Reasonable walk from station and town centre.Beefeater ten min walk.
Nothing really, just a small double room for a night's stay.
2.3
Good size parking if you needed it.
Nice quiet street and £7 by Uber to Town.
Bed was also comfortable with plenty of Hot water.
In general it does look like the Crescent needs a bit of TLC but all things considered it had everything required.
I would stay at the Crescent again for sure, especially if I was driving.
Fish pond needs some more water in it 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🦈🐠🐡

The room was ensuite. Bed was comfortable and clean.
A very small bathroom sink made it difficult to wash.
2.3
I only liked the free car parking
The pillows were extremely dirty. The bed mattress was extremely uncomfortable, and had something like holes in it. No matter what's your sleeping position, you will suffer a lot from the deformation of the mattress and the uneven thickness of the mattress.
The carpet does not seem clean.
The room smells like a smoking room.

front desk staff was very nice and engaging, room was alot bigger than I was expecting and was very comfortable.
2.3
okay for a overnight stay if you had a night out in Reading TC
like everywhere else I’ve stayed this year, no hot water to wash in the morning boiling kettle each time, like most hosts, many are cutting back on high energy bills.

I wanted somewhere cheap to stay as I was going on a work trip and just needed somewhere to crash at night, so i didn't have great expectations but I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was!
The room was cold and smelt like mens aftershave and the bed was basically a camp bed with a thin duvet. The shared bathroom was filthy with holes in the walls, a weak over bath shower, the toilet had an overflow pipe that was leaking into a bucket. The whole place doesn't appear to have anything done to it since the 1970's. The lights in the hallway weren't working. I could hear men talking through the walls each night until about 1am. I actually didn't feel very safe there either and the place had quite a dodgy atmosphere.

It was a cheap room. I was stuck in Reading due to a train strike and needed a place to sleep. The young man at the front desk was friendly and helped me find my room. It was very old, very run down and the room was very basic, but clean.
The people in the room next to me came in at about 10:30pm and stayed up until nearly 3am making noise. The walls were so thin that it was like we were in the same room. Then, at 3am another group came in. They sounded drunk. Banging about and making loud noises. I hardly slept at all.
2.3
the people running the hotel were friendly and smiley
thin walls, one plug for the entire room, shower only had boiling hot or freezing water, water still in kettle from previous occupants, torn supermarket white bag instead of bin bag, filthy bin (black slime along the bottom) , hairdryer didn’t work
2.3
Nothing
Very bad room very small do not know how they have the front to call it a hotel I have stayed in hotels around the world and this is the worst place I have stayed

I was shocked when I first arrive. The pictures must have been well over ten years ago. They advertised bed and breakfast with a dining room and bar.
When I got there, the place was like bates hotel from the film psycho. The carpets were filthy, both landing smelled. The curtains were ripped. In the second floor where my room is was a sideboard thick with dust and the walls needed painting.
I felt dirty sleeping in the bed, I just couldn’t sleep because there was a man shouting all night. I had booked for three nights and just feel safe to stay another two. It was horrendous and felt I was duped.
If anyone reads this, please check the reviews on site about this hotel. If I had read the reviews, I would have never booked there in the first time.
Avoid if possible!!!
Everything!!

Very Small Bathroom no cold water
Place needs refurbishment

Nothing! This 'hotel' had all the appearances and attributes of being a halfway house for recovering alcoholics and crack addicts.
Nobody on reception overnight.
Room door had to be lifted up in order to lock it.
No wardrobe only a shelf unit that wasn't secure as it had been broken previously and then put back together with unsuitable fixings.
The carpet was absolutely disgusting with more stains than a tramps pants.
The walls looked as though they had been wiped down with said tramps pants and the curtains made from said tramps pants. There were brown lumps of God knows what stuck to the ceiling. There were unidentifiable splash marks on the wall next to my bed. One look at the bedding was all I needed to convince me NOT to use my UV light.
The pillows appeared to be the cheapest and thinnest that were available for purchase and two were crammed into one pillowcase. It states that towels were available...two hand towels were in the bathroom and looked like they had already been used! The bathroom itself was adequate for a stick insect as I was unable to have a shave in what was possibly the world's smallest handbasin. The bathroom door could only be closed by flipping the door handle completely up and over and wedging the handle against the door frame. The shower appeared to have been used as a shaving cubicle due to the amount of body hair that remained in the bottom.
The toilet itself was uncomfortable as the seat was not stable and I kept banging my knee off the toilet roll holder. The bathroom was made up of modern units and tiled nicely...it was crammed into what I would class as a broom cupboard! On a plus note, management had supplied the room with two complimentary packs of hand soaps about the same size as a fifty pence piece.
All in all, disgusting, filthy, smelly and personally I wouldn't recommend ANYONE to stay here.
2.3
Free parking good location to city centre, friendly staff
Terrible room,sink too small,hard pillows,flaking decor,curtains don't close properly,kettle leaked,thin mattress,main light didn't work,plastic teaspoons
2.3
Poor cleanliness. Dirty mattress cover, dust on skirting board. Cobwebs on bathroom window, across the open part. Small dead slug type things in the bath and on the floor.
2.3
Parking at the property is good and location from town is ideal.
Paid at check in and also through the booking.com website so had to void a charge, now waiting g for money to be credited. Room is very dated and decor in a poor condition. Both shower heads were awful and didn't really do the job needed. Curtain was too narrow for the window so couldn't really block out all the light.
No breakfast served service but was pre informed.

benefit was free parking!
I booked this hotel with my daughter to save an early drive/start for her graduation. I had read the mixed reviews but thought if charging that much, can’t possibly be that bad. Right? How wrong! From entering the front door it was dirty & unkempt looking. The bedroom: The bathroom door didn’t close, the door handle was backward plus had a spring so bounced open 2”…thankfully I was with someone I knew well & female as no privacy. The sink was tiny so just washing our faces meant the floor was covered in water. The toothbrush cup/stand had the water & scum from a previous person 🤮 My pillowcase wasn’t fitted correctly and when I turned it over to fix it had old blood stains on it. I pulled back the duvet as I like to unleash the feet…hotels tend to tuck in so tight, and there was a woodlice crawling inside which unfortunately met an untimely end (sorry). We got maybe 2-3hrs sleep as the room above guests made noise all night…even broke through the earplug barrier at 4am…they might as well have been in the room with us!! Absolutely would NOT recommend!
2.3
The bed was comfortable, the TV worked, the kettle worked and it had its own bathroom
Hairs in the bathroom and stains on the wall. One plug socket in the room. It was dirty in many places in our room. The curtains were broken. The whole place needs a refurb and a good clean.
I could go on..
2.3
Good location
Bed was uncomfortable decor needs attention
2.3
Friendly staff.
Whole building was old. Not very clean looking. Small repairs needed (broken tile in the bathroom).
2.3
Nothing
Staff were rude, room was not clean dirt on walls and bed and the bed was rock hard, when spoke to staff about it, he started getting very defensive and shouting in my face, it was awful, wouldn't even rate it a 1
