Friendly, helpful staff and the parking is a bonus.
Breakfast was really good - excellent choice and well cooked and presented. Staff were extremely helpful, carrying luggage, giving information and offering help. The car park is joined on to the property and there is an entrance door into the Hotel and this floor is also served by a lift.
It was a shame that the restaurant was closed the night we were there - unfortunately they had no bookings. The rooms, whilst adequate and comfortable, were a little old fashioned.

Location is everything
- Reception staff was very polite - location was excellent (10-12' walk from centre, 10' walk from seafront, opposite from towner art gallery) - had some coffee/tea/hot chocolate available in the room - car park is a bonus (but there is NCP about 10' walk away, also street parking was easy for me over weekend, not sure why people complained and I was even on the bonfire night) - I spotted a couple of lounges as well as external tables with chairs (even though I didn't use them as I stayed for only a night, they seemed like great bonus for longer stays)
- Seemed clean but spotted some hair here and there (shower, duvet) which did not make me confident it was super clean. - same hand soap and shampoo and body wash was off putting, it would show more care to customers to choose those with a bit more care than refill them with the same thing - Heating was on at maximum when I arrived which made the room extremely warm and took quite a while to bring the temperature down. I switched the radiator completely off the whole night and it was fine. Unnecessary power spent, if it was to be on, it would be good to at least no have it in max. - found it a bit too expensive for what was offered

Can’t wait to come back, this hotel deserves more than three stars from the AA
Really surprised by this hotel. Beautiful touches, and really thoughtful staff. You can tell that an establishment is well managed by the attitude of the staff, because they will be invariably cheerful and enthusiastic about their work and this was the case here. I’m sorry I didn’t photograph my breakfast! It was absolutely stunning. Everything is hand cooked to order. My bed was so comfortable I didn’t need my sleeping tablets. My room was absolutely huge and had everything in it I needed, including a hairdryer and an ironing board which was surprising. Lovely and clean, intriguing old house, beautifully kept. Wish I had spent more time in the lounges or in the bar. I will come back as soon as possible.
Nothing at all, it was great. The location is excellent. The only thing is that there were lots of drunk people screaming outside in the street in the early hours of the morning, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel and was completely out of their control.

Good location and well run hotel
Room was very comfortable and a great breakfast the following morning. Location great for the Congress Theatre and some restaurants very close by. Check in staff very helpful in explaing how the car parking arrangements worked.
We didn't realise the bar was still open when we got back from the Congress Theatre just after 10:30 pm.

Great location, lovely helpful staff and good value for money
Bit outdated but no issue - everything was still nice. Just not “modern”
