About this house rental
Luxurious Contemporary, log home located on 81 private acres of secluded woodlands with no neighbors in sight! Perfect for a small retreat for a family or group, an intimate gathering or event and significant celebration moments too. Close to downtown Truckee, ski mountains and 30 minute drive to Reno.
We are a quiet mountaintop estate with Eagles, Deer, Bears and Chipmunks amongst other wildlife for company. Enjoy a hike on the property, bike the back roads of our gated community, or simply enjoy the mountain and reservoir views from the expansive decks.
So much beauty to behold and so much fun and relaxation to be enjoyed in our 7000+ square foot, 7 bedroom and 5.5 bathroom contemporary log home, featuring curated modern art collection, amenities such as Marshall speakers in bedrooms, airplay to speakers on outdoor decks, full entertainment adult lounge, home gym, home theater with surround sound, hot tub, cold plunge, fire pit and sauna.
Enjoy conversation and roast s'mores around the large propane fire pit. Sunsets are best enjoyed from the hot tub on the large stone deck. Plenty of fun for kids to be had on the outdoor playground in front of our home. We recently added a bike pump track on the property too which will be added to in spring to become inclusive to professional bikers and novices alike.
We are seeking permission to build a recreation and wellness center which when completed will feature a massage and bodywork area, hyperbaric chamber, floatation tank and Resonate vibrational beds which use sound vibration and light for healing. There will also be an extensive work out area with a peloton bike, step up trainer, professional row trainer, weights and a stretching area too.
The magnificent high vaulted ceilings in the Living Room and grand open floor plan spans into the large kitchen with island and all of the equipment to cook up amazing meals in the dining area that can seat 16+ guests.

This place was amazing. We had 12 guys for a golf trip and had no need to leave. I wish we had a few more days at the house. Well equipped, plenty of space, game room, and the host was super easy to work with. Highly recommend for a larger group of friends or big family getaways.

We booked this beautiful location for a small wedding and for the family/friends to stay in before, during, and after the celebration. Everyone wishes they could have stayed longer! It was absolutely amazing.
We have stayed in multiple large houses over the years for family reunions- this was by far the nicest and best appointed one we have stayed in. Everyone had a great time, from the hot tub to the cold plunge, the spacious rooms to the family accommodating dining table. The views from the house and property were matched by the peace and quiet we all felt while there. We would love to be able to stay again in the future!

This rental property exceeded our expectations. We are a group of friends who enjoy cooking and the kitchen was fully stocked of all the supplies we needed. We didn’t want to leave. This home was clean and provided many activities. We were able to use the sauna and jacuzzi. If you run into any questions or issues they are on top of it to make sure it gets fixed. They are reliable and extremely friendly. I highly suggest booking Hacienda de Leyenda!

Our family reunion and mother’s 80th birthday celebration was made extra special and memorable thanks to this gorgeous house/mansion. We utilized nearly all the home had to offer, including hot tub, sauna, cold-plunge tub, recreation room w/ pool table, generously appointed bar glassware, workout equipment, playground … really too much to list. Rachel was our manager during our stay, promptly came to resolve small issues (lightbulb replacement, extra towels) and gave us a thorough tour of property with how-tos to operate the various fancy offerings on the property. The kitchen has every gadget and tool you can imagine including a fancy espresso machine (also got a tutorial from Rachel) that was a huge hit. Lots of firewood, fire starter was provided for the huge fireplace, movie screen was great to watch baseball playoffs, beds so comfortable and well appointed bedrooms, wonderful art throughout the house, again, too much to list! Little things that could stand improvement: 1) ice machine on counter is insufficient for large groups so we bought ice everyday from store (the one in fridge does not work); 2) bathroom showers were not as clean as I’d expect, globs of hair found in one (and with a $600 cleaning fee, I would expect housekeepers to do better?). Neither of these things would make me demote this property to less than a full 5 stars. We hope to visit again next year!

The house was just fabulous, clean, tidy and ready for our arrival. It was everything we hoped for and more! Plenty of activities for all family members of all ages.

This is our second summer at this house and it suits us perfectly. I have 4 grown sons and two daughter in laws. This is a huge chance for us all to get together and just RELAX! This house has ample room and the downstairs "private club" leads to hours of evening/late night fun. Luckily between the cold plunge, sauna, and hot tub recuperation is possible. It is a bit isolated but I think this makes it better. Still only 10 mins.to Truckee. Tahoe is CROWDED but this house provides a great respite and retreat to enjoy friends and family.

The house was fantastic. Plenty of room for everyone. We were a group of 14 college friends from the 80’s. We are all outdoorsy. And we were not disappointed. The house amenities were as described and we took advantage of all of them. Liz and Gary were great to work with and made our trip easy.

