It was just a brilliant place to be and the staff were amazing especially with my daughter also.
4.2
Great location.
Bar service was slow and unenthusiastic.

Location in the city is fantastic. Queens' Street, Royal Mile, National Art museum and Edinburgh castle and more are within walking distance. Staff all extremely friend, courteous and professional. A shout out to Jules who worked in the bar during breakfast and evening dinner fantastic at herjob and extremely friendly as well. Breakfast served until 11am is a bonus.
Breakfast choice is limited. Parts of the breakfast were reheated by the microwave. Poached eggs were cooked fresh but the bacon with wasn't cooked fresh. Evening meals were better in particular the battered cod. On my last night I had the Buckfast pie. Disappointed as again reheated with microwave.

I like the location and the bar.
Room was dusty. There was no toilet brush. The bed was too small for 2 adults - and only one duvet to share.
4.2
Sunday roast was delicious and good value especially with 20% discount for hotel guests.
Rooms are small but fine for our stay.
Room was very warm. Can imagine it would be extremely hot in summer but there was a fan to help cool.

the Scottish theme of having rooms named after famous Scottish people was really cool. The staff were really helpful and the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was also good value, would definitely recommend.
There was no full length mirror which annoyed my wife. There were signs of repairs in the bathroom ( around the bath taps and under the sink ) The quality of the repairs was a bit shoddy and not what you would expect.
4.2
comfortable and clean room
poorly staffed at breakfast and crumbs everywhere
room was cold and noisy

Great location. Lovely rooms themed around Scottish icons
close to restaurants and attractions

Service was excellent and Bar was very nice and quite reasonably priced

staff are phenomenal, every interaction was brilliant and staff were on point.
only improvements I can recommend are add some new usb charging sockets to the rooms.
the Chris Hoy room has 3 small steps. I recommend light strips on each stair, we tripped during the night.

Nice room. Great location near to everything ie pubs shops the bar in the hotel was great for food and drinks
Could not find fault with anything

The location of the hotel is excellent for visiting the centre of the city, but also easy access to public transport. For example, the Airlink bus from/to the airport drops off and picks up just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable as a solo traveller. I made use of the breakfast option and had one meal at the hotel - fresh and great quality food and drinks all day.
Although the room was extremely clean and comfortable, there was a fair amount of noise from the side street below my window (early morning deliveries, etc).

Location is superb, ideal for a city centre. The public spaces were excellent
The room was somewhat tired, the flooring was lifting, the room was cold with neither the radiator or towel rail working. There was a dyson fan which blew heat but was too noisy. The room was noisy with either a generator from the hotel or an external source.
4.2
Great location, friendly staff, bijou but comfortable single room.
Got lucky and ended up in the Kelly MacDonald room. Doubt I would have slept if Rod Stewart had been leering down at me
4.2
Staff were lovely, great atmosphere in the bar and great place to spend new year's eve.
4.2
Lovely hotel in an excellent location for the new town. Staff were friendly and helpful and the bar in the hotel is great, very popular with non-guests too so it was nice and lively.
We were in the "John Hannah" room which was large and very well appointed, no view or sense of natural light was the only thing that let it down slightly but obviously that cannot be changed. Nespresso style coffee machine and tea cakes in the rooms each day was a nice touch.
Some confusion with itemised billing for extras charged to the room when we checked out.
Breakfast was excellent and included. However, a slight gripe of being charged £2 for one slice of toast as an additonal item to the full Scottish breakfast felt a bit cheeky!
4.2
Location good and quite a lively bar
Poor breakfast, one lift that had a capacity of two people. Rooms were uncomfortably hot and very small
4.2
lovely staff and good location. great bar
i like to be able to open a window in a room to get a little air and I could not do this.
4.2
lovely lovely place to stay. The staff was so kind and friendly and generous with their time and very helpful! breakfast was awesome!
we had a bit of a quirky setup in one of our rooms - no plugs beside the bed so hard to charge phones and use as alarms etc. also the desk and bed were so close one person had to climb over the other to get out of bed.
4.2
friendly staff, lovely decor in bar and great atmosphere
really noisy aircon, kept me awake. slightly dated decor in room and landing, food wasn’t as good as expected
