My girls loved the farm. The horses were a big hit. Owners very friendly and happy for you to interact and ask questions about the animals- cows, horses, chickens and dogs. Definitely need wellies though as very muddy. The only concern I have about the cottage is that some of the upstairs windows did not have safety catches on them so opened very wide. I would be worried about the safety of that with young children. I'm sure that can be easily fixed though.

Great location, very friendly on the farm, even my young nieces made friends with the young girl there. Great for the kids with the chickens roaming and seeing the horses so close. Even the cats were really friendly. Very quiet location, but only a short drive from Matlock. Would definitely go again.

This is a lovely cottage in an amazing, secluded and relaxing location with fantastic views.
This is a lovely cottage in an amazing, secluded and relaxing location with fantastic views. The kitchen and living room are good sizes and well-equipped. We had 6 adults and a baby staying and they didn't feel cramped. There is lots of outdoor seating space for relaxing.
Nearby, Matlock is a lovely town, and it's close to lots of areas of interest.
The only 'downside' was that the water pressure is a little temperamental, I think due to the fact the water is supplied direct from a spring. This means that the shower or taps can sometimes cut out whilst you are using them. It wasn't a major problem, however, as the water returns after a minute.

This is such a beautiful cottage & so well furnished.
This is such a beautiful cottage & so well furnished. It deserves to be booked out constantly as it is a real gem. Definitely one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. If you have children they will love to see the horses, chickens , cats and dogs on the farm. The cottage is in a great location with only a short walk to Cromford canal with its lovely walks and barge trips. For historical interest the Cromford Mill is equally only a short walk away and worth a visit. Cromford itself is only about a 15 min walk with lovely pubs, great fish and chip shop ( Robinsons which defintely was the best cooked fish I have ever tasted) , Scarthin books ( one of the oldest book shops in the uk)is also a must visit & apart from great new & old books has a lovely little cafe on the 2nd floor. In addition Cromford offers some great little antique shops. The cottage is also close to some great walks, the lovely walk up through Bow woods to Alison Uttleys farm Castle top is lovely. Nearby Matlock Bath offers lots of family attractions, defintely go to the Mining museum it is one of the best interactive museums we have visited & our children found they were not too big to enjoy crawling through tunnels & up and down ladders), the Heights of Abraham with its cable cars and fascinating mines/ caves is also worth a visit ( although for a family of 6 bring deep pockets & sandwiches ) The 'F'coffee shop opposite Matlock bath station was also a huge hit with our teens offering lots of flavours of hot chocolate & exotic shakes drowning in goodies ( the coffee was good too though) Bakewell and the beautiful Dovedale are also accessable by car , making this cottage a great base for so many of Derbyshires attractions rain or shine ( and we certainly had our share of rain & still loved it). Matlock is the nearest big supermarket and offers everything you need & is easily accessable in the car. The cottage itself is very pretty. It was a huge treat to sleep in a four poster bed with a lovely view of the field of horses from the window. The cottage is well equipped with kitchen equipment ( so much better than most holiday homes) and the welcome little tray of coffee, tea and milk etc was such a welcome treat after a long journey. There is no wifi in this cottage, but for those of us with teenagers that was very welcome & we actually had some great family time laughing & playing board games etc. But if you want wifi just fire up your personal hotspot or save up your data & all is fine. The cottage owners are very friendly & they deserve so much praise for creating such a beautiful cottage. It is wonderful to find somewhere that suits a family our size & I would defintely reccomend it to other large familys or groups of friends. Go on book it! You won't be disappointed!

We have recently come back from a fantastic joint family holiday.
We have recently come back from a fantastic joint family holiday. The cottage is very well equipped, and plenty large enough for our 2 families. Very close to local amenities (and excellent fish and chips!) while still quiet and tucked away.
So peaceful and quiet, and just a brilliant getaway. We’re already trying to find dates we could come again next year.
Thanks for a wonderful stay x

Weekend Stay
Ideally placed as we were attending a family wedding near by.
Cottage clean and well fitted out and had numerous outside seating so able to catch the sun at all times.
Enjoyed being on a working farm and the fresh eggs every morning for breakfast.
Owners very pleasant and helpful, would definitely recommend the cottage.
