Great sized rooms
Amazing location
3.9
The size of the property was more than adequate for two families. The kitchen facilities were home from home and with a large pantry at the back, storage was not a problem. The views from both double bedrooms was delightful to wake up to each morning, and the beds were very comfortable. Two lovely little pubs about a 15 minute walk away (Ratty Arms and The Inn at Ravensglass) which both served homemade food. The lack of WiFi didn't bother us as we took our own entertainment, which was actually quite refreshing, having the full attention of 2 teenagers! (You can only get a mobile signal from the front of the property) If you're wanting a nice, quiet break away in a rural location, Newtown House in Ravenshlass is the place for you! Would most definitely return! *****
The drive into Ravenglass and up the dirt track towards the house are not well-lit and quite narrow and winding. Would recommend arriving during the daytime as opposed to late in the evening.

Excellent property - great sized rooms. Ideal for a good get together.
The heating went off and once it was fixed (quickly by staff) it then was excessively warm and some radiators couldn’t be turned down.
3.9
Location, good size
Better maintance of the property. Lack of some basic good quality kitchen equipment.
3.9
The view and the locality. Situated within easy walking distance to the Cumbrian coast.and the Ratty miniature railway.
Noisy neighbours! The house was divided into two parts. We could hear through the dividing wall. Especially at bedtime.
3.9
The view from the property was amazing. Its a lovely big old property. Garden was lovely and good parking facilities.Main bathroom has been re fitted and in good condition. Peace and quiet. The villiage of Ravenglass is lovely and the steam trains are great to have a go on and well worth a visit.
Property needs some TLC as paint is flaking in bedrooms and ensuites. One ensuite we could not use as shower head would not stay up. The fans in the ensuite bathrooms to the 2 front bedrooms are very noisy and need to be cleaned and maintained and the lights over the sinks in them are attached to main light so in middle of night if you need the bathroom it causes lots of noise and wakes up others as the fan comes on with main light. The road leading up to the cottage has huge pot holes so if in a small car they could cause damage to the car so they need some filling in asap. Do not stay if you want to watch some TV in the evening as we had small children we wanted to watch some tv and all we could get was bbc1/2 the wifi was attached to the tv but the apps did not work they buffered every time we tried to watch something so gave up in the end. wifi for phones is non existent which we relied on as no phone signal in case any elderly parent needed to get in touch. The run down house next door was occupied but we never saw the person which we found a little odd but we saw his birds as they ran through the garden so if you have a dog it could be dangerous to the birds as dogs could chase them. No shops close by to get any essential supplies so take food with you. No information on local attractions such as Muncaster Castle and no wifi to search what is locally. So some leaflets or an information book on local area and attractions would be good.

Didn't have breakfast. Location good for what we wanted to do.
The property while quite acceptable could have done with a little maintenance.
3.9
Had to collect from hotel, couple of miles away and remote locstion to get to cottage. need a goo map printed
showering was a problem hot water kept cutting out.
NO shops close by, or food options.
Property is stunning but quite remote and on edge of lakes, so over an hour away from main lakes

Lovely location and area.
Only one key
3.9
Idilic location & super easy to find the cottage from the hotel where you collect the keys. Gorgeous views. Picnic benches and huge gardens were perfect for the sunny evenings. The cottage had everything that you would need for a stay, we only had 3 nights but would have loved longer or to come again next year!
We were warned in advance there was no WiFI but it wasn’t even an issue, the kids were happy playing the whole time and it wasn’t missed! Only thing missing from the kitchen was a tin opener!

house was clean n tidy , location was good.
creaky floor board , only 2 toilets in 5 bed house, carpet needs changing, it was worn out.

The photos of the rooms corresponded exactly to reality.
The picture of the property was misleading.

The facilities were clean and beautiful, lovely location, house overall was very cosy and great for the price, huge selection of houseware to use and the dishwasher was a huge plus. Really enjoyed the stay overall. Staff were lovely, checkin and out were very smooth and quick. Lots of parking out front. Garden space was beautiful and the house was very warm.
The WiFi didn't work- at all. They did send someone out on our 2nd day there but unfortunately even then it didn't work so I wouldnt rely on having phone reception or WiFi. The bath above the kitchen started to leak too so we were only able to use one shower as the other needed resealing which they were quick to respond to but said they wouldnt be able to reseal it until we left. The pans need replacing as well as one was so warped it wouldn't even sit straight on the hob.

