About this apartment rental
STAY RIGHT IN THE CENTRE OF WINDSOR : VISIT WINDSOR CASTLE : RIVER THAMES : SUPERB SHOPPING : EASY ACCESS TO LONDON
9 The Courtyard is a well-appointed apartment situated in a secluded courtyard setting, with direct access to Windsor High Street. Just opposite is the Guildhall and a few steps away is the entrance to Windsor Castle, the largest castle in occupation. A short walk further on is the Theatre Royal which has many plays before they transfer to London. Cross the River Thames by pedestrian bridge and visit Eton – home of the famous College, which has educated many of the country’s Prime Ministers. Two miles out of town is Legoland, easily accessible by car, or use the shuttle bus from just outside the apartment on the High Street. The Changing of the Guard for the Castle can also be enjoyed from just outside your front door.
This is a NO SMOKING apartment. If you are a smoker please consider other guests and smoke outside.
The accommodation is on the second floor of a purpose built block, although there is a lift to save tired feet after exploring the superb shopping that Windsor has to offer. There is an attractively furnished living/dining room with views across the nearby roof tops and over the quiet courtyard which gives the property its name. The galley kitchen is superbly fitted with new cupboards and granite worksurfaces. There is a full oven and hob, integrated washer/dryer and concealed fridge with freezer compartment, a microwave oven, coffee machine and all the equipment you’d expect at home complete the facilities, although the close proximity of numerous excellent restaurants mean you need never cook unless you want to! There are two bedrooms sleeping four people in comfort – one is a double with crisp linens and lovely fabrics, dressing table and wardrobe whilst the second has twin beds, again with wardrobe and pretty fabrics. The large bathroom has a thermostatic shower over the bath, and a shaver point and heated towel rail. To the rear of the apartment is a park which is well equipped with a children’s play area, trees and seating – a green oasis in the centre of the town.
Our apartment has its own private secure parking space although a car is not necessary if you wish to have a holiday with us without driving around the area. Windsor is well served with public transport and access to London and Oxford is very easy.

Perfectly situated, only footsteps away from Windsor castle and two train stations which are great to get to London within 40 Minutes comfortably. It is quiet and yet in the middle of the city of Windsor. Loved it. Only im summer it gets somewhat warm in the rooms. Loved our stay with the really friendly and lovely landlords. Thanks again.

This is my husband and I’s second stay at this property and the second time was just as good as the first time in February of ‘23.
We appreciated our host working with us on meeting them at the property, as our flight was delayed and our luggage also delayed coming off the plane. Helen was easy to communicate with and very accommodating.
The property was again very clean, which we appreciate very much. Everything worked during our stay and we had absolutely no issues with anything. Helen also arranged for a mid stay clean as we were staying for 16 nights.
The property is also a great location for seeing all the sights of Windsor, but for also going other places in England. It is very central for going to London, Cotswalds, Dorset, pretty much anywhere.
We had such a wonderful time, we were quite sad to go home. We can’t explain it, but the property has such a nice feel to it that it feels like home to us. We even started saying at the end of our days out, “time to go home.”
We are looking forward to next year. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

The apartment is well located in central Windsor and has the benefit of a dedicated parking spot. It is nicely decorated and well provided for. The owners are very attentive to their guests and we would be very happy to stay there again. Bill and Angie.

This apartment was perfect for us this week. The location is absolutely wonderful with shopping, the train station, Windsor Castle, a big grocery store and tons of restaurants within a short walk.
The apartment was very clean and communication with the host was great! Any questions or problems we had she responded to within minutes. Would definitely stay here again.

Great apartment in the centre of Windsor
We had a marvellous week in Windsor. The apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed for the week just five minutes walk from the castle. Easy access to London meant we could make a couple of visits to the capital while we were there.
Helen provided us with lots of information about travel between Windsor and the centre of London before our stay which made planning so easy. A really enjoyable week.

Perfect location, every convenience and perfect hosts!
Helen and Nick are lovely hosts, who go the extra mile to make sure you are settled and comfortable. We were incredibly late arriving and they were very kind and generous in welcoming us and making sure we were OK. It's hard leaving here as this place now feels like home. Perfect location with the Castle across the road and every convenience nearby, however, it is incredibly quiet! I would highly recommend this to visitors to Windsor - very clean, comfortable, beautiful decorated - we actually spent more time in than out on some days! Thanks, Helen and Nick - you are superhosts!

