The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was ok. The wifi in the room was rubbish. The chair in the room was very uncomfortable so had to sit on bed for the evening. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The bar meal I had was good and the beer garden is lovely.
BT wifi in the room was rubbish. Chair was uncomfortable so couldn't work at the desk / table.

Location and bar and restaurant
Check in wasn’t that friendly, the room was cold and WiFi didn’t work, even though I enquired at reception to check
3.0 / 10.0
The room was clean and the staff were pleasant.
The NOISE of bass music all night long played in the bar beneath our room - didn't sleep a wink after a 6 hour car journey from Devon, we were exhausted. Add to that the party in the next door room ( which resulted in an argument with the guests at 12:45 am) and paper thin walls and squeaky floor boards - it was just terrible. NEVER going back there ever again ! and I would advise anyone with a thought to stay at this place to not to go there. We stayed for one night and could not wait to leave. We have never stayed in such a noisy place ever, It was unbelievable and like complete mental torture after such a long journey It wants reporting to Booking.com. it was so bad. The food was average but not brilliant either. This is an events /party hotel if you are part of the event that is held here, and staying there because of it then fine but if not, don't bother because you WILL regret staying there if you aren't - take my word for it. It may be set in peaceful surrounding but is anything but !

Check in was a bit of a joke we walked in everybody was just looking at us and no one came to check us in for some time We stayed as a family of 6with our 3 year old grandson visiting friends you should really say when you have live entertainment on when booking we were directly above it booming out till 1215 am the floor was vibrating the radiator was out 3 year old couldn’t sleep and neither could we the breakfast was £8.99 I had no egg or mushrooms and got nothing to replace them so just 1 sausage I bacon beans and toast not worth the money

We've had better and had worse. We would say it was average.
Busy with others and forgot to come over to ask if we required a dessert.

Staff were very nice and the breakfast was lovely
The bed was quite poor for size and comfort. Bathroom had a bit of mould at high level.

Mosquitoes as I mentioned in my booking.com review.I would never stay at that location again and suggest you provide some eradication equipment as who knows the health status of the previous occupants? I was in room 217.

location
noise! got back to the room after being out and the noise coming from a marquee was unreal! No mention when booking if any event or noise! serious noise levels that were so loud we couldn’t sleep right next to our room!

A group of 5 of us stayed here, and had 4 rooms between us. Rooms were spotlessly clean, and quite modern. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, especially the breakfast team! Food was delicious, with lots of choice, and portions were large. Hotel itself had a lovely feel, with nice garden, and plenty of parking. Rooms were very good value, breakfast was extra, but at £8.95 a head was good value, and again quite a bit of choice. Vegans and Vegetarians catered for.
In 3 of the rooms, the double beds were tiny. 4ft beds, which for 1 person is fine, but for a couple wasn't great.

Location is lovely and the breakfast was excellent.
Coat hangers too high to reach.

The choice of food here, all freshly cooked is a wonderful change from the bland (and expensive) chain hotel offerings. Staff were helpful, the room was clean, all in it was great value.
The negatives are a basic room, doors with codes to remember and fiddle with and an electric shower with a flow rate that takes ages to get shampoo out of your hair.
4.0 / 10.0
comfortable bed, easy access to heating
wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi
kettle broken
one available plug socket broken, had to share kettle plug
very stingy tea-tray, not enough of anything to last the stay
very squeaky floorboards and doors
damp and mould and drains smell
tiny sink
poor water flow

Easy to find. Fantastic pub and nice privacy of the outside room. All staff had lovely customer service. Nice and clean. great addition of the live band.
The steps to the room was a killer (very slippy). my partner had to attach the shower to the tap and there was no where to hold the shower head. the walls could have done with a new paint or more durable paint as had black marks all along. (but the room appear very clean. A larger bed would have been good. more then enough room for it.
