The hotel and parking was great the double bed was not a double it was a big single so not good for a couple

Lovely stay for an overnight visit. Very close to the high street.
Is a little dated but this time of year it fit the season perfectly giving it a cosy winter feel.
Room was spacious, had everything you’d need for a few days stay. Nice and quiet too

Good hotel, room was nicely presented and clean. Pressure from the shower wasn’t great and floor was very slippy when getting out. The fan on the wall randomly started making a loud noise at 7.30am which woke us up! Very squeaky floorboards so can hear every movement from room above.
Overall thou we had a pleasant stay and breakfast was good value.

We stayed in a double room, it was perfect for what it coat. Clean, fresh beeding and comfy bed..Excellent size bar area, and the parking is perfect.

Check in was slow and poor. We arrived at 1.00 pm knowing check in was 4.00 pm but completed paperwork and told to come back at 3.45 Arrived back at 3.55 and was told not sure if room was ready and to wait for 5 mins. Some 20 mins later we had not been approached so went back to the desk to be given the door card with no mention of anything. The rooms are dim tired and dated. They appear clean if you don’t look to hard but I am a facilities manager so I look hard. Bathroom floor must have not seen a mop or a wash for a while and room generally dusty. Hotels. Com had this rated as 4 star. I would suggest 3 star then expectations would be lower

Brought for a present for my daughter and she thoroughly enjoyed her stay.

The car park is not free, it is owned by a private business not the hotel. Although convenient, it was charged at £12 for the night.

Hotel and room where lovely . The bar opened at 4.30 and closed at 11 which meant it was closed on arrival and closed after returning from concert . Also when we asked for extra teas and coffees for room on return. The reception was un manned . When a member of staff turned up he basic did not care . I said i was surprised by his lack of service . To which he said ' not his problem ' .terrible advert for hotel and poor attitude to a paying customer. To top it all ,twice staff enter room with pass key without knocking first . Shame as hotel is lovely but would never stay there again.

Lovely quiet room on ground floor, great shower & comfortable bed, good nights sleep!

Visiting this hotel was like visiting my grandma's house: comfortably worn and immaculately clean. It was an interesting mix of new and old. New mattresses with antique-looking chandeliers. Beautiful new bathrooms (great showers!) and out-of-fashion carpet. I love it. This eclectic mix is just my style.
The front desk service was welcoming and comprehensive. The staff gave great directions, as the rooms were around a restaurant and then another corner. The pool allows 6 people maximum, so it's recommended to book a swim time when you arrive although we had no problem booking for an immediate swim. The hot tub was sandy and the water was quite chlorinated.
Our family room was comfortable. There wa a large wardrobe, desk, cabinet with TV, double bed and bunk beds. The mattresses were firm and springy. The linens are crisp, clean, and white.
The reason I docked a star is because the housekeeper should be given 5 more minutes per room. The lamps were dusty and when I flipped over the bathroom floor mat after showering, the bottom had dirt smudges.

A brilliant stay lovely room friendly staff and all round good weekend stay

This was above my usual rate but I was impressed. Staff were excellent - bar and reception and I loved heated towel racks and my swim in the pool!

3 hour trip from Eastbourne, very pleased with the cleanliness and look of the hotel. Staff very friendly. Car park easy to find. However the bed was very uncomfortable and we could feel the springs so had to lay on top of the duvet. Bed was also very clearly two singles pushed together as the sheet did not fit properly.
4.0
A character hotel, all the staff were helpful but due to the age of the hotel the floorboards throughout were extremely creaky. We had to leave very early morning and found it difficult to creep around quietly. Would have been nice to have had bottled water in the bedrooms, some herbal or decaff teas.

Good, friendly staff, good bar and restaurant area. The room was small, looked tired and the bed width was under 4ft. Not good for 2 people of average build

Room 203 which is by a busy road as well as a karaoke bar. No AC in room so had to keep window open in August which meant that every noise was heard. Being woken up in the night was regular. Also, we placed the please make my room up on our door in the morning and came back at 1830 and our room had not been made up. General facilities were good but service as well as room being located by a busy road with no AC was poor.

Worst and I mean WORST place.
Unable to sleep due to the heat no air conditioning and pool smell urine and jazucci smells and even colour was green yellow.
Sand on the carpet in bedroom
Only 75 plus people no family’s.
Hotel is not suitable for family better of checking in somehear else next time with my little family.
So much nice good hotels I noticed closer to beach and BETTER price, and rooms look much modern, never mind I know now for next time

We enjoyed the stay, staff were friendly and helpful. The car park was very expensive for guests. The check in time is really late 4pm and check out at 11am is too early. The hotel is expensive when you do not get 24 hour stay.

Only booked for one night and no food in the evening available. Very poor provision in the room. Breakfast mediocre. Very disappointing visit.

An old traditional Victorian hotel, with period features and a warm welcome as you enter the hotel. Creeky floorboards on corridors and what appears to be decor that’s trying to look authentic to the period, however comes across as out of date. The room was spacious and well equipped with things like, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and coat hangers. Tea and coffee facilities in the room as well. Bathroom has a bath and a very good hot shower, despite its dated look. Some unnecessary items in the room, for example a very old looking trouser press and a washing line in the bathroom.
Some recommendations for the room would be to upgrade the furniture, as was old and extremely worn also the thick heavy curtains didn’t match the decor in the room, which I’m guessing was meant to be a Victorian style. Also the room needed a very thorough dusting from floor to ceiling. Bed was very big and comfortable.
On the whole a good comfortable stay with a few details that need addressing.

We booked an "executive" room and I dread to think what a standard room was like.. Very tired and very beige. No nice touches which you usually get in a higher grade room. No complimentary toiletries, no complimentary bottled water and the bathroom was not great as repairs had been made in some areas but not carefully. Would not rebook. Agreat shame as the exterior is elegant.

The accessibility options were great

The property is very tired and sad looking, a 70's/80's vibe.Numerous maintenence issues. All windows and swimming pool area need cleaning. Basic breakfast, smell of urine in dining area. it is a great location and beds were okay. We paid over £450.00 not value for money.

Very nice hotel, but rather old fashioned with very creaky floors!

I’ve been coming here for many years. However, after the change in management it now seems to be catering for the plus 75 year olds. Not a problem but the overall standards/facilities/rooms are not as good.

Room not ready even though garentee 4pm check in which is already a late check in time bar not open even though advertised open from 12 noon opened about 4-20 pm room is hot no fan or air con wall mirror was wonky & loose had staff walk in room no knock or apologies missing food items off breakfast however great location jacuzzi & pool great addition with towels supplied big room comfy beds nice pillows parking is good & easy £12 for 24 hours it's not the best but not the worst would stay again but only as last resort
1.5
This used to be a nice hotel. Since the change of ownership it has gone substantially downhill. One can no longer pay for parking at the check in. One cannot put drinks on one's room at the bar. There is no air conditioning. The elevator is painfully slow.
Hotel now catesr solely for coach trips. Not good for the individual traveller. There are better hotels in Bournemouth

Very clean

Unsuitable bathroom for a disabled person, no air conditioning it was oppressive in the room, had an electric fan but that stopped working on the last night. No toiletries, no fridge but a cupboard space available for one, no bottles of water in the room. The staff were very pleasant but when asked about some missing clothes we were told that nothing had been reported by housekeeping, l was shown the book which had no record of my three missing items, after some persistence from me the receptionist actually found two of the items, again l had to persist regarding the third item, the housekeeper then turned up with the said item. Advice for any visitor with mobility problems this is not the hotel fir you, it is on a very steep hill which would not take my mobility scooter.
