Perfect for couples

A beautiful traditional Tassie shack right on the waters edge. Perfect location, well stocked and comfortable.

A very small negative was a couple of the items of food left to use were out of date/not useable ie butter and ice cream.

Fantastic getway location.

Fantastic little cottage in the best location! Beautifully restored miners cottage, all the mod coms, super comfy bed, very friendly and funny flock of ducks to greet and entertain you! Jay was very responsive and helpful. Very peaceful and highly recommended. Great tavern for excellent meals just a couple of minutes away. We loved our stay.

The stay here was just great. Terrific location, clean and cosy and extremely generous gifts including wine, breakfast makings and even a face mask to complete the soak in the wonderful bath.

perfect interlude on a busy trip, an extra night unfortunately was not an affordable option

the cottage was just as the pictures indicated and the amenities were very generous - so nice we didn't want to use them! of course the ducks rated a big tick, were very friendly and a nice greeting each time the door was opened

A mirror in the bedroom would be handy and bath robes - a heating option in the bathroom would be welcome on the cold days/nights. all the little touches of comfort though were there which made it very special. Could not operate the coffee machine no matter how hard we tried!

Loved the location and the quirkiness of the cottage and surrounds. The supplies provided for a variety of activities were a lovely touch and we played the little wooden 3D Os&Xs game which was fun. Given the time we were there, the electric blanket was a welcome addition.

Totally not the fault of the hosts, and don't mind the ducks at all, but it's a shame they leave their calling card on the porch, especially in cooler months - makes it a slippery walkway.

Possibly the highlight of our whole Tasmania holiday

What a surprise! Thoughtfully and creatively appointed. beautiful location. The ducks were a pleasant addition to the ambience. The bathtub was a welcome addition after the drive from Hobart. The well-stocked kitchen was a welcome addition to the experience.

I suppose the downside of so many ducks was the duck poo we needed to clean off our shoes every time we came indoors. The town of Strahan needed a bity of research to locate good eating options. they exist but are not necessarily the most obvious options.

Horrible! Refund required immediately

NOTHING!!! WE ARE SEEKING A REFUND. This is false advertisement when it indicates "delux" as the room did not have simple amenities like toilet paper, the flies were atrocious and the small pedistall fan did nothing in the heat.

The fact that no toilet was no toilet paper The heat made it uncomfortable to be inside and you could not sit outside due to the MANY hover flies swarming you. We are seeking a refund as we did not stay at this residence and had to seek alternative accommodation. We have not received a response to our refund request as yet!!

beautiful location on the waterfront. children loved greeting the ducks near the back porch. Very cosy inside. staff very helpful when we locked keys inside.

stove was out of service during our stay which was quite disappointing as we arrived with food to cook and ended up having to throw the meat out.

Incredible views and great terrace with work needed for a stay that does not disappoint.

The location of the property is superb in terms of water views. The sizeable terrace was a highlight and we spent most of our time sitting out here enjoying the view and tranquil setting.

The cleanliness of the bathroom must be highlighted- the shower needs to be re-siliconed and sprayed for mould as it was gross to use. The overall cleaning efforts in the bathroom and kitchen were also debatable, with dirty toilet and food encrusted utensils. Other nice to have’s would have been paper to accompany artists materials provided, coffee pods for the coffee machine. Some other disappointments included broken hooks, hole in the kitchen wall, general interior painting, cracked glassware, untidy cupboards, dirty windows and window dressings to name a few.

There’s something really special about this place. Something here resonated with me on a deeper level. Lettes Bay, the sound of the wilderness stream train chugging along in the distance and the horn of the Gordon river cruise going past, the waddling of ducks on your doorstep and the feeling of time being still. After 18days around Tasmania, this place set the bar and I could not stop thinking about it.

bathroom needs better ventilation/fan.

Great little place!

Great location, tucked away, very peaceful and enjoyed the daily visit from the local ducks!! Great kitchen and outdoor seating.

Place was a little dirty when we arrived (I had to use the vacuum to run over the floor). The lounge area would benefit from a foot rest for the couch to put your feet up and relax on a cold winter night.
