About this apartment rental
Fantastic apartment with dramatic sea views across to France. Relax out on the recently updated balcony and enjoy the beautiful setting, or get out and about and explore this underrated and special location.
Clifton Crescent is a Grade II classic Victorian stucco terrace that fronts on to The Leas, a magnificent promenade lining the edge of the cliff with multiple paths down to the beach, promenade and lower Leas coastal park, with children's playground almost directly below.
Accommodation is split over two floors with the master bedroom, lounge, kitchen/diner and bathrooms on one floor and two further bedrooms upstairs. Two of the three bedrooms have sea views. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and the third has two singles - that can be made into a double on special request. There is also a full size cot and a travel cot available for children.
The kitchen has loads of workspace, a gas fired oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and dining table that seats 6. Also included are a high chair and a booster seat for babies, in fact the flat has many extras for children. There is also a utility room with washing machine.
The property is within easy reach of the Leas Cliff Hall for shows, concerts, pantomimes etc. The immediate area is often used for activities such as mini marathons, Triennial art installations, bandstand performances, occasional classic car rallies and air shows (for which this has the perfect viewpoint!).
The town centre is only a short walk away for everyday shopping. Head down to the old High Street / Creative Quarter with it's bars, cafes and art galleries to the harbour, harbour arm and the Stade. Then on to Sunny sands beach, and if you enjoy a good walk you can continue beyond the east cliffs to explore the wild area known as The Warren.
Further afield you could visit Dover for its impressive castle, and there are ferrys for a day trip to France (if you have a car you can embark the channel tunnel train in Folkestone itself). Round the coast visits to the pretty seaside towns of Deal and Sandwich are worthwhile. On the western side perhaps travel around the bay through Sandgate and Hythe and out to historic Rye, or take a ride with the Dymchurch & Hythe railway through the marshes.
Inland there is the beautiful Kent countryside to explore, and a visit to bustling Canterbury with it's major cathedral, ancient buildings and excellent shopping facilities is essential.
The location is well connected to visit London with the High Speed (HS1) train service. Kings Cross St Pancras taking less than one hour!
Please also note that stays of a week (7 nights) or over also have a 15-25% discount depending on dates.
Please note that the property is situated on the 3rd and 4th floors, the stairs are wide and shallow stepped with several landings, but there is no lift available, so those with disabilities or difficulties climbing stairs should take this into account before booking.

A comfy home, lots of space and everything we needed for a great stay. The balcony came into its own on a beautiful sunny weekend and the walk into the harbour along the Marine or the beach via Zig-Zag path was lovely. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Folkestone!

We had been looking for a quiet place for a family of four in Folkestone, and we've come across Christopher's fantastic appartment. Not only is it perfectly situated just at the wonderful Leas with a view on the Channel and France, it is also much more spacious than we had expected. It offers a very generous living room, kitchen and bathroom, three bedrooms and - our favourite - a balcony with a breathtaking view. All the rooms are decorated with loving care.

We stayed for 6 nights and were so very comfortable and relaxed. It felt like we lived there and got to see the comings and goings of the neighbours. The stairs.. yes there is a good amount of them but still worth it. Dont let that distract you from booking here. We would stay again and recommend.

A fantastic appartment with an amazing panoramic view across the channel to France.
We were in the area for a wedding and this was the perfect place to stay.
The owner couldn't have been more helpful when we regrettably had to amend our dates.
Hoping to come back to visit the area again.

Highly recommend! The location on the water right in front of the 'Zig Zag' path and super cool park with pebble beach is GREAT for families with kids 2 to 15. And Folkestone is just the nicest seaside village. The owner was extremely responsive, informative and friendly. Great get away in an English cultural seaside town with an amazing safe location with incredible place amenities.

We spent a very happy long weekend here.
It was plenty spacious enough for the whole family, the kitchen very well equipped, beds comfy and as for the view from the balcony, that was breathtaking! It was also so tranquil, no traffic noise at all.
You can walk to the beaches and the pier. There are many lovely vistas along the way.
All-in-all, this place was perfect for our family weekend away. We all loved it.

