Upon arrival to our hotel I approached the reception desk and asked to check in, the receptionist looked blankly at me and didnt respond as expected. We did arrive early and expected to use the luggage room but were advised the room was ready, so this was useful.
There were removation works ongoing, of which we were not informed of prior to our visit.
Once we dropped our bags to our room, we left our room amd headed to the lifts, the fire alarm sounded which was quite alerting. We then used the stairs and found it was a test, the receptionist did not make us aware of this and a A4 size notice was on one wall on ground level. Staff at reception I feel should have told us about this at check in.
Our room was modern and very nice but was cold. The heating didnt work properly but we were only there for 1 night, so didnt see help to resolve this as we took winter clothes with us.
Someone also walked in our room at 7.30 and woke us up. They then left the room and the door didn't close properly, i dont know who entered the room. A cleaner knockee at 9am to which check out is 11am, they said they would return later.

Great desk people. Clean. Good kitchenette. Only huge issue was the heat kept coming on despite us turning DOWN the thermostat. It was literally roasting in our room all night. Had to actually open the patio door in sub 40’s weather during the night to get any sleep. 2 of the worst sleep nights we’ve had in a long time.

Our room faced the open air bar/club next door so we could hear that noise late into the night. Shower was a bit banged up/missing grout & the only toiletry supplied was a hair & body wash combo. Staff was great, room was clean, we got into our room early & they stored our luggage after check-out as we had a late day flight. Bars & restaurants in the area & Dublin is very walkable.

Wonderful desk staff. Liam, Sophia, Diyar (sp) & Ashley were wonderfully helpful. The hotels right in the middle of Center City North about two blocks from The Spire, evev Temple Bar and the river were in walking distance.

I have stayed in many hotels and I have to say this was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in. When I sat on the mattress, it sunk so deep I though I was going to end up on the floor.
Not sure about the placement of the water glasses on the shelf behind the toilet

Room was fine and as expected. Location was good. However night 2 they were having their annual cleaning of the kitchen exhaust system which they would have known well in advance. It was an extremely noisy night until they finished which was around 2:30-2:45 am. No warning was given to guests and no compensation such as 25-50% off for breakfast or dinner etc. This annual disrupting day could be handled so much better

Very good location, close to O'Connors St, Temple Bar (the famous bohemian neighborhood) and other attractions and museums. The private cafe right after the entrance has good options

Very nice and convenient hotel. Within walking distance of shopping, entertainment and restaurants.

I give it 5 stars, but I don't mean it is a 5 star hotel, I mean it is good for a hotel on the budget end. Of course "budget" hotel in Ireland is still really expensive. The rooms are VERY small, and you will be tripping over things. And of course it has that ubiquitous Irish half shower wall. But service was good, breakfast was fine (well, a bit overpriced for what it was actually), mostly quiet, clean.

Really wonderful hotel. Great location, beautiful spacious rooms with new modern furniture, and comfortable beds. Only issue was some cleaner/air freshener they use is quite strong but thankfully didn’t give me a migraine.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the coffee bar in the lobby. The rooms are nicely appointed, but could use a small refrigerator. The bathrooms could use a little renovation TLC, but it was all perfectly fine. The location was great and provided easy access to many of the attractions we wanted to visit.

Very convenient location. The Aircoach stop is steps away. Close to one of the main streets of the city, but still very quiet.
Bathroom is recently renovated and very clean.)

The hotel was in a great location. The Aircoach bus from the airport dropped us off within a 5 minutes walk distance at O’Connel Street Upper. The hotel was very clean. I would have given it a five except that the room was very small and the floor tiles in the bathroom were loose because the grout had deteriorated and not been replaced. Some of the tiles had been caulked together rather poorly giving it a not so skilled DIY kind of look. Other than that the hotel was nice.

Loved my stay at the academy plaza. With the location just off O'Connell street it's super central and walking distance to a lot of thing. The hotel room was lovely and the star very friendly and helpful.
Only thing I would request is better ventilation in the gym, but it did have a good selection of equipment if that's what you're looking for.

I didn’t realize how close it was to everything. It served its purpose. It’s a place to sleep and convenient to walk to everything. 16 &41 bus stops to/from the airport are right around the corner.

The hotel was very average and a bit of a let down due to high price. Many of the windows are look out to a beer garden which can be noisy and not nice looking. Breakfast was poor, it would be much better if the food was fresh. At 8 am the food already tasted like it had sit there for hours. Positive thing was that it was clean.
