Nice location. Lovely historic house. Bed comfortable
House was cold. Fire lit only in the evening in the entrance area. Other lounge and dining area very cold. Very noisy and person in room above walking about late and early morning causing floor to creek loudly. Room given did not match booking.com photo

Friendly staff
Ambience and welcoming
carrying luggage up the stairs

Fantastic historic house and close to all amenities but a little up market compared to what we are use to so we felt a little out of place. The staff we encountered we absolutely wonderful, allowing us to drop our bags early so we could do the river cruise not having to worry about the security of our luggage. If you want a bit of historic class this is the place for you.
Harley Davidson Australia club deciding to have the same weekend in town as we did, kind of stuffs the nice quiet ambience of the place.

Customer service was excellent , Lincoln the manager was so friendly , helpful and full of information .He is a real people person and a credit to the business.
Location was a little far away from town for walking on a cold winters night.

Beautiful old manor. Quick walk to town.
Only one restaurant opened in whole town

An interesting place. The amount of clutter on the dresser top above the over stocked fridge was astounding. It reminded me of a petrol station counter that was covered in chocolates and snacks etc. The bar was packed with all sorts of drinks including a $140 bottle of wine. The little toy that was to be put outside the door to indicate "do not disturb" had a sale price on it. The bar down stairs was stocked with some marvelous whiskeys but there was no one to serve you. The bed will suite anyone who loves an ultra soft smothering mattress. It all seemed a bit pretentious.
Someone on hand to serve from the bar. A mattress that doesn't try to smother me. Less point of sale items in the room.

Beautiful restored property, lounge with fireplace, wonderful service from Lincoln, central location between station and harbour
Water pipes were a little noisy

Nothing breakfast was terrible hard stale pastries.

As soon as we arrived I was very excited to see such a beautiful house and was looking forward to our stay. The minute we parked the car Lincoln was there to greet us with so much genuine pleasure and it just kept getting better. Lincoln kept using the phrase “it’s a home first” and that is exactly how we felt. We will definitely be back. Thank you Lincoln for making our stay so memorable.
The bed as the mattress was far too soft.

the rooms were comfortable and well equipped. The style of the residence, being a heritage house with interesting history. We enjoyed breakfast. It is a great location. We loved the walk up to Hogarth Falls which is close by.
nothing.

It was a 35deg day and there was no AC and the fan that we received to combat the heat was so noisy we turned it off.
However, the staff went looking for a fan that was much quieter.

Beautifully restored heritage (1890s) house, in excellent condition. the rooms were very well maintained, clean and comfortable. We only met the on-site 24 hr. manager but he was fabulous, very concerned with the comfort of his guests, very helpful and a great source of information about the town.
There was nothing we didn’t like about this property

Excellent breakfast, comfortable setting, relaxed atmosphere. A very comfortable stay in a lovely town.
Nothing really. It's a really well-run establishment.

Room and facilities were great.
Lincoln ( the on duty manager )was friendly .
Location just next to the Hogarth Falls and a bit up the road from Regatta Point one way and town the other was perfect.
Having to move on.
We could have stayed a bit longer.

We liked the location and outlook of the manor. We also thought the breakfast was great (especially the pastries). The sitting room was also a nice place to enjoy some wine with an open fire.
The bar was closed one of the nights, and some more options for food or experiences within the manor would be great.

booking online was so easy and from the start I was hooked. the majestic look of the manor I immediately fell in love with and to see it in person was even more spectacular. Chris & Leanne the new owners and the staff could not be more accomodating to help and make us feel so welcome and comfortable. Strahan is a beautiful paradise on the west coast of Tasmania with the Manor so close within walking distance of the main street facilities. Continental breakfast was fresh and filling with the fresh danish every morning as an extra bonus. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with the option of heating if you wish to travel in winter. all sitting rooms are comfortable with open fireplaces which makes it even more attractive especially for those cold nights and the view out the big bay windows of the back verandah into the garden with the huge pine trees is so calming. Without a doubt, Franklin Manor exceeded all my expectations and more of a grand old lady over 100 years old.
