Great hotel for exploring Edinburgh, right beside tram stop. Hotel was simple but clean and fresh and had everything we needed

Visit to the Christmas Markets

All good for me, room was comfortable and a good location for getting the tram in/out of Edinburgh. Not sure if the thermostat was stuck at 22degrees in the room as it didn't seem to let me change it, but didn't adversely affect my stay.

John from Suffolk - check in, welcome, room comfort, late bar and hot food excellent.
Did though miss tea making in room and it's nowhere near Edinburgh Park. I arrived at rail station to find 25 min walk.
Should be renamed Gyle & tram stop quoted as better approach.

Excellent. Staff friendly. Great location for catching the tram. Room clean and fresh. All we needed. Free coffe, tea and water 24 hours a fay down stairs.

Staff on arrival were professional and easy friendly - that’s rare these days. They appeared to be just a better quality than often found in budget hotels. They looked you in the eye and seemed to actually enjoy their job! I felt immediately happy to be there. They intentionally described all that was available during our stay and nothing was a bother.
The room was spotless clean. It’s a new hotel so that helped. Placed in a business park means it’s peaceful and quiet. Right by the tram and shopping. You should describe that in your location on the hotel description! It’s a real selling point and you’re not promoting the tram, just a few stops to Edinburgh, the shops or the peace and you should! You should also promote the dining area- I wish we had known there was a microwave to use freely and the tea and coffee on tap 24 hrs - you need to promote these in the hotel description more evidently! It was so good to have these things!
Loved the little attention to detail like picnic tables at the front and the jogging route map on the wall and the drinks fridge 24/7 and an umbrella loan stand. These are the things that make a hotel a home from home that cares!
Overall you should be chuffed with yourselves- don’t let the corporate or aging with time let you loose this edge you have! Keep it fresh, keep being generous with facilities - you’re a breath of fresh air in a tired hotel world!

Firstly this is a budget hotel, so very limited choice of cold buffet breakfast and pizza/panini 24 hour availablity for a hot snack and a limited bar for a beer or two, BUT with that said, Hotel Ibis Budget is a perfect place to stay for events in Edinburgh, with a tram stop just a 4 minute walk!!! The hotel is warm, welcoming, exceptionally clean and the room has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Really comfy bed, excellent shower and a TV, spot on. There's free tea and coffee in the lounge/foyer area and a lift to all floors. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and housekeeping is very good. There's a large Morrisons and shopping centre next to the tram stop. The location is superb, very quiet and very safe. We are definitely going to stay here again next time we visit Edinburgh.

Well situated, clean but very basic. It’s called a budget hotel and that is exactly what it is. Bed was comfortable, room had individually controlled heating, so that was a bonus. Plenty of hot water when showering.
The rooms are extremely compact so would recommend you know your travelling companion very well.
Free tea and coffee was a great bonus

Budget hotel for early flight. Son loved the bunk bed, room small but clean and functional. Would recommend.

Overall good value for money paid.

It was a pleasant stay at the property and close to train stations with a reasonable rate

A plain hotel for those who just need a place to sleep. Beds were good. Tram close by. Plain continental breakfast, but you get full.
We left in the morning and came back in the evening. A store not far away where you can buy food and beverages. Served our need for 2 nights. Some staff very friendly, others never even said hello.

Room had everything I needed - bed was comfy, AC worked and it was quiet. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small shop/fridge with basic supplies which is useful. I didn’t have any food but the pizza looked good. Lots of people taking advantage of the free tea and coffee. It is a budget hotel but no complaints whatsoever- stayed before & will again. Less than 5 min walk to the tram.

Basic room but clean and comfortable stay near the airport and South Gyle shopping and tram station. Good breakfast. My only wish was that a hairdryer had been in the bathroom.

The Ibis provided a reasonably priced room for the evening before we caught our flight. Very comfortable and well designed.

Rooms are tiny and cramped. Only one pillow per twin bed. It wasn’t ideal for us and our large suitcases.
Breakfast was very good; much better than what we expected for a budget hotel.

Convenient to airport. Close to tram and shopping mall. Accommodating staff.

It was just okay, certainly not anything to write home about.

Convenient. Simple.

It is a very budget hotel which is not worth the savings. Yes it generally is a lower price to the center or even surrounding hotels but the rooms are tiny, the shower and toilet are right in the room and there is no privacy. Even for a close couple the toilet provides no privacy. Fine for solo travelers. It is well situated next to a tram stop and a mall for groceries. Spend the extra few dollars to stay elsewhere.

This hotel was truly a budget hotel. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is fine. The room was teeny but very clean. The beds were comfortable but small and only one pillow each. Bath towels only - no hand towels. Temperature control was not an issue. The room was quiet. The shower arrangement was odd - in the main bedroom and we were 2 women travelling together. The staff were friendly and efficient. Food offerings were limited. It was ~£14 to the airport in a cab.

Good and budget one.

Rooms are not what they appear to be in the photos!!! Dirty, cramped, beds are like boards and super narrow, bugs in the rooms, no dinning choices in or nearby…this is barely a step up from a rundown hostel! Do not stay here even if it is cheaper, spend the extra for a cleaner place.

Location was good ,tram line across the road and Gyle Shopping Centre. Rooms remind me of a hospital. Definitely a budget hotel but not budget price

Not very close to airport or to the city

The property was excellent for our needs (last night before leaving Scotland so was close to the airport). I booked this hotel because the website claims free shuttle - which they do not have. Also it is in a business park so pretty limited on dining in the area, although a 15 minute walk provided a great dining experience.

It didn’t quite live up to the price point, but the staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and I had a good sleep. Right on the tram line, so super convenient too!

All of the staff were amazing.
The breakfast was delicious and many varieties of food. The staff that prepared the food did an amazing job.
Thank you and I can’t wait to come back .

No WiFi!!!!! (We were there for 3 days), not enough table/shelve to put stuff on, no hook in shower room

Room is small basic no amenities no iron , hair dryer, coffee maker, no shampoo. Very basic.

This is an extremely expensive hotel designed to maximise benefits in a tiny space for three people as was my case. The bathroom has no facilities to keep the soap, shampoo and other stuff the client must bring since the hotel only provides liquid soap. I learned the cleaning and the renewal of towels are done every three days after asking why my room was not made the second day I was there. The breakfast was not included even when I paid 250 pounds per night. This cost is the one for a 5-star hotel to be honest. No fridge, no wardrobe, no kettle, nothing more than the beds a tiny table and a tiny stool. A small TV is located in a corner which is uncomfortable to watch for all the passengers.

If you don't have any more demands than to sleepover this might be the place. However it is not cheep either and impossible to get any refund if a mayor airport kaos make one of your rooms redundant.
4.0
The room was ridiculously small. Only one person could walk around the bed at a time. Everyone in the room can watch you shower through the glass doors that aren't in a separate bathroom, but beside the bed. I was traveling with my brother and nephew. When we got to breakfast there were no bowls or glasses and when I went to buy a pop I was told they don't accept cash. The hotel was full and yet they had only 2 people running reception and the bar. The last complaint is their crappy internet none of us could get on all night. Pointed it out to them and they said they fixed it. Still didnt work. Very disappointed for the extreme cost of 1 night!

Comfortable beds, ac, close to shopping. Tram is 3 min walk which took us downtown.

I stay for 2 nights here before the booking they show me nice and big rooms but not in this price
