Peaceful. Close to the sea. There is plenty of garden for the dogs to run around. And parking. Good wifi connection
Couldn't tune in the tv channels.

Where it was situated
Pair of boxer shorts under sofa cushions not very pleasant

Location. Sea view.
Communication from the owner who took 3 weeks to return a £150 deposit.

Location was beautiful
Management was absolutely awful. They decided to tell me on the day of checking in that there would be an extra fee for gas and electricity. There was also a deposit, which I have been trying to get back after I left the facilities, but all my messages have been ignored . It's really a shame. The location is great, but the level of unprofessionalism displayed by the management really soured the visit.

Location was excellent, lovely and peaceful, even with 2 babies.
Beds nice and clean.
Rug in living room was a bit hairy as I know the property allows pets.

Loved the location having the beach right on the doorstop, was perfect for long walks. Was very pet friendly, an enclosed large garden with decking area. The place was warm and cosy with the fire on, however you need to bring your own materials to light the fire. we discovered plenty of drift wood on the beach which did the job just fine. Cooking utensils and facilities were adequate for the times we did our own catering. Lots of take out options available locally that deliver. Close to shops (not walking distance). Parking for two cars was perfect. Wifi was good, came in handy to do WIFI calling as there was no mobile signal.
Not totally transparent about additional fees, no where was it advertised that Gas and electric was an additional charge before we made the booking. We felt it ended up quite an expensive stay (£162 pn) for this caliber of property. I have not included the additional pet charge in the nightly stay as this was clear before we booked that this was an additional fee and we feel it is only right to pay extra for your pets stay. The property advertises Netflix, satellite TV/Sky Q box, none of these were available, luckily my son and husband are tech savvy and had brought their own fire sticks. I know not everyone goes on holiday to watch TV but in the winter months the evenings were best spent in front of the cosy fire. Netflix and BBC Player are on the smart TV but you need your own account details to log in. We asked the owners about the missing Sky Q box but got no reply. Bathroom needs some TLC, it was damp without means of airing/ventilating as the window was locked, no extractor fan, cold and infested with wood louse. One toilet roll between 5 for the long weekend. Luckily we had read reviews so brought our own toilet rolls, towels (the ones available at Mona villa aren't great) and table salt. I know the response will be that this is self catering but the basics (like salt) are normally available in self catering accommodations. Ended up bringing everything accept the kitchen sink. In response to the owners reply: We did not have any telephone conversations at all. We tried calling but could not get through to the owner. Definitely no sky Q box at the property when we were there, husband and son who are tech savvy spent an hour connecting the tv which wasn't even set up and getting our own Netflix account up and running. No cables for cable TV even if it was there. We did send a message about this but had no response from the owner. All 5 adults tried to open the bathroom window and it was locked (no key).

The overall stay was great, really enjoyed waking up in the morning to the view of the seafront, it was very peaceful and just what we needed.
The were a few issues
Firstly wasn't impressed with having to pay extra for the use of gas and electricity, the last thing you want to do when going away for a break is worry about how much gas and electricity you are using.
Secondly, they advertised having sky TV, which we didn't have anything at all not even standard TV (which when I booked was the first thing I looked for because we are St Helens RLFC fan and wanted to watch the world club challenge on Saturday morning) luckily we have a Netflix account so we could log into that.
They didn't supply any wood or coal for the fireplace, which when charging extra for gas and electricity would've been a nice touch, we had to go out and buy our own so we could keep warm.
There was a leak in the main porch area which when it rained left a massive puddle in the porch and wet some of our things.

very homely, had a real fire, the house was lovely and warm, everything you needed
4.2
It was cosy, warm and comfy so no matter the weather it had such a relaxed feel to it and we were happy to stay in after some beautiful beach walks with the dog. It had the best of both worlds with a traditional secluded feel perfect for our jigsaw and card games but also really modern technology available
There was nothing we didn’t like, a torch would have been handy due to two power cuts from storms during our stay (no candles allowed) and there was a slight leak in the porch but none of this stopped our fun : )

Views, the house was comfortable and we all had a good time.

Mona Villa’s location was perfect, few steps and you’re there at the beach. Very well equipped property to make us feel comfortable throughout the duration of stay. Full of activities to do, all annotated on there information file. Best ever coast to coast hike with spectacular views, took the fishing rod along and did some casting (fishes must be on vacation thou 😂). Marina walk at Whitehaven and nice Sandy beach at st bees (walking distance) with a nice play park to drain the kids energy.
Money well spent and we definitely did enjoyed our 4 nights here. Highly recommend!
Minor: No clothes line outside to dry/wind the clothes.

