It was close to the hospital and a few staff members were nice.
First, we didn't receive the discount that's given to families that have someone in the hospital. Angela said that we had to mark it online when booking, somehow. How were we supposed to know that? We had someone in the hospital near death, and on top of that, we are from another state. The website Booking said nothing about a discount. The only reason I knew to ask was because the hospital told me to. Mind you, we hadn't paid yet. How hard would it be to give the discount? Then they placed us in a room with a broken t.v, and they were kind enough to move us immediately to another room. The hotel hallways have a terrible smell and just feel dirty. The room itself was okay. It looked clean, and it was comfortable, but they had extremely thin walls. The people upstairs were stomping around and would wake us up late at night or early in the morning. The last night in the hotel, I woke up at 2:40 in the morning because a crazy woman was screaming in the hallway for at least 5 minutes. It is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Obviously, the customers' actions are not your fault, but they add negatives to our stay.

I loved the value for this property, as well as nice updates inside the room.
The room was very muggy/ humid (that could be related to the warmer weather and the unit just getting started with the warmer temps)
The hot water in the shower was very like warm. The water in the sink could get scorching hot, yet the water in the shower would never get above a warm temperature.

The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The water pressure was horrible, took forever to shower. The AC did not work half of the time, then completely quit working the night before checkout.

No kitchen items. No wash clothes No towels asked several times for some. Kept promising to bring them never did.

Location was fine
The beds were not comfortable and made the room overpriced in value to me.

The entrance was a little tight.

Rooms were big, spacious and good amenities.
Location was great with only a 5 - 10 min taxi to the Downtown area.
I booked 2 rooms. One for myself and a business colleague.
On arrival they took both of our IDs and method of payment. We were both issued with receipts upon check out, but I later found out that they had billed myself for both rooms.
I had to call them from the UK and talk through it. And my business colleague then had to call up and make a payment and then they refunded myself. I lost £5 in the conversion rate.

Very attentive cleaning staff.
Coffee and breakfast availability wasn't consistent, put of four days it started rather late twice.
Room wasn't ready when I arrived at 5pm, had no bedding whatsoever.

Location was great - was there for events at Vanderbilt U. Parking was adequate.
Rooms need a remodel - very old, stains everywhere. Conditions were sub-standard for hotels nowadays. Staff was very uncommitted - did bare minimum. The "breakfast" was pre-packaged granola bars or stale pastries. Coffee was usually empty - requests for more went unfulfilled.

The location was excellent!
I had to ask for a hairdryer, glasses and cups as they are no longer kept in the room.

Jay was wonderful at front desk.
I am very upset with booking.com. I have used you exclusively to book my travels. I am now traveling to Vanderbilt Hospital for cancer. You charged me 147 dollars. Their site charged only 115, but I was stuck because I trusted you. YOU were supposed to get me the best price and you did not. I will never use you again, you have lost a lifetime customer. On top of that, the bed was the worst, the sheets didnt seem clean, the shower had someone else's hair in it and the garbage can had gooky stuff on the bottom of it that housekeeping didnt clean. It was dirty!

The staff tried to be helpful
Our room cost $273 for one night. The rooms are old and outdated. No amenities. Worst of all, we discovered that the door to our room never locked. You could simply push it open without use of a key card. This is a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I did notify management, but if you choose to stay here (please don’t), do not stay in room 439! It does not lock.
Also, between the noise of the refrigerator and the noise from the AC, it feels like you are sleeping on the tarmac of JFK airport.
If you plan to take a shower and want hot water, turn on the shower, then go downstairs, have a cup of coffee and a muffin, and when you return, the water might be warm.

the bathroom smelled like an open sewer.

I ran out of toilet paper my first day because the roll was already more tan halfway done when I arrived, and there was no extra toilet paper in the bathroom. I'm pretty sure the ceiling had mold because there were black spots throughout it. The hallway and my room also wreaked of marijuana. It was gross. For THAT price, I expected so much better.
The lack of attentiveness from the staff, the disgusting ceiling, the scent of marijuana that was getting into my room through the vents. I would have asked for a refund but I am not a Karen. For over $600 for only TWO nights, it was not worth it at all.
