Comfortable bed but small
Clean room
Quiet
Was in patio room for £110 a night.
Was expensive for what it was. Very small room and bed.
When sat on toilet, it was coming away from the wall 😬
For the price would be good to get a breakfast included. Unfortunately, other hotels with breakfast included were booked up, and this was the only room available close to the wedding.

Very comfortable. Directions provided were very helpful as we arrived late in the day.

Location was perfect, plenty of room. Enjoyed the sheep in the field behind the house. Was super stay.

friendly owners who could not do enough for us
nothing bad to say

The owners were very welcoming and very kind

Beautiful surroundings, welcoming hosts, perfect location for my work needs. There was a small holding next door and the hosts allowed me to spend time in the garden which helped me recharge in the midst of a busy week
I don't see that anything could have been better. Everything was beautiful, well equipped. I had a panic that I bought a corked bottle of wine - but there was even a corkscrew provided, and Hope offered me an ice bucket so I could enjoy it outside!

Bed as quite soft and a bit bowed

Very clean and comfortable and very friendly host. Just in walking distance of the local pub
Although there was a toaster in the room there were no plates to put the toast on everything was great with the exception of the plates

Garden area to exercise our dog was very good. Location was good.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely healthy Derbyshire countryside. I think I would like a cooker for proper self catering or just a hob.
Great to have cupboard space for clothes. Shower excellent. Fantastic for getting to local villages and particularly for Borrowash. Thank you. Christine.

clean and had all the necessary facilities. Cheap and cheerful. Happy.
Directions and postcode to find the property were wrong

Third time we have stayed here. It's location is perfect for us.
Very noisy plumbing in our bathroom and number 4 when cold water tap is used.

The self contained room we were given was spacious and comfortable, the outside patio area was a lovely bonus, this will be our go to place when looking to visit Nottinghamshire again

Nice location, very friendly householder:)

The location was very good. Nice walks around the area. And the dog treats are a nice touch
it was cold and we had ask for the heating to be put on. it’s not controlled from the room. Bed was not a standard double it was too small.
They provided a washing bowl but no wash cloth or washing up liquid so it was difficult to wash up

very pretty, very clean and comfortable and everything you could need is there
nothing

Easy to find. Friendly host upon arrival.

The Location, parking directly outside the room ,the room facilities, bed comfy & general cleanliness
Room size too small and cluttered, sound proofing inadequate could quite clearly hear neighbours conversations, lack of hooks and shelving, noisy plumbing too much water pressure on taps.
4.5
well maintained, clean and fresh

Loved meeting hosts and other guests in the communal garden, and spending time with the sheep.
Nearby country walk a real bonus, some of which was tarmac lane which meant I didn’t mess up my only pair of shoes!
I had room 4, which had a lovely comfy double bed, a tv, a small table and 2 chairs. There was a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and crockery. The shower room was clean and like all the property, well maintained. I felt looked after, which I didn’t experience in lots of other similarly priced accommodation in the area.

Just amazing all round and Hope is so helpful.

fantastic location, extremely comfortable, friendly owner.
as a self catering lodge it was a real struggle to make anything as a little too small, no kitchen, no sink just a few kitchen utensils, small fridge, microwave & the bathroom sink to wash up in.

From the minute I opened the door, it was like being home. It’s the best feeling walking into a room with personality and does not feel so bland like many hotels.
There were personal touches to make my stay more comfortable and Hope (the owner) popped by personally to welcome me and say hi.
I’d love to say bad things so no one stops and I always get a room! I simply can not.
The Risley Guest House is a gem.
