Decor and location. Breakfast supplies.
Rooms too hot. Wifi bad. Toilets don’t flush. Food expensive.

Very friendly and clean

The staff were all - from bar staff in the pub to the housekeeper - unbelievably friendly and helpful
Breakfast was disappointing. As this was a pub with excellent food I was hoping for a cooked breakfast and was disappointed to find it was shop bought muffins, a little bag of muesli, a satsuma and a fruit yogurt in the fridge inside the wardrobe, put there the night before. Really underwhelming.

Location. Quiet but easy walk to town
9.0 / 10.0
Good location in a quiet residential area, but only 10 minute walk into the centre of Winchester. Friendly staff and a good sized comfortable room.
It is a popular and busy pub, so if you want to eat then probably advisable to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Despite the business (especially at the weekend) it was well-staffed and efficiently run.
Nit-picking really, but the staircase is a little narrow, and the on-street parking can get busy at peak times. Other than that, very very little to complain about.

Comfortable large room, friendly staff. Over a popular pub, but no issues with noise in room. Didn't eat there but was very busy with food orders and it did look good.
Would have been nice to know car parking advertised was on road with permit, it would have saved driving round looking for pub's car park!

Parking was easy - permit given on arrival- Lovely room - had dinner which was fantastic
On arrival - no one acknowledged us for some time- stood waiting for a while.

Good location close to city centre.
Breakfast was in the room. Muffin, yoghurt, granola and juice. No alternatives. No hot food. This should be on their description. Decided on a meal first night after seeing menu on their website. Nothing like what was available and no meals on a Sunday after 6pm.

eating an evening meal. service poor. food disappointing.
6.0 / 10.0
Lovely staff, clean, spacious room and bathroom. Fresh milk in room fridge. Meals available in evening.
No car park. No hot breakfast - only muffins, a piece of fruit, yogurt and granola provided in room. I personally, don’t enjoy/like this for breakfast.
On checkout the pub was locked. Leaving the building through the fire exit meant we couldn’t get back in to leave the parking permit - which we had to push under the door.

one night only, but room and breakfast excellent.
everything was really good

While the room was small, it was comfortable & was not impacted by sounds coming from the Pub below.
It's a fair walk to the center of Winchester. Probably 1/2 mile. Parking is provided through a permit for street parking and not the venue's own parking spaces.

Location. Towels were good.
Although room was small and we booked that, it lacked organisation over issues such as luggage, short clothed wardrobe.
Room cold on arrival on coldest day and low heating could have been put on early.

Debbie (bar staff) provided an exceedingly warm welcome and excellent ongoing, friendly service.
The décor was eclectic and interesting; everywhere you looked there was something to delight the eye.
Food was gorgeous.
A pity there was no hot breakfast available. What was provided could not be described as continental - no bread, cheese or hams, just cereal and yoghurt. For the cereal and teas and coffee, a little more milk would have been nice.

Staff delightful and helpful
Clean and interesting traditional pub with guest rooms
Bed a bit lumpy . Simple but tasty continental breakfast in room
Kettle needs descaling
Interesting trek into the centre of Winchester took about 15 mins
10.0 / 10.0
Good sized room with plenty of space and amenities. Powerful hot shower. Effective heating and extra bedding if needed.
The breakfast muesli, tea/coffee tray and milk in the mini fridge (usually have to ask for extra milk).
It was a nice breakfast but maybe a couple of choices would be good. Recently been diagnosed as a diabetic and could have done with some low sugar options, but to be fair I didn't mention it to the hotel as I'm not used to thinking I have dietary requirements. They were very freindly and I am sure they would have done something if I had asked.
