Had no idea it was a separate apartment to the hotel that you have to walk to. Paid for parking not great. Breakfast basic. Gym very small basic

For the price the room was not great. The common areas and restaurant are nice but the room itself was not worth the high price. Staff were friendly but more focused on the restaurant and bar.

First time we have stayed at the Halston and I don't think it will be the last . Staff were all very professional and polite , the accommodation was stunning , bed was really comfortable , and we even had complimentary crumpets .
Parking on the car park next door , a bit pricy tbh 2 nights £32, but convenient .

Great location with quick access to the train station and off of the Hadrian’s wall path. Easy walk to many restaurant choices.

Our three night stay in the loft flat was pleasurable. The kitchen came with milk, coffee, tea, crumpets, and butter. The staff were lovely and helpful. Loved the bar/restaurant. Comfy bed and plenty of room to spread out.

Stayed in an apartment just around the corner. Really lovely.

Lovely staff, food & excellent room

One of best places to stay in city centre.

Great place to stay. Very central with a nice bar on the ground floor. Highly recommended.

In general i couldnt fault the accommodation, however we had a wedding at a nearby location at 3pm and asked to check in a little early and was told that was not possible. Being flexible maybe half an hour would have nade the stay perfect.

Staff were amazing. So friendly and lovely

Stunning hotel and amazing atmosphere , 5 minutes from the train station , the 1 bed apartment exceeding my expectations, the bed was amazingly comfortable and the place was spotless with some crumpets and butter and milk in the fridge was just a brilliant touch , full sky tv and the shower is brand new

Stayed for one night, on our way back down from Scotland. Had a lovely time here, and wished we could have stayed longer.
Arrived around 6pm, very easy parking and checking in to our room. Then had a lovely meal downstairs in the Penny Blue restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was served very quickly, and the staff were attentive.
The room itself was excellent, very spacious with a comfortable bed. It did get a little warm in the night for our taste, but they had a fan available which helped. It’s an apartment hotel, so came with a very well kitted out kitchen. Great for self catering, but we chose the breakfast restaurant downstairs. They did us a nice poached egg breakfast.
Perfect location to explore the town centre, cathedral and castle. We checked out at 11, and went to explore the town. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, no problem applying the parking discounts later in the day.
Note that the car park can get very busy, it was pretty much full when we loaded our suitcases at 11, and when we left a few hours later.

Beautiful rooms and exceptional staff. Exceeded expectations.

One night stopover on our journey to Inverness. Room was spacious and well appointed, staff were uniformly friendly and efficient and food (both evening meal and breakfast) was excellent
4.7
The apartment is spacious except for the sink in the master bathroom. Keep the water very low as not to soak the room.
It was lovely. We would definitely stay here again.

Had a great time at The Halston. Room was large & spacious & beds really comfortable. Bar & restaurants were great & food was delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
4.7
Really appreciated the kitchenette for breakfasts. Italian next door was excellent. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Didn’t appreciate so much the smoking right outside the front door had to pass through second hand smoke to get in or out.
4.7
A perfect place for our anniversary. I can’t wait to return!
4.7
Perfect place to relax and unwind

The staff was very helpful, the food and the standard of accommodation were very good. A family member had a free upgrade so we were in adjoining rooms. The public off-street car park is adjacent to the hotel. Whilst it is not free the the hotel has arranged a 20% discount for its residents. For those travelling by train, the hotel is very close to the railway station.
4.7
Very disappointed, the room was poorly cleaned. Was expecting a better response to my genuine grievance. Absolutely disgusting mess under the bed, obviously not been cleaned for months. Rooms need painted. Anyway lesson learnt.
4.7
The booking did not make it clear that the room was outside the hotel and that it would be up stairs without a lift. I am 78 years old, I had a large suitcase and nobody offered to assist. I was greatly disappointed with this location, I had booked a room @ The Halston but which was not clear on the booking this was down the road in a foreign city & country so not ideal.

This is a lovely property, stayed in one of the townhouses. Very comfortable and exceptionally fitted out . Also dined at Penny Blue , food was wonderful.
4.7
Quirky apartment complex. High quality fixtures and fittings, immaculately clean, staff really welcoming. Only negative is weekend bar noise from adjacent club.
4.7
Amazingly comfortable apartment. Wonderful staff!

Nice place to stay

Excellent accommodations and Mike was super helpful with getting all our luggage upstairs.
4.7
Property in centrally located, with a large (payable) car park to the rear.
The rooms are clean, tidy and spacious. The apartments come equipt with all household appliances (not a hob but has a oven) and accessories.
4.7
What a wonderful hotel is the Halston. Just a short walk from the station and easy walking to the Castle, Cathedral and city centre.
It was so lovely to have an apartment at a reasonable price with the extra space of a lounge area and a kitchen with a fridge! Not common in the UK.. the included cookies and crumpets were very much appreciated.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the premises and friendly staff

Noise and heat spoilt our stay. First off, I’d like to start on a positive and explain how exceptional the apartment was in terms of quality and space. I was very impressed but unfortunately this quickly subsided when I realised how hot the apartment was. With various of portable fans in the apartment, it’s clear I wasn’t the only guest to complain there is NO air con. With windows wide open facing the main road, the VERY LOUD noise from pubs and party goers was unbearable. There is a taxi rank direct outside room 106 windows. This made the stay awful, with loud drunk people outside the bedroom window until 3/4am. What a shame as it has so much potential, just ruined our weekend
4.7
Stayed for the night in room 108 was absolutely brilliant best hotel we have stayed in. Loads of room bed was the best iv slept in such a long time. Definitely recommend it.
4.7
The hotel is VERY nice and the room we got was awesome. The area has seen better days although it is being renovated. The bar action is heavy, so it can be loud very late at night. Very good dinning options nearby.
4.7
The place was noisy with a wine bar underneath and busy street noise
Plus a party precinct on fridays and Saturday
4.7
Lovely comfortable and clean bedroom ,the crumpets a bonus .
4.7
The only problem was we were on the top floor with a lovely room with sloping ceilings which as we are both tall caused a few head bangs. Had we realised we should have asked for a change of room. The rooms are well furnished and the kitchen well equipped with a welcome pack of crumpets and jams for breakfast which was a lovely touch. Penny Blue was excellent for dinner and highly recommend as a dining option.
