The restaurant was aweful, we eventually walked out. Food took forever, left befor it arrived, all we heard was the ping ping of the microwave, obviously the food was not fresh. No savignon blanc, no lime juice.

Lovely location. Friendly and professional.
The room was not warm enough in winter.

Accommodation was just issued no communication

A Comfortable bed, ths staff did their best but lacked initiative and were not pro active.
This is definitely not a boutique hotel it is more budget, tired in places and needs plenty of TLC especially in the bathroom. We were allocated a room in corporate accommodation to which there was an adjoining door, the walls are thin, you could hear next doors tv and coughing although it was none smoking people were smoking in their rooms and this came under the door into our room.
Breakfast was adequate, all the hot food was on warmer plated that had been there a while and empty containers were not refilled with fruit etc.
It was also disappointing to hear a walk in guest was given a room at half the price we had paid and with breakfast. This hotel is overpriced for its overall standard and having travelled extensively within SA staying at many guest houses and boutique hotels this was by far the bottom of the pile.

The food was palatable
The beds in the cottage were terrible 😞. There was no dishcloth in the kitchen. 4 people having to share one bathroom was not good at all because we had to wake up early, so get to breakfast on time and to other appointments we had.

The location was ideal for the function we were attending. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Even though our stay was short we were very comfortable. We will return again
Everything was perfect.

We came to Howick for a funeral, and they kindly let us book in early. One room was ready but not the other, but we got our key anyway. The rooms we clean and comfortable. And the staff we encountered briefly were friendly.
The one room was great. Our room (my husband and I) was okay. The bed was comfortable, but the one side I think had a spring loose and was very noisy every time you moved. We did not have a kettle or any coffee or tea. We also did not have drinking glasses to have water. Unfortunately it not have a shower. Our stay was very brief so we were unable to rectify the problems that we had.

The restaurant staff tried their best, but with clearly limited training and experience. The room was clean.
The reception staff were not particularly motivated or helpful.
I had to go to reception to ask for toilet paper
If one wanted filter coffee with breakfast, one would have to pay extra.
The only red wine available at dinner was from a box (Robertson dry red).

Cleanliness and welcoming staff
No fridge and microwave in the room

Excellent and friendly service from the staff right from check-in to departure, especially from Londiwe.
It was rather cold in the room but it was a very cold night.

Friendly staff and good location.
We stayed in the rondavel it does not look like in the pictures at all. It says self catering with a stove and oven but there was only a microwave. There were no electric blankets as stated. The whole place looks like it needs a revamp looking very old and disheveled.

The cooked breakfast was good but would have liked a healthier option as well. The trees and the location was very pretty. The receptionist was very friendly.
We had a noisy guest next door so very little sound proofing. There were no clean towels in the room when i wanted to shower at 1 before going to our function.

Lovely staff and beautiful setting, great restaurant meals.

Most enjoyable
Room was stuffy. A big sliding window would help stuffiness and allow more natural light into room.
5.0 / 10.0
Comfortable room.
No shower, only a large jacuzzi bath that took forever to fill. The jacuzzi didn't work.
The whole time I was awake and at the cottage there was load shedding. There was no candle or battery lamp in the bathroom for load shedding.

The breakfast was amazing..

Perhaps a little harsh as they had to find me a room at short notice as I had I booked in error for the following night. Room was showing age and the carpet in desperate need of replacement. I understand other rooms are being renovated