Big house and rooms.
Was extremely cold in top bedrooms, but we were provided with heater very quickly to be fair, so that
was OK.
Must sort driveway, ok for 4x4's but brutal on saloon cars.
Got to get a PIR light for outside the door. Pitch black.
Please open up the fireplace like adjoining property. Would enhance the experience massively.

house was very modern looking and huge! plenty of space for everyone. we had 6 people staying.
3.9
quaint little place in a beautiful setting
nothing
3.9
The location was great; plenty of great walking spots just a short drive away (30 mins). The sheets were all clean and the beds are comfy, however the bedrooms were really cold so I would pack thick pjs if staying in Winter.
We had no contact with the owners other than a message through booking.com advising that no one would be there due to the time of year with instructions to a key pad. This was fine but unfortunately we needed to speak to someone about facilities (cleaning and bins etc) mid-stay and there was no reply to our booking.com message and no answer on the telephone number provided.

The gardens wrapped around the side and front of the house overlooking the peninsula. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating for all (12 guests). All beds were comfortable and clean with beautiful views of the sea and hills behind. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all of immense size and could facilitate the whole group. The lounge was comfortable and had plenty of space for a group. Service for mobile data is available at the benches in the front garden but nowhere else in the house - this was no issue for us as we were out enjoying the nature the Lake District has to offer.
3.9
great size, lovely bedding , kitchen well stocked , clean and well presented , toilet rolls , cleaning stuff provided
some of local shoot parked in front of property and walked through property garden with dogs , concerned re kids safety. understand this a weekly thing , awareness may have mitigated initial alarm / concerns of some of our party.
Dishwasher in front house moves when on and leaks

The cottage is situated in a beautiful location, ideal for walks and local amenities. The gardens are lovely and the dogs had great fun exploring. The bedrooms were comfy and spacious.
The property is in need of some improvements. Its tired in places and some of the appliences and funishings were broke. The living room and kitchen was snug for 11 people, but managable and is as pictured.
We couldn't get the WiFi to work and was unable to use the front door as it stuck. Overall the property is priced to reflect the offering, but you do get what you pay for.
3.9
we had both houses which open up into one big house, it was warm and inviting, the grounds were beautiful too
the wifi didn’t work at all and there was no signal for most of us unless we went outside
3.9
Beautiful location. Great bedrooms with plenty of room and nice bedding. Plenty of kitchen gadgets and good utensils. Overall a very pleasant stay in a lovely place with plenty of room.
No WiFi despite saying that it was connected.. definitely no internet!
The only way to get a reception is to hold phone to a window which is best in top bedroom.
Lack of indoor mat to wipe feet after a wet day (which we had a few of). Maybe downstairs floor tiling would be better than easily marked carpet. Last thing you want to do when it's raining is stand outside and take your shoes/ boots off before entering house.
3.9
lovely big rooms, nicely decorated. big enough dining table for our group. beautiful views.
the heating was on when we entered which was a lovely touch considering how cold it was outside.
the fireplace was lovely though a little firewood to start us off wouldn’t have gone amiss.
the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all and there is no signal at the location so we were off grid which some might enjoy but we wanted to call or FaceTime our kiddies and we couldn’t.
the utensils in the kitchen are a little poor considering the amount of people the place sleeps. the frying pans were very small and we were cooking for 7 people so this was a challenge.
3.9
Space location
No pack to explain how anything worked. Could have had a map to show where property was.
3.9
The house was huge and exceeded our expectations. I stayed with family (8 of us in total-6 adults and 2 children).
The only thing some people may complain about is the lack of wifi or phone signal, however this wasn't an issue for us as we packed plenty of games and was never bored.
We had complementary toiletries in all of the bathrooms and had towels, which was a nice touch.
We were lucky enough to have lovely weather and took advantage of the beautiful surroundings and the seating outside-the views from the house were stunning. I would definitely stay here again as it was in an ideal location too. Muncaster castle is definitely a must and was only down the road to our house.
We were happy with all aspects of our stay.
3.9
Clean property in an excellent location
Lacked kitchen staples and cleaning supplies
3.9
the size of the property, the comfortable beds.
the location initially seemed lovely until you went for a walk around the houses and saw signs to stay clear off one side of the beach because it’s a military training area. There was no shops nearby and only a couple hotels and closed down buildings, which again is not what we expected.
The facilities were poor, although we did get some teas and coffees, they were not there to begin with and it was only by luck that we went to ask at the hotel reception next door for some, as we didn’t know they were owned by them. Same with keys, it would have been nice to know where to collect them before the stay as by the time we got there we had no signal and with no signs to say go to the hotel next door, we wasted 20 mins trying to find signal to get hold of the owner on booking.com.
The property itself was very simple but the floors were not clean and very cold so it was very uncomfortable walking on them with just our socks on. The property wasn’t cosy at all unfortunately. And in the living room there was a killed mosquito on the sealing with blood spread which was pretty gross and not nice to see!
Finally, the Wi-Fi and the signal were very weak so we couldn’t watch Netflix or anything we wanted to when it rained.
All in all, ok holiday but wouldn’t stay again at least not for this price.
