I've stayed here for a couple of years in a row whilst attending a conference. The property is very comfortable and in a super quiet location with wonderful views over farmland. The only thing I'd say is there's one breakfast bowl but obviously a very minor gripe lol:)

Loved the quiet and tranquility, perfect to unwind and “get away from it all” plus, the owners customer focus was outstanding. Cottage has wonderful views and is very well maintained. Really enjoyed our stay.

Dodging the storms
Had a short break, we managed to dodge Durley, danced with Eunice and got hit by Franklin!! Saying that had a great break in a super clean and cosy hut. Would recommend 100% and we came home with a gorgeous lemon drizzle cake, whats not to love xx

Despite a couple of harsh scores above, we absolutely loved this place and the owners are super.
Despite a couple of harsh scores above, we absolutely loved this place and the owners are super. It's exceptional value for money, as long as you don't expect the Ritz! If you like peace and tranquility, we've yet to find anywhere better in the UK (though we were lucky in that the other lodge on the site was unoccupied for most of our stay). Could just do with a bit of TLC in places, i.e. the veranda, which looks beautiful in the pictures but in reality is in desperate need of a rub down and coat of varnish. It was lethal in the wet.... The main oven didn't work either, so lucky we weren't a big family - the grill/oven sufficed fine, for us!
Overall, a cracking, good value place which - if they only allowed dogs - we'd happily revisit. Definitely a good find.

Excellently presented cottage, everything one could need was there.
Excellently presented cottage, everything one could need was there. Well situated for our visit to friends in Derby. Weather not good but always a pleasure to retreat to the cottage. Very quiet! Good local pubs for eating out.

We really enjoyed our stay at field lodge, we didnt even miss the wi-fi.
We really enjoyed our stay at field lodge, we didnt even miss the wi-fi. There were just a few little things that could have been improved. The first the temperature of the shower was not high enough even on the highest setting. The second is the driveway leading to the cottage has a big hump in it and on our way out fully laden our exhaust caught on it and we had to have the middle of it replaced after getting home. Besides this it was a great stay and we would go again and recommend it to others.
