Beautiful grounds and facilities - food was tip top
Maintenance in the rooms could be a bit better - wobbly handles and curtain poles

Great place. We were surppised with this object. It is magical place and object itself. Great help from object personnel in repairing car.

The lodge is destination in itself. Very good game tour around the property. Very nicely cooked food.

The newly renovated lodge was much better than anticipated and as rated. We can certainly recommend the lodge, especially the cottages which are much bigger than stated at booking.com.
Food was the best we had in Namibia.
Most staff were very responsive and friendly.

The lodge, facilities and rooms are all excellent. The setting is beautiful and the walks/game drive is worth the visit alone. Lots of animals and birds to see. Maals are very good indeed and the staff amongst the friendliest and most hospitable I have met with in nearly 35 years of travelling to Namibia. All in all simply outstanding value for money and the perfect place to stay for a first night in Namibia.
Nothing to dislike

A lovely lodge where great attention has been given to the decor. Conveniently situated off the main tar road between Windhoek and Otjiwarongo. Beautiful landscape,
especially stunning on a sunset game drive. Very friendly staff.
They need more knowledgeable nature guides. The game driver was essentially that - a driver of the vehicle - whereas a good guide would be able to give insight into everything - from the game to the flora and insects and birds - and not just hand over a book for visitors to look it up themselves. I was disappointed with the educational side of the game drive experience.

Beautiful hotel, we booked one night here during our trip to do the rhino tracking in the morning which was very good and recommended. The place is beautiful and the food is amazing, so different from the rest of places where we stayed during our trip in Namibia. Dinner and breakfast totally recommended.

Breakfast was good and staff very friendly.
I would have liked more coffee and tea in the room, maybe with a rusk or 2. Also could not see any game unless you go on a game drive so a waterhole would be great. Dinner was expensive.

We stayed 1 night on route between the airport and Etosha, which is a bit short. Very scenic surroundings, nice pool and garden and very helpfull and friendly staff!

We actually stayed in the Mountain View rather than the lodge pictured. THE MOUNTAIN VIEW LODGE IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Ciska and Riaan who run the lodge are fabulous hosts. They couldn’t do enough to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They have a very special touch. The food was beautifully prepared - probably the best food we had in Namibia and we stayed in more expensive places- and the tour to see the rhinos with Riaan was great, he is very experienced and knowledgeable. Finally, the elevated view from the pool area over the surrounding land was just sensational, especially with drink in hand. Thoroughly recommended - but make sure you get the MOUNTAIN LODGE as the Otjiwa Park seems to have at least 3 lodges.
Booking.com could have made the booking at this lodge clearer. The information here doesn’t do the Mountain View Lodge justice and caused confusion when we arrived.
