A 17th-century sandstone farmhouse with a private hot tub (for hire), shared swimming pool and private fishing rights, only 4 miles from the coast.. Ground Floor:

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Biomass central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Fuel for open fire available locally. Cot and highchair. Z-bed for child available. Garden with garden furniture. Hot tub (private, £50 per week, £30 per short break). Indoor heated swimming pool (shared, 5m x 12m, depth 1m) with Jacuzzi and sauna, available for private use mornings and afternoons at selected hours by prior arrangement. Paddock area (shared). Set on the edge of a village ,this cottage is set ideally for exploring the Solway coast , Cockermouth , Keswick and the northern fells and lakes, enjoy the stunning scenery without experiencing the same hustle and bustle of the central Lakes. Finished to a very good standard, the cottages have everything you need for family getaways including a hot tub (for private hire), also with in walking distance there is a heated swimming pool available too hire privately on line . The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. These include Halls Bank Farm ref 1319 sleeps 8 , Berwyn Bank ref 15825 sleeps 12 , Beckside (ref 17926) sleeps 2 all on the same site . The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

This is a lovely comfortable cottage, with plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 2 children and 2 dogs.Our grandson has special needs and often doesn’t sleep, but he slept like a log here, meaning we all overslept . It had everything we needed. We had a few issues with heating and water in the showers but the owners were with us within an hour to sort things out. They were lovely and very welcoming. The pool is a wonderful facility and having it to ourselves for an hour twice a day was brilliant. We had a hot tub in the garden but didn’t use it as there is an additional charge. We used the one in the pool area instead. Not really any walks around the property but plenty within driving distance. The Masons Arms, a short drive away, is very welcoming and the food is great. There are food shops in Aspartia a 10 minute drive and a petrol station. Supermarkets can be found in Cockermouth. We were lucky enough to spend half term here before lockdown. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and we had a fabulous time at Halls Bank during a very wet October half term. Having 2 allotted times for the pool every day worked really well and allowed for time to enjoy day trips out. There was plenty to do in the surrounding area in particular a stunning walk through Dodds Wood. The owners are so helpful and friendly we are looking forward to going back again! Booked cottage for 4 days party of 9 but due to covid 19 only 6 were able to go. Cottage in lovely location, plenty of equipment in kitchen. Swimming pool, just across from cottage, used one hour morning and one hour afternoon. then into hot tub which was at the bottom of the garden. Garden fenced in if taking a dog with you. Really enjoyed staying here with 4 teenagers. The hot tub and pool were great features for all. Lovely house with own garden and great views. Pub and shop approx 2 miles. Owners very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return

We had a wonderful holiday at hall bank, our house was spacious, well equipped and most importantly comfy beds!! All mod cons are catered for including a large oven and good WiFi. The addition of the swimming pool was well received by the whole family and having our allotted times to swim meant we could enjoy the pool privately. I would highly recommend this property and you will receive a very warm welcome.
