The room was lovely and the whole hotel is steeped in history

Proximity to Waddesdon Manor, very attractive village, attractive hotel , nice looking room, attractive bathroom, lovely looking gardens and very good hotel food. The breakfast was very tasty and enjoyable
There was not much value in our room rate. I felt if you want to charge £195 a night for a small double room, not in main hotel and overlooking the car park, there should be more luxury in the bedding and towels - the linen was ordinary and the towels were not fluffy! Also we only got given one pack of biscuits between two and one sachet of hot chocolate, what is point of that?

The room was large and very clean. Great size bathroom and it was lovely to have fresh water to drink.
The bed was comfortable but we would have liked the choice of an extra blanket

Lovely hotel. Lovely location. Staff were more than helpful. I particularly liked the dyson hairdryer
I enjoyed my whole stay....

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Room very comfortable, if a little small. Restaurant and food all really very good. Ideal location for visiting Waddesdon Manor. Very helpful staff.
Would have preferred a slightly larger room.

This was our third stay. The room (room 5) is very well proportioned and has a balcony, which would be great if we'd had more time to use it.
The hotel is on a main road – no problem for me, but might be an issue for other guests. If so, ask for a room facing the courtyard.

Nice rooms, good location, friendly staff
No airconditioning
Rather expensive restaurant, did not meet expectations. Breakfast was ok.

Dinner was excellent.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The bed was soft, the bathroom was high quality, the fittings were good.
Our experience in the restaurant was very disappointing. We were constantly pressured by the head waiter to place our order for our main course. It was a Saturday night yet at 7.55pm he threatened us that the kitchen was closing in a few minutes and that we had to place our order before the cooks went off duty.
I repeat, this was at 7.55pm on a Saturday night when the restaurant was almost full. We should not have been put under this pressure when we were sitting down to a very expensive meal, a night out that we had both been looking forward to for over a month. I don't believe the head waiter was telling the truth about the kitchen closing at that time. What kind of smart restaurant closes its kitchen so early on a Saturday night? This incident ruined the evening for me. I did not like being forced to make a choice before I was ready.
