The property had everything you would want for a successful holiday.
The location was near to places of interest and a lot of trouble had been gone to by the owners to provide information about the area, where to eat out and even a TV channel guide.

Location was excellent, the village of Tolpuddle is extremely pretty and the TUC Martyrs Museum was great. Good access to Clouds Hill, Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World. Only an hour from Stonehenge.
Beverly, the host, met us and explained all we needed to know about the house. She was very pleasant and helpful. Supplied us with a list of local pubs and restaurants.
The house had many games and jigsaw puzzles to keep a family entertained on a rainy day. The house was very comfortable and homely.
The kitchen had all the equipment required if you wanted to cook a meal.

Tolpuddle Hideaway is a beautiful little country house. Quiet, clean and cosy. An ideal base for exploring the area.

The accommodation was perfectly adequate for the weekend. We hope to come again in the future. The owner was very welcoming. The accommodation was comfortable. A nice welcome pack of biscuits, tea, coffee and milk were left for us. Parking was in front of the accommodation and very safe.
None of the below would prevent us from staying again, these are purely recommendations to the owner:
The garden terrace wasn't offered until the last evening, and we couldn't see anything about it in the documentation, so would have been nice to have known that when we arrived (if it's available to use would be good to add that to the documentation). Alternatively, a seat outside, just in front of the lounge window, would be nice to sit on in the sunshine as not much sunshine comes in the property.
A freezer or freezer compartment in the fridge and bread knife would also be welcome in the accommodation.

You rarely stay somewhere that exceeds expectations. The space available for 2 people was amazing. If they had a roll away you could easily take 3. Not far from Dorchester and easy access to the places of interest in Dorset. On site car parking and Tolpuddle itself is a lovely Dorset village. The host provided lots of info on eateries etc. And offered to help with any questions. Pricewise you may think the Tolpuddle is more than you usually pay. Dorset is not a cheap holiday area so keep this in mind.
You would have to be very picky to criticise but Beverly and Ted might like the feedback. The hand basin is under a window so no mirror above. Could the host provide a freestanding mirror on the shelf? As i say not a reason not to stay.

A lovely hideaway at the backyard of the owners. Spacious for 2 and very cosy. The lounge and dining were lovely and the bedroom had a large inbuilt cupboard.
I'm not so keen on leather sofas as they re a bit cold and the couch was a bit soft.

Lovely little hideaway with everything you could need and friendly hosts. Gorgeous, quiet location.
Only thing was it was a shame the village pub was closed!

Property was self catering & well equipped. Access to garden. The location was ideal. Plenty of places to visit (that we liked). Great restaurants/pubs nearby. Good access to the coast, we went to Weymouth.
Having to come home!

Bev and Ed were very helpful, I had some medical problems and they did all they could to help me. They changed the garden furniture to suit my needs and gave me advice about local amenities. I would recommend them as hosts. Also the storage facility, a wall unit wardrobe was the best I have ever had in a rented property and helped to keep things tidy and made us feel at home.
There is no reception for O2 phones and the television has basic channels. We were 8 miles from a chemist in Dorchester.
Everything else they put right when we asked.

The property was extremely well presented and had everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It has a well equipped kitchen and the decor throughout complimented the style of property. The setting is a chocolate box one being behind a lovely thatched cottage. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and there to greet us on arrival. A peaceful and relaxing stay.

The Hideaway is perfect. Spacious lounge with comfortable sofa, tv, dining table, Welsh dresser holding books on the local area and further afield in Dorset, games and jigsaw for when the weather is not so good. Kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge etc. Lovely touch tea, coffee, sugar and milk left for a much needed cuppa on arrival also a nice packet of biscuits. Bedroom as throughout the cottage lovely decoration, comfortable bed large wardrobe, Bathroom clean and tidy with a great shower. There is a garden available, to use as well. Private off road parking.

owner was at the cottage as we arrived and was very helpful and friendly. We really appreciated the milk , tea, coffee and biscuits left for us. The cottage was so lovely and clean.
Furnishings were lovely, but for ourselves (with joint problems), the leather sofa in the lounge was not as comfortable as good be. However, for someone else this could be perfect.a

Bev and Ken are the consumate hosts, made us feel very welcome and were there to help if we needed anything. Beautiful small annexe at the rear of the main house the owners live in. Great base to explore the south coast. Nice lounge area , with smallish bathroom and quite large double bedroom . Parking right next to the building.
Nothing to dislike

We had a superb week and really didn't want to leave. Very helpful, lovely and welcoming hosts who left us to it during our stay, but were quickly on hand for any queries we had. Up-to-date information left in cottage as to where to go in the local area and which pubs were currently open which was very useful. Some really good books on the local area too. The comfortable well kept cottage had everything we needed for our 5 night stay and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting to explore this wonderful area. Thank you so much Beverly and Ted and not least for going out of your way to forward our left behind item!

Warm, quiet, comfortable, well-equipped and immaculately clean. The cottage had everything we needed and was a great base for exploring Dorset.

Was all very good, but particularly: very quiet location, comfortably bed, power shower, very obliging and friendly hostess, milk in fridge and tasty flapjacks on arrival, good recommendations for nearby pubs and things to do.
4.5
Location really good. Very quiet at night. Good sleep Near to the Martyrs Inn.
We are used to a very comfy bed, so we noticed the thinner mattress, but that`s just our own preference.
4.5
Location excellent for my needs. Property has good sized sitting room with dining facilities. Well equipped kitchen and a satisfactory shower room. Bedroom has wardrobes to store cases and hang cloths. Tolpuddle is a really attractive Dorset village, the local pub is waiting a new owner but it has now been sold and should reopen after the 2021 lockdown.
