We've stayed with 8 friends in the house and had a really great time. The only room for improvement would be that the upper floor is getting really hot during summer, even with Sylvies cooling instruction, but I guess you can't avoid that during summer in France. Another point is that we had some really large spiders and centipede in the house, but I guess that's normal on the countryside as well. Especially since it's recommended to open the windows during the night for that cooling effect. Maybe a mosquito net in front of the windows could help. But as I already said we had a great time at Sylvies and those are just very small points for improvement. The amazing pool makes up ten time for it.
And it should be said, that Sylvies house is right next to it. So it is not completely solitary.

Lovely setting, well equipped house, especially for us with baby and toddler. The only let down was the weather!

Lovelly, old house in a large estate, with the owners property next door. About 10m from the local village. Superb 15m pool and surrounding area, great host, superb for wildlife, super relaxing.

Property brilliant. Pool magnificent. Lovely village within a 15 minute walk. Super restaurant and tabac. Everything you need really. Great place for visiting Carcassonne etc. Owner discreet, very welcoming and a nice bottle in the fridge for our arrival.

A comfortable property with a wonderful pool and a great location. Starting to show its age and could do with updating some facilities. Would also be nice if some effort was taken to accommodate international visitors who may not be fluent in French.

Lovely setup, very clean clean, good outdoor sitting areas, great pool. Only downsides we’re the mosquitoes and non existent Wi-Fi. Local village 3 mins drive which had local supermarket, patisserie and great little bar and plat du jour menu - simple but tasty.

We had trouble connecting with Sylvie upon our arrival....if you are from the states, ensure your phones will work! We did not understand that we needed to meet her at a specific time in the village at a tourism office. (The GPS doesn't match with the location and she needs to meet guests then take to the house.) The house is beautiful, roomy, we'll appointed, and everything we could want or imagine as our home-base for daily adventures to the Pyranees, the Sea, vineyards or historic sights. We loved it and Sylvie is so gracious!

Wirklich tolles Haus und eine sehr nette Gastgeberin. Selbst in der Sommerhitze drinnen angenehm kühl. Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht ist hier genau richtig, Auto ist jedoch Pflicht.

Beautiful setting, pretty little town.
Walks to the pastry place every morning. Cocktails watching the sun go down every night poolside. The scent of the countryside everywhere. Property is spectacular. Accommodations very comfortable. Kitchen was great as we cooked every night. Definitely would do this again.

Malgré le mauvais temps, la maison est bien située et nous a permis de visiter les joyaux de la région : de mirepoix à Carcassonne, et de castelnaudary au gouffre de cabrespine grace aux conseils de Sylvie.
Superbe feu pour se réchauffer le soir. Nous aurions aimé un tout petit peu plus de réseau pour faire les réservations en ligne pour le gouffre notamment mais les ados on fait leur sevrage !

Superbe Maison
La maison était impeccable, parfaitement aménagée et fonctionnelle. Sylvie l’hôte est très sympa et disponible. Seul petit « bémol », c’est le check out à 9h, un peu tôt quand le check-in est à 17h. Nous recommandons fortement cette location, idéalement située, au coeur d’un écrin de verdure, au calme. Nous avons passé de superbes vacances!

Ideaal voor personen die zoeken naar een vakantiewoning met rustige ligging. Goed uitgeruste/ingerichte authentieke vakantiewoning (geen luxe, maar alles is in orde en netjes). Vriendelijke eigenares met een aangename babbel. De woning paalt aan deze van eigenares, maar privacy is door afscheiding met natuurlijke elementen in de tuin gegarandeerd en wordt ook gerespecteerd. In een straal van ca. 60 km vind je ook alle belangrijke Katharensites.

Wonderful holiday house
A really lovely house adjacent to the owners country house in a picturesque part of the region - within easy reach of Carcassonne and all the local activities. Sylvie was incredibly helpful and this historic stable block is very comfortable and well appointed eg there are fans in every room. The pool is huge and you have it to yourself. Filou, the elderly Labrador, makes himself at home and gives the place a real family feel. A great base from which to explore the area and a pretty little village only a few mins away to get the morning bread. Supermarket very close by at Bram and airport only 5 mins away. Highly recommended. We were five adults but can sleep 8 comfortably.

