Beautiful location, superb views.
Lacklustre staff, as if they can't be bothered with the site, unkempt buildings and grass areas, poor facilities, no breakfast options during the week Mon/Fri only weekends. Site navigation signage almost non existant.

Location to Swanage very good
One toilet between 50 + motorhomes and bell tents.

Excellent location
Bell tent was certainly NOT glamping.
The tent consisted of : several mats creating trip hazards and dirt traps, fold up metal frame beds with mattresses, an old wooden bedside cabinet and a lamp plugged in to a 4 socket extension lead. Apart from that it was completely empty.
Still confetti from previous customers left under the bed.
1 male toilet servicing around 50 people close by. Shower block was either a 5 or 15 minute walk and showers were dirty.
We didn't try food or bar.

it was a very good location just outside Swanage.
it was cold but I knew it would be and we took a small electric space heater and hot water bottles. the first tent we entered was wet on the floor but it turned out that this wasn’t the one that had been set up for us. it was quite muddy but there is hard standing as well as the muddy areas and it is not muddy inside the tent just a bit squelchy. I was a bit worried about the people who live on the site all year. they seem to be really suffering from the cost of living crisis and need help and care.

friendly staff. easy check in. food on site. bell tent was nice and loved the log burner outside
toilets and showers were awful. dirty and in need of a good clean and freshen up
no one cleared up after themselves

We liked the close location into Swanage and we though the staff we polite, nice and helpful.
There was a lot of parties going late into the night - perhaps an area specifically for families with young children would have been better.
We didn't like the location of the bell tents. These were in a high, very open field which made us more open to the elements. Wind was especially bad in this part of camp.
The site was tired and could do with some money spent on it.
There was a lot of dog poo in the fields and walkways.
The toilet and wash facility's were VERY far away.

The area
I had a fall because the Bell Tent had a lip at the entrance that curled up and I caught my foot on this and fell over. I really bruised my knee. This happened on our second day ,so it did affect our stay. Hence the Fair comment. Otherwise the site and tent were good to stay for a few days. Due to the heat at the time the Bell Tent was extremely hot throughout the day.

stunning views and lovely location
Unfortunately not serving any food when we stayed but the bar was open

beautiful views and tents were spacious and clean
the showers and loo could have been better but for the money it’s to be expected

Location was ideal for visiting friends.
A bell tent with a blow up bed, dirty bedside cabinet and one lamp is not my idea of glamping! Thankfully the weather was kind to us as there was nowhere to hang clothes. Toilet blocks weren't cleaned regularly (cleaning chart on wall hadn't been completed since mid August so all Covid guidelines had obviously gone out of the window). Sign said caution very hot water but in the block we were assigned the water never ran even luke warm.

Great location. The Bell Tent field looked attractive and the other campers were friendly. There was complementary bundles of kindling and firewood the first evening for the fire pit which was lovely to sit around in the dark evenings.
There was plenty of room between pitches and the bell tents were very spacious.
Some of the toilets, showers and washing up blocks were substandard. The nearest block to the bell tents had boarded up showers and the toilets, basins and sink areas were not very clean or at least were too rundown to appear that that they had been cleaned. The drainage in the showers in the main reception area and the block in the middle of the site wasn’t great either.

Great location, the tent was clean and the parking was easy.
Noisy at night, very rowdy bar, our firewood had been stolen and my inflatable bed kept going down at night.

Great place to stay over with kids. Exceptional location and amazing scenery. Very relaxing atmosphere. Definitely will comeback again next year. Everything was great, our tent was clean and spacious. The mattress were comfortable and we had no issue with them whatsoever. The showers were closed to our tent and the water was always hot. Overall, we had everything we needed to. I really don't get all these negative reviews but probably people expecting from glamping to be like holiday in the 5* hotel and that's where all their disappointment comes from.
Nothing, everything was great.

Location was great, bell tent spacious and clean. Main toilet facilities very clean. Friendly staff.
Misleading photos, couldnt find the toilet blocks which had combined shower/toilet in one room (the whole reason we chose this campsite). People were being noisey late into the night.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience at Herston. We have no complaints about the set up. The tent, mattresses and facilities were all very nice, but we feel there was a real oversight in management placing family tents directly next to a Hen party with a very large number of very loud women playing obnoxious games-swearing and sexual anecdotes. It couldn't have been more inappropriate to place young families next to such a gathering. We couldn't sleep-we literally had to cover our children's ears so they could try to get to sleep. We scraped through our first night, and determinedly jumped ship in the morning, missing out on our second booked night. The same happened to our neighbours with a young child.
The experience has left us unhappy, we contacted the management and receive no reply. We found it unacceptable.

Great location. Nice walkable distance from town. Spacious bell tents, with comfy inflatable beds.
Some of the washing facilities had no hot water. Tents would benefit from some floor coverings eg. rugs etc

Good walking g distance to swanage, but pleasant. Facilities o.k and shop has enough basics to keep you o.k for snacks.
What can you moan about with camping? It's cheap cheerfully and when wash rooms were clean (as they were) it's ticks boxes.

We stayed in a Bell Tent which was reasonably clean and the blow up beds were comfortable. The location is great and perfect for getting Taxis in and out the town.
Unfortunately the facilities were pretty disgusting and clearly needed to be cleaned. We did hear a customer complain that the toilet blocks needed attention and she was told if she didn’t like it, not to come back. Also the majority of the grounds are not maintained. One area is nice, but that has only just been completed. The rest is pretty dismal.