We came from near and far to spend time with each other and this place was perfect. There was a long dining room table that all of could fit at to share our meals. A nice living room for all of us to gather in, a large patio with a lot of seating for us to visit in, and outdoor locations for small breakouts and early morning exercise.
Our rooms were very nice, we were comfortable and the owners and property manager were all more than accommodating. There were no complaints and there were fourteen of us. I would call that a miracle. Everyone wants to go back next year. We all highly recommend this Hacienda!!!

This was the perfect place for our family vacation (11 adults, 3 kids). We had planned to do all sorts of things around Lake Tahoe and Truckee, but it was so much nicer to just hang out together at the "Hacienda." So much to do -- billiards, a playground for the little ones, jacuzzi, sauna, and the ever-popular "cold plunge." They have a dart board, exercise equipment, the shuffleboard. The kitchen is immaculate and had every thing we needed, and a huge dining room table that fit us all in. The BBQ was right there with its own outdoor table overlooking the incredible view. It's a huge property and it feels like having your own little corner of the forest to hide away for a while. It is well maintained and operated. The manager was very responsive to every little detail. We definitely recommend the place if you are looking for something to make your stay a little special.

I can't stress enough how beautiful and amazing this stay was. Liz and Gary made such a fantastic home and Rachel was the BEST property manager I've ever worked with. She was communicative, friendly, kind, and just straight up awesome. There is so much to love about this place and our whole group of 12 adults were comfortable and loved all of the amenities, from the local coffee to the deck where we could sit outside and read or grill, to the firepit that we gathered around to tell stories and play games to the kitchen, to the shuffleboard to everything! Thank you so so so much!

Over the last few years, our friend group has stayed at 6 different properties for our annual Tahoe trip. This is the only house we've ever wanted to return to. This year was our second year in a row staying at this property, and we hope to return as many years as they will have us.
The pictures do not do this place justice. The house is extremely spacious. The rooms are comfortable and large, and the common spaces are very well arranged. We easily fit our group of 15 and had plenty of space left over for anyone who wanted a quiet place to retreat to. The kitchen is giant, well stocked, and a joy to cook in. The two ovens and oversized range came in very handy. There are enough table settings for everyone, and the huge table makes sitting down for dinner as a group a breeze.
The sauna and hot tub are incredible. The view (when the snow is not coming down) is breathtaking. The house is so isolated, it's easy to feel like you're the only people in the world. Any direction you go, there is beautiful forest wilderness with incredible views. And yet the house is easily accessible from I80.
Rachel, the property manager, is incredibly helpful, responsive and caring. We went up during a storm, and she was extremely understanding and flexible with us navigating the weather and road conditions. Joel, the maintenance manager, stopped by several times during our visit to clear out the accumulated snow. An incredible crew that worked really hard to make our stay enjoyable and stress free.
I could not recommend this place more highly. Seriously, if you're searching for a place to stay, come here.

We stayed with a group of friends over the labor weekend and we had an amazing time!
The property is located in a beautiful secluded area in Truckee. The house is huge and with plenty of room. The kids enjoyed the play room in the basement while adults enjoyed the hot tub outside. :)
There are also tents outside the house for a nice glamping experience :).
The house had everything we needed and it is 20 minutes away from downtown Truckee.

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay. The home had everything our teens wanted to keep them occupied and a beautiful deck for the adults to relax on. We loved the large dining table that accompanied all 16 of us for meals and family games! The rooms were comfortable, and the home had everything we needed for a long weekend away!

We rented the property to have a weekend get together with friends. It was absolutely perfect. This property has everything we could've asked for. I love that there are several common areas great for gathering including the large indoor dining room, outdoor patio with large dining table, and fire pit.
The house was spacious enough for everyone to gather, but also retreat back to their bedrooms for some quiet time without being disturbed by noise from the main areas. Each morning we all just sat on the deck enjoying the Black Fox Coffee and taking in the incredible views. At night, sitting by the fire pit with a glass of wine was the perfect ending to the day. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Rachel, the property manager, was very pleasant and responsive as well as Liz, the owner. Their kind and welcoming nature made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this property. We hope to stay here again!

