Food was amazing. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I stayed on the 2nd floor and there was no fixed heating but a small heater was provided. It worked well enough.
They were having problems with the heating and it had broken down. Portable heaters were provided but it was exceptionally cold in the dinning and breakfast room. This was not helped as the outside temperature was minus 3.

Staff are always helpful and friendly. Reception staff always have a smile and happy to chat. Same with the bar staff - always attentive and welcoming. The young lady at breakfast was friendly even though she seemed extremely busy and on her own.
The décor in the room was bright and modern, housekeeping do a good job of keeping things clean. More USB charging points would be good near the desk area, maybe lose the hairdryer and upgrade the double socket to one with USB outlet.
The breakfast room and bar are oppressively dark and outdated, not welcoming at all. The food on the counter needs to be more appealing (some of it didn't look fresh at all). Tables need to be cleared and re-laid after use rather than guests piling things up on one already used table and getting cutlery, napkins etc for themselves. There needs to be more staff at breakfast as there are times when the server is busy in the kitchen and not able to tend the tables. In the morning business people want to eat and go.
The heating was broken in my room so was excessively cold as it was -4 outside, I had to ask for a heater

Nice food clean room most of staff pleasant
Could do with more background music playing around bar areas
Breakfast was small as was plated up if it was a buffet I would have had more sausage bacon not just o e of everything and more toast would have been nice

Staff was friendly on reception,
The room was filthy, blood stain on the bed. The bottom of the tiles in the bathroom had what looked like feaces on. It smelt Damp and on getting a bath I realised why! There’s mold growing round the pipe under the sink. Visible from when ur in the bath.

This hotel is nice. It’s clean, comfortable and it’s nicely furnished. I paid £95 for a double room with a cooked breakfast and as prices are today I think that was ok. It’s also in an area with not a great deal of competition in terms of hotel accommodation so it was a welcome find.
The staff were all lovely and welcoming both at reception and in the bar.
I had a meal there that night which I enjoyed. I sat in the conservatory to eat and as it was a sunny summer’s evening I had the pleasure of being able to enjoy the view from the window. The grounds are full of mature trees and are well kept.
I noticed that there is a beauty salon in the grounds but as I didn’t use it I can’t comment.
I would definitely stay at Briar’s Hall again.
Nothing really. It’s not a five star hotel with all the bells and whistles so if that’s what you want you’ll need to go else where.
There was no air conditioning in the room and it was a hot night. This might have been fine in the past but as our summers seem to be hotting up it might be good to install ceiling fans at the very least.
On the whole though, if you’re after a nice place to stay then you won’t go far wrong here.

Lovely hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms, all staff very polite and could not do enough for us.
Disabled parking being used by none blue badge holders and not policed.
