The facilities were really great, and we appreciated the spacious shower. They were all built to a high standard, and it was very cosy & clean
I would have like the property to be a little bit more private. On our first night the neighbours had a fire outside with several people and it made me feel like I was going to be interloper into their evening if we went out onto the deck. It will be so much better when the fire pot is back. As much as the ducks were great, they were a pain if you wanted to leave the door open for some fresh air as it was an amazing summer day when we stayed.

Very cute and well-appointed fisherman's cabin in a spectacular location on the waterfront of Lettes Bay, and set closely amongst other similar cabins. Resident ducks roaming outside were a novelty. Host Michelle was friendly and helpful. Lots of supplies are in the cabin such as fresh bread, butter, jams, Vegemite, teas, pod coffee machine.
Bleach smell from prior cleaning was a bit overpowering for a day or two, and we couldn't air the place out as it was raining and windy. The cabin is VERY small, especially the seating arrangement. You wouldn't want to be overweight at all as the two seater lounge chair is tiny and does not comfortably fit two people in it, tends to dip in the middle and make you lean against each other. Overall, the cabin is cute and lovely, but probably a little overpriced for what it is.

We had an amazing stay at Salt Box Hideaway. The location is perfect, only meters from the water, it truly is a small piece of paradise! The hideaway is only small but feels so much bigger, the room is spotlessly clean, warm thanks to the lovely heater and the bed is comfortable. The owner Michelle has thought of everything to make your stay perfect! If we are ever fortunate to return, Salt Box Hideaway will be on top of our list!

The family of ducks were gorgeous.
The seal playing in the harbour was great entertainment.
A lovely peaceful place not far from the restaurants etc in Strahan
Neighbours dog… but you can’t help that!

Our second time staying at Salt Box was as good as the first. This time we stayed two nights to be able to better enjoy the local offerings. Though small, this little piece of paradise packs a punch. The bed is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with every detail thought of. Being at the water's edge and hearing it lapping onto the shore is a real treat. We will be back!

Salt Box Hideaway was an amazing little retreat for myself and my partner. We spent only 2 nights there, and wish it could've been longer. Staying out of season meant we got to experience the quiet and rainy side of Strahan. The Hideaway isn't far from the IGA in town, and the Tracks Cafe was a great place for coffee and lunch. Inside was incredibly cozy, the bed was nice and comfy, and the kitchen was really well stocked with condiments etc.
The location is the little hideaways selling point. The rain cleared on our last morning and it was absolutely breath taking.
There are also some little duck friends that will probably come and visit!
Nothing. It was perfect.

The waterfront location is enough in itself. The unit was cozy and beautifully fitted out. We are thankful we got to enjoy Strahan and then have this place to come home to was magnificent 🙌
It's perfect

Loved everything about this place. Well appointed and comfortable, all in a perfect, peaceful location.
Michelle was a great host, responsive and providing lots of relevant and helpful information about the accommodation and surrounds. The ducks were a beautiful surprise.
Had dreamed of staying here for three years and this truly unique experience did not disappoint.

This place was simply amazing! Sublime! A beautiful cosy tiny home and perfectly appointed.
The host sent very clear, helpful and constructive information to make our stay as wonderful as it could possibly be.
We should have booked for much longer. It pained us to leave after only two nights. We loved it so much.

definitely not worth $600 plus for two days
would like to get a refund seeing I could not even get my luggage in there

Compact and cosy right on the waters edge. Lovely views and very peaceful.
Nice to sit on the deck with a cuppa. The wild ducks came to visit which was cute.
Yummy breakfast provisions provided.
Well set up for a small space with everything we needed.
5 min drive into Strahan.
Michelle was very responsive and helpful
No parking next to the cottage. There is street parking nearby.

Great ambience. Games for poor weather. Well supplied pantry.
Parking away from cabin but it's location couldn't be improved. Rancid butter packs (may have been left out of fridge at some stage). Tight, but wonderfully cosy.

you could see the sunrise from the window.
a bit small, bbq was not available, tried to contact the housekeeper, no response.

We loved everything about it. Clean, well eqipped and gorgeous location. We loved having a port outside by the fire pit. The bed was so comfortable.

The shack was fantastic. We arrived just as it started raining and as the mist descended across the bay this only added to the charm of the property. The Shack had everything that we needed and we only wished that we could have stayed longer. Host was wonderful and helpful. We will definitely back again for another stay!

lovely location, beautifully decked out shack
4.7
The location of the shack was perfect with a great view of the waterway from the porch/deck. Although small it had everything one would need and it did it well. Perfect comfortable bed , kitchenette, breakast staples, bathroom and sitting area. Very well presented and clean . Easy street parking on a dead end street. Tucked away from the hussle and bussle of Strahan yet just a short drive from everthing. Highly recommended
The automated lock on the door had a mind of it's own but we managed.

isolated from town and peaceful
didnt really quite how many holiday homes were at the site

Make sure you read their website about the history of this place. The exterior of the shed looks old and apparently couldn’t be updated due to its heritage status. The interior was tastefully designed. Its size is small - be prepared. Harbour view was good and east aspect attracts a good amount of sunlight. Along the river bank, there are a number of ducks always roaming around. The tucked away location is quiet - the most you will hear is probably the ocean. We didn’t mind but we know some other guests had issues with the bed being against two walls. Overall still worth staying here as long as you know what you are getting into.
There was no shampoo provided (only body wash). The property is quite small and its internal usable size is nowhere near 50m2.

This is a truly unique destination overlooking Lette's Bay. The seclusion and peaceful silence was just lovely. The facilities were modern and clean and the hut was surprisingly well stocked with condiments, kitchen essentials, games and bathroom requirements.
The owner's pre-stay communication meant we knew just what to expect and we prepared well for our stay, enjoying a welcome home-cooked meal after a week on the road.
The giant, honey bee sized blow flies. Not sure what could be done to reduce these pesky visitors. Thanks for the insect repellent.

how peaceful it was
4.7
The location was incredible, so peaceful being right on the water! The ducks who hang around are very cute and friendly. The accommodation is in a row of shacks, however it's super quiet. The place had everything we needed for breakfast (eggs, bacon, bread, cereal, jam, butter, vegemite etc.) and great place to cook dinner (plenty of pots and pans, herbs and spices, oil, sauces, etc). The bed was super comfortable, great pillows and linen :)
No complaints at all, wish we stayed an extra night!

Its quiet and unique location made this stay feel a little magical.