Superb location and fantastic views. Very friendly neighbours who kindly gave us their homegrown tomatoes.
It took some getting use to driving up and down the steep rough road. Got the hang of it. There was nothing I didn't like.

what’s not to like it was amazing

This is a very cute little house in an idyllic location on the west coast of the Lake District! You are right opposite a gorgeous beach. The house is well stocked and has everything you need for a few night's stay. The bedrooms are comfy and there is a lot of useful information provided by the host about local amenities etc. It is really great value for 5 adults and would definitely recommend staying here.
Really small issue but would be nice if there were a few more basic toiletries in the bathroom like shampoo, body wash and more toilet roll.

Very peaceful & location ideal for visiting west lakes. Lovely to sit on the front & watch the sunset.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mona Villa.
it’s a lovely little house, with three good bedrooms, a comfortable living room with tv and a real fire, a fully kitted out kitchen and off road parking.
(I’d read earlier reviews that complained about lack of things like wine glasses etc - well that’s not true anymore, I cooked quite a few meals (and we drank a few bottles of wine) and needed for nothing).
There’s a good sized, enclosed garden out front, so we were happy to let our dogs wander out there.
And then there’s the conservatory.
This is on the front of the house, facing the sea.
it’s where we spent all our time, just sitting, reading and watching the sky and the sea change, with the Isle of Man on the horizon.
Idyllic.
The location is great, right on top of the beach. The beach is stony, with stretches of sand lower down at low tide. (If you really need a sandy beach, you’re only about 2 miles from St Bees). it’s in a tiny, friendly beach front community.
When they say the beach is across the road, it’s only a tiny local access road.
Only advice would be to take a torch.
It’s pitch black at night - great for star gazing, but not so great for finding your dogs or avoiding puddles.
If you arrive after dark, turn right after you come under the railway bridge and it’s third or forth along.
Communication with the owners was great. They dealt with all our questions brilliantly.
Nothing to dislike, absolutely loved it.

Amazing location! Loved the kids books and great for rainy days as there is sky and Netflix. The open fire was a nice touch. The girls loved their welcome sweeties and the dog her treat. We will be back in the summer!
4.2
Great location, nice and quiet. The beach is stony but it’s sandy up at St Bees. There are great cliff top walks and the lakes are close by. A much less touristy area of Cumbria and lovely comfortable accommodation with everything you and your dog need.
Mattress in 2nd bedroom is a bit uncomfortable but otherwise everything was exactly as hoped for.
4.2
Everything. The location was fantastic, right on the beach.
Everything was wonderful

Beautiful little cottage, in one of the nicest places I've been. The owner was a lovely lady to deal with too

Love the views. Neighbours were awesome. Kids loved it. Definitely will be back again soon.

This is such a lovely cottage in quite a remote area but certainly worth it once you get there. It’s right on a pebble beach front and is very quiet and quaint.
The cottage was clean and tidy and the beds were super comfy. Great to have sky tv and WiFi for the kids. There is a lovely log fire which will be amazing in Autumn/Winter.
Outside there are 2 great spaces for dining out/drinks whilst watching the sun going down and a conservatory with great views too. The garden is an amazing size and secure (which was a great bonus for the dog).
All the neighbours were super friendly too!!
The location is right off the beaten track and down very small, tight roads, so be prepared!
Nearest town is about 10mins.
It would have been nice to have had some essentials which are common place nowadays such as towels/hand wash/toilet roll/kitchen towel and wine/prosecco glasses.

Beautiful location, very difficult to drive to so keep that in mind prior to booking (not the villa's fault though).
Communication with Hosts was quite stressful on day of arrival, tried calling host on day and had the phone put down on me! Then finally got a text with the key code half way during the journey there.

Beautiful location on the Irish sea, very handy for exploring the Eastern Lakes & Fells. You are close to a less frequented part of the Lake District which we enjoyed. Comfortable chalet-villa with plenty of space and a lovely sunroom, part of a small friendly community. Love the fact you have your own bench on the nearby dune looking out to sea - perfect to watch the sun go down! Also our host kindly sent on some clothes we left behind, which was very much appreciated - thank you!
