Excellent place with awesome view - a highlight of our trip.

Located on a very verge of the highland. What makes this place exceptional are truly awesome views from the terrace which was right at front of our room and the adjacent breakfast terrace. From the tea fields right below the perspective continues to the vast expanse of lower hills, plains and lakes in the distance, towards the southern coast. In addition from the "wow effect" caused by the views everything else was in perfect order. The hosts were very friendly, our room was comfortable, the breakfast tasty. It is a short walking distance from the train station and town centre, although part of it is quite steep. Finally, we so much enjoyed the low-key character and local life of Haputale compared to over-touristed and noisy Ella.

Umwerfende Aussicht in schöner Unterkunft.

Die Aussicht, Bett und Gemeinschaftsräume sowie die Loggia. Hilfreiches Personal.

WC-Spülung schwach und man benötigt einen Steckdosenadapter. Die haben noch die alten südafrikanischen Steckdosen. Außerdem war der Vorhang vor der Tür umständlich und man blieb an der Türverriegelung hängen.

Nice view, quiet place, close to city, very good chef

Very nice host and they really know how to cook. They are offering a cocking classes soon. There is a little construction going on which will be finished starting of February. We stayed their only one night on a sunny day. The view from the balcony is marvelous

The people was very kindly, help us in everything that we need. He arrenge us all the transports and give us good advices. If you stay here, book the dinner, the best Rice&Curry we have in all SriLanka

Beautiful view, clean and comfortable rooms, and lovely hosts!

Amaya View Guest Inn was fantastic! Very close to the center of town and the railway station but tucked away on the backside of the hill so it’s quiet and overlooks the nearby tea hills instead of town (a stunning view!). The owners are the loveliest family who took great care of us and cooked us delicious dinner and breakfast. They are also committed to taking care of some stray and/or injured cats and dogs from town, which was sweet. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the shared balcony (that we had to ourselves) was a lovely place to spend an afternoon reading or just enjoying the view!

The stay has been really amazing, they helped me with all the tours (Horton Plains and Lipton Seat) and I could also join the family for their new years meal and preparations. This has been really special. Room is a bit humid, but it was fine for me. The warm welcome and excellent food plus the beautiful view make this a really great place to stay. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice and helpful host and hostess. They invited us with tea and biscuits. Very nice view. Very good, tastful breakfast which have us strenght for sightseeing. Host arranged tuktuks etc.

In booking, rooms are described as "with private bathroom". In reality it was a shared bathroom. In one room, there was a missing glass sheet in window, thus it was quite cold. Host gave us blankets however still it was really cold at night.

A great homestay with wonderful food and views

A nice family run hotel at the heart of Haputale. The home cookef food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. Views from balcony were very nice. The family was friendly and helpful.

An extra blankets would have been nice as the night was cold and rainy.

Amazing place to stay in Haputale and stunning view!

Such a nice place to stay in Haputale. The terrace with a view is absolutely stunning, the room is clean and comfortable and the mom is the best cook! Best rice and curry we had in the whole trip. The whole family is really welcoming and nice, they improvised a cooking class so I could learn how to make these delicious curries at home. Breakfast is also very good. Don’t miss this place!

The house is a little humid, especially the rooms. Not a big problem though, and the view, the warm welcome and the food still make this place one of the best guesthouse we’ve had!

Place to enjoy

We had a great stay at Amaya view. The location is beautiful, host friendly and helpful, home made meals-delocious! From here you can easy get to Bambarakanda, Diyuma falls, caves and other destinations. Perfect place for stay in this area!