We stayed for two nights, and found the apartment comfortable, well equipped, and in a lovely location by the sea. The view made the stairs worth the climb. Close to many interesting historical sites, beautiful areas for hiking, and several lovely restaurants. Communication with the property manager was great- quick and informative responses. Overall, highly recommend as a place to stay when exploring the Dover region.

Very spacious flat with a fantastic view from the large balcony. The position of the flat in Folkestone is perfect - just a couple of steps from the seaside and a great start for walks along the coast as well as into town.
We quickly got used to the nostalgic charm of the flat although we considered it a little over-decorated. You will find everything you may need, drawers and cupboards are filled with all kinds of things.
The very spacious kitchen makes it fun to prepare meals.
Cleanliness was, well, okay.
Contact with the owner was always very quick and friendly, he answered mails in next to no time.
Would come back.

Fantastic place with an old worldly feel, nice and cozy. Location is ideal close to town centre and on the cost with great views over the Chanel from the balcony, smashing!

It was a lovely spacious flat, a bit old fashioned but we loved that. The steps up to the last floor you get used to and is good exercise :-) Lovley sea views from the balcony. It ticks all the boxes.

It were two wonderful weeks in the flat that was very well equipped. We found everything we needed for our stay. Fantastic view over the sea. The balcony is wonderful and there is a spacious bathroom. We enjoyed it so much that we booked immediately for the next year. The stairs gave us a good fitness. It disturbed us not at all. The host is very friendly, obliging and uncomplicated. We are looking forward a lot to next year. Thanks for all.

lovely stay
Great apartment! It was comfy & clean. Beautiful location! Very quiet and peaceful. The view from the balcony was simply stunning. Though its worth noting its on the 4th floor with no lift, so there were many steps but that didn’t bother us. It was a lovely escape from the city. Will definitely be returning.

Amazing
Lovely flat, stairs abit of a killer but well worth it for the view. The flat is massive. Very old fashioned, but I loved that. Would definitely recommend if you are able to climb 59 stairs.

Apartment with views.
Enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Very quirky, but very spacious, especially for 3 of us. Very well placed for walks into Folkestone and Sandgate.
We had lovely weather but unfortunately the balcony was being renovated so we couldn't use it. The owner had informed us of this a few weeks prior to our stay.
We're much fitter now as the apartment is on the fifth floor with no lift!

The accommodation is excellent, overlooks the sea and has a wonderful view.Everything is accommodated for, no need to bring anything with you other than your personal items such as toiletries, clothes, food and drink.Lovely large kitchen with plenty of crockery and utensils etc.Living room and bedrooms are of a large size as well. The property owner is an excellent communicator and very responsive for anything required. All in all, I cannot fault anything with this property or the property owner, I would highly recommend this property. The check in process is highlighted a 3 stars as the communication coming from the Vbro website did not give me all the information, as the owner had been communicating earlier with me I was able to contact the property owner who responded immediatley and there were no issues.

The property is up 5 flights of stairs but that didn’t bother us. The views out of the property were spectacular. The Leas and the beach area are really lovely. We had a nice walk into the town. The property itself is rather dated but in some ways quite quirky. The only thing that bothered us was that it didn’t seem that clean. I took plates and cutlery out they were still dirty. The walls could do with a lick of paint and the bedroom where our boys slept did smell of stale smoke. The shower door was still dirty.Although not too pleased when we arrived we soon got over that and had a very pleasant stay. The property is quirky and you do feel like you are going back in time. It was warm and comfortable and lovely to look at the sea. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Homely Retro with a Fabulous View
A spacious flat where you can keep a constant eye on the sea and its changing colours and moods. You need not move from the roomy balcony but if you do there is art and beaches and street food to keep you well entertained. A lovely relaxing place to stay.
