Disappointed

Location of the property

The room. We paid for a superior room with river view. But very disappointed. The room itself was OK. There was only a fraction of the river view promised on booking .com. This room should be advertised as very small view of river. The bed was perfect, but there was no toilet brush. , the shower tiles needs a clean. . Next door tap should not be heard at 3am. The fire alarm on the ceiling should not plink every 5mins with a red light. The entrance mat was full of tree foder when you enter the room. Bit off putting for what to expect. The TV signal is hurendos. But your staff at the bar and restaurant are the best. It's just a shame it's not extended to your hotel. . Location is perfect , but need to re advertise the superior room with a river view, or reduce the price., because of fales advertised. Advertised should be partial.

Pleasant and comfortable. Restaurant very good.

Food in the restaurant was very good.

Bathroom walls very thin so you can hear all bodily functions of the person next to you. Very noisy when the tap is being run in the bathroom next to you.

The restaurant staff and food were excellent. They should be congratulated by the owners 👌🏻

Room fine and bed comfortable but a fan which went on and off all night very much disturbed our sleep. Our wet room is in need of a refurbishment and needs to be done now

Surprisingly disappointed with a very good location and not very good execution.

Very good location in a great town. Staff friendly. Convenient parking.

Relaxing stay in a lovely hotel in a beautiful city.

Excellent location near city centre and sites. Roomy bedroom, substantial and varied breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff. Bar served local beer including stout and there was the option to sit outside right by the river.

Room was a little hot. TV reception as poor.

Lovely relaxing stay with delicious food

We felt that staff were aware we were guests and tried to prioritise our evening meal booking by meeting our requests. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely Spacious room, though we did book a deluxe . Good location to the river, activities & walking. Good food and drink choice both at the boathouse and nearby

The rooms were described as Riverside…. This isn’t accurate. The rooms are located behind the bar/restaurant with the car park in between! Therefore, “all rooms have a park view & a couple also have a glimpse of the river, depending which room you are in” is a more accurate description . On this, we were quite disappointed and felt that it , sadly, wasn’t value of the price we paid.

a great spot for our much needed break.

The location of the bar/restaurant on the riverside was lovely. The bar/restaurant staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. The location meant easy access on foot to Chester city centre, its history and attractions. The room across the car park from the restaurant was a good size with a good sized shower room that had excellent space to place toothbrush and toiletries.

I never really like to see dogs (other than assistance dogs) in places where food is being served. There were very few dogs whlist we were there. But on a hygiene basis this is something that should not be allowed. Just our opinion!

lovely room and location, but very poor breakfast service

fabulous location, lovely room. ideal for visiting Chester

Breakfast was poor, we gave in our order and were then forgotten about, people who arrived after us had eaten before we were served. it was obvious they had forgotton our order and when eventually we had to ask they rushed off and when it arrived it was undercooked. I think the staff were very young and inexperienced, maybe an older person co-ordinating would be helpful.

Very good

The location was great, the breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very welcoming. The room was very modern and very clean.

There was nothing we didn't like - but maybe a fridge in the room wouldn't go a miss. Tea and coffee facilities were nice and always filled up, but sometimes it's nice to have a fridge.

our toilet had a sewage smell but not all the time works are being carried out so could have been the cause