Great property, would recommend
First of all, let me state this property is stunning. We had a small family event and I could not have asked for a more beautiful setting. The property is remote, secluded and quiet. The house is unique and has several wonderful features. The owner, Liz, and her manager, Racheal, were very responsive to texts and calls. There were some issues that you may want to consider when renting this property. Currently, this is not an air conditioned home. I understand this is common for the area but if you have 16 people in a house in the peak of the summer you will want air conditioning. The two downstairs bedrooms did not have screens on the window so we could not even get the room cool at night. Although the house is beautiful it was difficult to feel too comfortable. My family and I have stayed in many VRBOs. The owners had more rules than I have ever seen from a VRBO. When using their property, the owners asked for a "no shoe" house which I am fine with but gave the reason because they didn't want their Turkish rugs harmed. Also, it was stated feel free to use their crystal glasses, but they do count them and will charge you if you break any. I understand the value of these items but my suggestion would be not to put them in your VRBO where there will be large groups of people enjoying the house. It was also stated that they would prefer no outside music after 9pm. If you are planning a large outdoor event you may want to consider if the 9pm curfew will work for your group. I would definitely recommend this property but would suggest considering if your group will need air conditioning to be comfortable and determine if your group is willing to adapt to the many guidelines given.

heaven in the mountains
Property is a little worn. Its location is so peaceful its amazing while only being about 15 mins from Truckee and other activities. It was strange that the owners are also on property in a seperate house very close by. It would have been nice to have some s ort of map detailing the 81 acres i.e. hiking trails, look outs, points of interest. The neighborhood dogs (4-5 total) are a little too friendly. Lastly there are cameras on the inside of the house and while it was explained to us that it was only to monitor doors etc. for bears and that they don't watch them when guests are there it was strange we wound up covering them with a towel most of the time. This place is PERFECT for a larger group to relax and bond and the amenities (hot tub,sauna, cold plunch, CLUB!! etc. will spoil you.

Beautiful property
We had a wonderful time. The hosts were great and willing to respond to any issue we had. There were some screens missing and they sent a maintenance man over (Joel) to measure and install screens while we were there. The response was great but it would have been nice to have that dealt with before our arrival so that we did not have to have work being done on the facility while we were there. He was not intrusive, but still, for the amount of money being paid you would expect those things to be handled before you arrive. We also had a bat in the cabin flying close to the heads of some of our babies.! Again, Joel came over to handle (a great guy!) and he was able to catch the bat and remove it. When you have a place in the woods like this, you can’t expect to not have any creatures ever, and what a story for future family gatherings! Can’t rave more about the locale and scenery from every aspect of this house. The movie screen was a great feature and kept the kids entertained. The sauna and cold plunge were fantastic, and the wildlife was wonderful! Would highly recommend this place to anyone and truly appreciate our time there. A great family trip!

Weekend away
This home was great! Everything we could of needed was there. The only issue we had was a toilet was not working but the maintenance man came out the next morning and helped resolve the problem. Other than that, the home is in a great location with beautiful views and was more than big enough to accommodate our party of 14 adults. The party room downstairs in the basement was a great place to hang out, have a drink and play some pool. I would highly recommend this home to anyone for any occasion.

Clean and Relaxing
Liz and Gary have a beautiful home! Their assistant Rachel was very accommodating, allowing us to check in an hour early. We had our dog, he loved running around the property and playing with the dogs that lived on the street. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and even spend many hours on the swing set. The sauna was very relaxing and rejuvenating. We had 15 people and the home was big enough to not feel cramped.

Huge house!
Very nice house. Perfect for our group of 15. Each suite on the main level has its own bathrooms. the house itself is nice and seclusive. Only downside is that you have to take all of your trash to the dumpster about a mile away from the house. Overall i would stay here again.

Amazing weekend in the mountains!
We had an incredible weekend with a group of 11 friends in the mountains. This house is more like a hotel with beautiful amenities and lots of space. It's close to Northstar and Palisades. We ended up skiing a day at Northstar and it was super convenient to get to. The entire area is so beautiful and secluded. Liz was very easy to communicate with. She was super helpful upon check-in and check-out as well as answering questions we had. She also has a guide printed out in the house that provides great information about the house and local area. If you have the opportunity to stay at this house I highly recommend it. I will definitely be returning!

Beautiful Cabin near Northstar
Each year, our group heads to Tahoe for a birthday celebration/ski weekend. Having stayed in this cabin under its previous owners, we were incredibly excited to come back and see the changes that the new owners have made to the property.
It definitely did not disappoint! The upgrades to the property were perfect and our group thoroughly enjoyed the new amenities, including the hot tub, sauna, and pool table. The location is a short, easy drive to Northstar (assuming you beat the traffic), yet is incredibly private and serene for those that don't feel like skiing.
The property manager was attentive and friendly, making sure to great us with a thorough walk-through of the house and its features.
All in all, we highly recommend this property and we can't wait to visit again next year.

Best stay
I've rented many properties near Tahoe, and this one by far is my favorite. We were surrounded by wild forest on all sides, the outdoor hot tub, sauna and fire pit were amazing to relax in, the home itself was spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The hosts and managers were extremely responsive and helpful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. I will absolutely be back!