My family of four adults LOVED Helen and Nick's flat. It was perfectly suited for our needs during our time in Windsor visiting my sister and partaking in events during the Royal Wedding. Helen was very accommodating and welcoming on our arrival, providing a bottle of wine, flowers, and a great reference binder on how to use the equipment in the flat. Also local maps/guidebooks were available. The flat was very clean, had a well-equipped kitchen with a good size refrigerator and clothes washer that was easy to use. The bath had clean towels and good storage. Sitting room with TV was comfortable. Bedrooms worked for our family, but beds were a little too firm. Flat had great natural light and it was quiet. WiFi was adequate. Couldn't ask for better location, as it was easily accessible via an alley to the High Street for shopping, groceries, pubs, and the train. Also was nice to have a parking space available. Hope to have an opportunity to stay here again. Would highly recommend!

Clean and well situated
This was an ideal holiday flat. It was clean and well equipped and the situation in Windsor was perfect. We didn't need a parking place but one was available. The owner was helpful but not intrusive. For our party of 3, the space was ideal.

Nice apartment on a excellent spot
Very neat and well equipped apartment. On one of the best spots of Windsor and with free parking!
My children aged 2 and 8 enjoyed the playground near the building and we loved to stroll through Windsor and Eton.

The flat is very nice and comfortable and we were within 5 minutes by foot from the Castle. The place is quiet and at night, it was easy to walk by the Thames or near the park of the castle in the long alley.
The owners are very sympathical and ready to help if there is a problem.
We spent a beautiful hot week in Windsor!

THIS IS A SMOKING APARTMENT. Awesome awesome AWESOME location. Extremely clean. Met and greeted and shown around. Owners go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Information booklet thorough and useful. Flowers on arrival and a small milk. Dish soap and some foodstuffs provided. The place is small but suitable. Living room furniture is very dated and uncomfortable. Decor dated but fitting. The sheets, best sheets ever! Even the knives were recently sharpened. Biggest let down was the smell of cigarettes consistently throughout...

Ideal to explore Windsor thoroughly.
My wife and I have enjoyed the facilities at No. 9 for many years, now, visiting 4/5 times each year giving us time to explore and get to know the area thoughly. A five minute walk takes us to the castle and/or the shops and ten minutes takes us to the riverside. We are within easy reach of glorious walks in and around Windsor Great Park including the famous Polo grounds and Royal Lodge. The Long Walk takes us from the castle gates to the Copper Horse, if you can manage the six miles or so there and back. So many other places could be mentioned ~ places only seen in travel brochures.
We are within easy reach of London by train or bus (with the help of our national bus passes) as well as being able to get to know many other interesting places. The facilities at the flat are ideal for such a stay and, as long our health and strength allows, I can't think of any reason why we should look elsewhere.

Wonderful property
My family and I stayed at this property in early June 2013. We were very happy with the flat and had no problems. Helen was very prompt in answering all my questions during the book process, and she went out of her way to be very helpful in everything related to the let.
My one concern when arriving was the fact that smoking is allowed in the unit, but there was absolutely NO smoking odor in the unit--NONE. My wife and I are very sensitive to smoking odors, but the only smoking we smelled was the occasional person down in the courtyard smoking.
The comment about the bath tub being rather high is accurate, but it was a non-issue for us.
Again, I cannot stress how pleased we were with the property and the experience of living there for one week. We already miss it!

My 83 years old father, my husband and I spent a lovely two weeks in this nice, extremely clean apartment. It is in an excellent location, right off of High Street and close walking distance to shops, castle, the Long Walk, train station and restaurants. There is a lovely park located right behind the apartment building as well. The apartment is very well equipped with excellent appliances. There are adequate pots, pans and utensils to cook with. The refrigerator is a tad small but the grocery store is an easy walk from the apartment. Everything was very well supplied from linens, towels, cleaning supplies, foil, etc. There is a booklet with all kinds of information about the various appliances, sights to see in the area - just about any question you may have is answered in it. The heating system worked very well as does the showers, washer and dryer.
Helen and Nick were most helpful and attentive. I did have a couple of questions and they immediately called me back and even offered to come to the apartment, which really wasn't necessary.
As I said, I was traveling with my 83 year old father. Things to note for someone who might be staying here with an elderly person are 1) the elevator works very well and was very helpful getting him to the third floor. 2) the furniture is very low and it was extremely difficult for him to get out of once he sat down and 3) the side of the tub is very high which was a challenge for him to climb over. Now, someone younger wouldn't think twice about this but I just wanted to mention this if you are thinking of staying here with an elderly person.
Finally, the place is extremely quiet (except for the Heathrow planes flying over)and you cannot escape them anywhere in this area). I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is considering staying here. It was a wonderful place to call "home" for the two week that we were here.
