About this apartment rental
Summary:
The classic Nyhavn property built in half-timbering style has almost 400 years of history. If only the walls could talk you would hear stories of how sailors came ashore, got drunk, got tattoos and wooed local girls right here in this charming courtyard. On the third floor we recently restored this massive penthouse with modern features but all the historic details kept in place. Get ready for a luxurious experience through time.
The Space:
A TOUR OF THE PLACE
At the calmer end of Nyhavn closeby the newly built Skuespilshuset (Royal Theater) number 63 leads you into a charming courtyard with a cosy cafe where you can enjoy a laidback breakfast.
The stairs (no elevator) leads you to the third floor where you’ll find the entrance to the Penthouse.
At the entrance you can leave your luggages and overcoats.
To the left the double shower and to the right a bathroom with two separate toilets and a beautiful full size mirror.
The spacious and cosy open kitchen and living room has a fully stocked kitchen with a counter and bar chairs for the kids to engage in dinner making or pre-dinner drinks.
At the big dining table for 10 you can enjoy home cooked sunday dinner or breakfast before heading out to explore.
The lounge area has comfortable seating, a 50” Samsung SmartTV with free Netflix account and a sofabed that unfolds to a high quality queensize (160x200cm) bed.
The three bedrooms in the main living area are all behind glasswalls with curtains for privacy and boosts kingsize (180x200cm) beds that can split into singles if preferred. All beds come with a hypoallergenic pillow selection and crisp hotel duvets.
The last bedroom also has a separate living area. The many different areas and hang out spots that can be closed off really perfects this penthouse for larger groups or bigger families travelling together.
The Neighborhood:
Nyhavn (New Harbour) is the most famous landmark of our city. With its picturesque wooden sailing ships along the canal filled with restaurants and hangout spots this is as charming as it gets. And with the penthouse situated in a historic courtyard behind it all you still get the feeling of living like a local. The new “kissing bridge” across the main canal connects the area to Christianshavn and Christiania in a short walk.
Getting Around:
The metro stops at Kongens Nytorv which is at the other end of Nyhavn, 5 minutes away. From there the airport is a 13 min. train ride.