Beautiful pool lovely location
The pool was amazing, large and plenty of natural shade most of the day with two parasols provided too. Not for diving but deep enough for us. This really made the property for us.
Montréal is a lovely village with good baker and restaurant or two and a beautiful church. Really close to Carcassonne airport and about 15 mins drive into C town centre and 20 mins to Mirepoix (not to be missed is market early Monday mornings). We found it convenient at Domaine and very secluded and quiet.
Well appointed kitchen and a good gas BBQ meant we ate in a lot with lovely local foods and supermarkets. Casti restaurant in mirepoix main square does a great sharing steak platter of 1kg grilled cote de boeuf. 2 of these fed 6 of us. Really tasty.
Only 2 loos but 4 showers and two baths. Water very hot so enough to go around.
Lots of bedroom furniture and beds were comfy but sofas a little dated and a bit uncomfortable but adequate. Huge kitchen dining table and two outside areas to dine. We ate outside several times and were visited by old Filou the dog who was very friendly. Overall a lovely farmhouse setting and plenty of space.
Sylvie was very helpful and had good English. Any little issues we had in the property were immediately attended to.
The only real gripes are the limited WiFi - it was there but you had to stand by the router to get on and it was weak at times and did t retain the password. We managed though. But don’t bring your laptop and work to Domaine de Toureille. You’re here to enjoy yourself.
We had fans in all bedrooms but with no AC it is stuffy at night.
Overall though we had a lovely stay and would recommend the area and the property.

Absolutely beautiful. Tastefully restored house.
This is a beautiful house. It's very private. Set in beautiful grounds. Very handy for Carcassonne airport. Yet peacefully tucked away down a country lane. It's attached to the owners property yet not over looked. The pool is a good size and a gorgeous setting. We were only a party of 4 so gave us loads of space. The ping pong table is very good quality and in a barn for shade. Unfortunately we weren't too lucky with the weather but that's just bad luck. There was lots to do in the area. Jean Claude met us on our arrival. He was very welcoming. Sylvie called into see us later with her very good English and made us very welcome and gave us very good advice for where to go and what to see and best days to go places. It's a stunning area. Carcassonne is a lovely place to visit. Lac de la Cavayère near Carcassonne was pretty and a nice walk around the whole lake (It's a 5km circuit). There are lovely markets in the area and a week wasn't long enough to do the area justice. Thank you Sylvie, lovely host. Filou and Itoun (apologies if spelt wrongly), the dogs were very sweet and wandered in and out. The kids loved them being around, like a home from home for us.

Charming house
I would not hesitate to recommend this house to people: it provided everything we needed from well-equipped accommodation through to a good location for outings to various activities, both cultural and active.
A minor downside was the lack of sun on the outside areas in the morning - possibly due to the growth of the trees over the summer - but this just encouraged us to do things in the morning and enjoy the property in the afternoon.
And finally, as others have said, the owner Sylvie was welcoming and helpful, and her dog Filou loved to visit.

Maison charmente dans cadre pastorale.
Nous venons de passer 2 semaines de vacances magnifiques dans une maison ancienne mais de tout confort avec une grande cuisene parfaitement equipée.
On a beaucoup apprécié le silence et le calme du domaine exceptionelle. La propriétaire est très accueillante, correcte, disponible et sympathique.
Le chien Filou nous a accompagné lors de notre visite à pied (20 minutes) chemin valloné, le matin au boulanger et au café pour prendre notre petit noir matinale . Piscine vraiment superbe avec vue exceptionelle sur les champs.

Highly recommended!!
We can only agree with what Paul S. said in his review of April 2015. Our party consisted of six adults and one child (aged three) and the size of the house meant that we could spread out and not be under each other's feet! The house itself was really charming and had all the facilities one required even though it's a very old building (but beautifully maintained). The grounds are extensive and well managed as is the large swimming pool a short walk from the house.
The village is only about 20 minutes walk away (uphill going but downhill coming back!) and Filou made numerous appearances both in the gardens and on the journey to the village. The village itself has a good selection of small shops and there is an Intermarche just outside the village with a Carrefour in the town of Bram, about three miles away.
Mustn't forget to mention Sylvie who was really helpful and who seemed to be on the go all the time.
All in all a wonderful stay and would recommend it.

