The personalized attention of our host Jerome. The spaciousness of the interior spaces. The relative isolation of the location and the natural surroundings.
The automatic light in the bathroom hallway that would disturb my daughter sleeping in the entry way bed.

It locates on the hill in Aix-an Provinces and is able to be accessed by 15 min drive by taxi. It was totally different from hustle of the central city. Very quiet and peaceful. Siting at the deck chair in the garden was blissful moment that made me hard to leave. Interior of rooms are decorated with modern province style in an excellent harmony. The dining room for breakfast is very beautiful having a grand piano and fireplace and many paintings on the wall. Of course the owner is very thoughtful and kind to me. Thanks so much!

Jerome was an excellent host. He was kind and attentive, and his suggestions for restaurants and outings were right on! he drove us to the historical center on the first evening when we were still dazed and confused. over all everything was excellent and welcoming.
Absolutely nothing.

Bkft was excellent. Great host. Beautiful presentation. So cozy.
Quiet. Great place to put up your feet and relax, and disappear for a day or so.
Accommodations was a rustic setting over looking the valley. Room was large and very comfortable.
Would stay there again, no question. I’m so happy I reserved it.

to say it had “character” wouldn’t begin to describe this property! I lived in France for awhile over 45 yrs ago and this property encapsulated everything I loved about this country and miss to this day : the depth of long-standing history, respect for the past, unpretentious genuine hospitality and old world charm. to stay here is to experience the magic of this marvelous land.
The space was immaculate, quiet, parking on site (free), well equipped (comfortable bathroom with shampoo , decent linens etc) good wifi and very comfortable beds. The breakfast was both delicious and huge: multiple breads (including a specialty bread topped with melted goat cheese )croissants and various pastries. Eggs were offered and provided. juice and hot beverage as well of course. All this on lovely bone china in a charming family room centered with a grand piano which the owner plays in the evening. Now situate this in the countryside inside an ancient Hunting Lodge begun in the Middle Ages (additions in the 18th-20th century.) The family lives here still today and to top it all off: the entire home is covered with art created by the 94 yr old mother over her life (I’m assuming). The home is an eclectic juxtaposition of old furniture and accessories with their modern, brilliant colored modern art (paintings, collages, sculptures ) of her creation! Much more could be said but in brief: it was a treasure find in a most unexpected place. Thank you !!
Part of the charm is also something that may be difficult for some: the location is removed from the main part of Aix. (Easily accessible with car however). The building is ancient so there are small steep steps up to the room and no elevator. a challenge if you have mobility issues to say the least.

We loved everything about this stay! The outside and inside of the property were beautiful. Our room was comfortable and full of unique details. We enjoyed the pool and the lovely breakfasts. The host was very kind and helped us with transportation and any other questions we had. We wish we could have stayed for longer and could not recommend it more!

Pavillion is a charming place. Staying there felt like a dream come true.
Jerome is the kindest host ever. Thank you so much for everything!

Lovely, quirky, tasteful old shooting lodge sitting up on a hill overlooking Aix. Photos dont do this place justice. Jerome's attention to detail was exceptional, from the beautifully set tables with perfect white linen and different coloured cutlery and crockery to match the theme. The art work all round the house, by the owners mother, was exquisite. We had a suite of rooms with very large terrace from which we could see some wild boars at night. Jerome was a fantastic host who gave us lots of useful information about the area. Best coffee since I arrived in France a week ago with fresh milk!
That we had to leave.

If you are lucky enough to come across this booking (and it is available), do not hesitate! The entire experience was magical. From our host, who reached out with driving instructions prior to our arrival, to the property itself, quiet and impeccable, and all the extra touches, this is THE place to stay. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

Beautiful very peaceful and unique place immersed in nature, perfect for people that want to relax. The owner is very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The lovely city of Aix is only a short car drive away.
Everything was perfect

Jerome & Sauzade’s home is a beautiful and peaceful haven, glorious views, wonderful hospitality yet very private too. Breakfast was fresh and delicious (in the piano room, Chopin playing in the background), pool lovely and looking out over Aix. This was a blissful retreat and we would return in a heartbeat.
It is a 10 min drive from buzzing Aix-en-Provence.
Top tips:
DO NOT rely on your sat Nav for last 10 mins of journey to house- you must use the directions that Jerome sends you in advance- otherwise you will end up being routed down a road that has been non existent for years.
There is an outdoor kitchen by the pool with a fridge, microwave and BBQ. We did not use it but it’s helpful to know it is there!
The bedroom image and description showed/mentioned only a bath, there was a lovely waterfall shower too!
We were disorganised on arrival and had not thought about our evening meal- Deliveroo couldn’t find the house but UberEats could- lots of local eateries deliver.
Jerome will give you the local taxi number and excellent restaurant recommendations. Recommend you use Jerome’s number for taxis (€12 into town) as Uber drivers were variable in their willingness to venture up to the forest! Coming home from town used a cab from the main taxI rank - no problem 😀

The property is stunning and it will exceed your expectations! Really quite and calm, spacious and beautifully decorated rooms, breathtaking view while enjoying the swimming and super friendly and attentive staff.
The breakfast was typical french full of pastries, bread and condiments-it was delicious but heavy. Adding some healthy options for breakfast would be much appreciated as well :)