Super bien
Maison super agréable, photo identiques à la réalité voir mieux. Tout confort. Rien ne manque pour passer un agréable séjour dans cette belle propriété.

Propriètaire discrete, et disponible si besoin.
Je recommande cette maison pour les familles, les chambres sont très spacieuses, les salles de bains également, propreté et déco sympa style ok pour la maison.
Commerces à moins de 10kms. Bord de mer à 1h au plus près, proche visites des monuments ou sites. Seul bémole manque un peu d'isolation phonique, mais pas dérangeant car les vacances se passent en éxtérieure.

Belle demeure
Beaucoup de plaisir en famille, dans une belle demeure très bien agencée, une très bonne literie et un lieu paisible pour des nuits de sommeil réparatrice. Deux terraces opposé pour jouer avec l'ombre et soleil à souhait.
Une piscine impeccable au milieu d'un parc aux arbres majestueux où jouent les écureuils et le matin au pied de la piscine les lapins gambadent.
Un grand merci à Sylvie pour le très chaleureux accueil et pour sa disponibilité.

A beautifully re-worked piece of French history
Built around the time Napoléon was being fitted for an unusual looking hat, this very lovely house adjoining an impressive domaine, has been most tastefully renovated by it's owner, the welcoming and highly helpful Sylvie. If a peaceful sojourn is required, you will find it here tucked neatly among beautiful trees, that very much allow for the sun on the terrace, but guarantee complete shelter from the wind (which any previous visitor to the South West will have experienced, and not just as a result of the garlic soufflé). We arrived with 5 potentially opinionated teenagers and a doctor, all of whom submitted reports that this was one of the best holidays we've had. Special mention should also go to our two new friends, Filou, and Brown Dog (we didn't catch her name) two local canine ambassadors who showed us the way home after a walk to Montreal, and were generally a delight. In short, having waffled, book a stay here if the South West is your chosen destination...within easy distance of Carcassonne, Mirepoix, the beach at Gruissan, and we even popped to Barcelona for a the day, I'm sure you'll have a lovely time to remember.

Super maison de vacances
Nous sommes arrivé à 7 pour passer 2 magnifiques semaines de vacances dans la région à visiter les châteaux. La maison est confortable et spacieuse, avec tout ce qu'il faut. Belles aires de détente pour prendre l'apéro. Les enfants ont adoré les grands espaces où jouer, et la propriétaire nous a donné plein de bons conseils sur les choses à faire dans la région. Je vous recommande fortement cette maison bien situé dans un environnement calme et bucolique, juste assez proche des axes routiers pour explorer avantageusement la région.

TRES BELLE LOCATION DANS LA VERDURE
Toute la famille a pu apprécier cette demeure charmante, joliment décorée et dont le jardin était très agréable. Idéalement située au calme, elle est cependant très bien localisée pour permettre la visite de la région. La grande piscine a plu aux petits et grands. Une semaine c'est trop court !

Magnifique domaine et maison de charme !
Tout d'abord l'accueil a été très chaleureux et sympathique. Et nous avons vraiment beaucoup apprécié ce magnifique domaine, autant l'extérieur que l'intérieur qui est décoré avec grand soin et bon goût. C'est incontestablement une maison de charme qui a tout le confort et l'espace qu'ont su apprécier nos 4 jeunes garçons (10 à 15 ans) et nous les (3) adultes pour la beauté du lieu, le calme, la nature, les grands arbres. Le chauffage a été nécessaire (un surplus de 11 euros seulement, selon le relevé de compteur au début et à la fin du séjour). Dommage que la cheminée ne marchait pas vraiment bien (pas de tirage) car elle aurait vraiment pu tempérer le rez-de-chaussée. Autre faiblesse, la télé d'en haut ne marche pas et celle d'en bas a quelques défaillances.
Mais nous garderons un très bon souvenir de ce domaine et recommandons vivement aux amoureux de la nature d'y aller. Il est très bien situé entre Carcassonne et Castelnaudary (à 15 km de l'une et l'autre) et proche de Toulouse, Narbonne et la mer. Ce beau domaine est conforme à l'annonce et aux photos publiées dans Homelidays.
