Very good location near Traverse City. Property needs a bit of an update - toaster oven does not work, water not drinkable. Great swimming pool
available on site. We enjoyed our stay.

I was impressed with how clean the property was! The beds were all very comfortable and the house stocked with everything we would expect to need at a rental.

The property was perfect for what we needed. It provided a great homebase for visiting Glen Lake, Fish Town, Crystal River and Traverse City. Would definitely stay here again!

The location is perfect as we love the beaches on Lake Michigan near Cedar. Having pool access was nice as well. It is nice that there are 2 cots to enable 8 to stay here. We had our daughter and her family for one night and that worked out well. The kitchen has all you need. It would be nice to have an updated blended to make smoothies. Great to have a washer and dryer! The beds are comfy! And the place was very clean. The down sides are the neighbor smokes on his back deck right next door, the sheets really need replacing and there is a musty smell in the townhouse. The pictures are accurate as it is an older unit but it does need updating.

Check in and location were great.
Would have liked to have a full set of measuring spoons to help with the baking/cooking I wanted to do. Only could find one 1/4 teaspoon.
A few small maintenance items are needed to be attended to and I reported them to the owner. He responded quickly.

Really enjoyed the towns around the location. Friendly neighbors. Quiet location.

clean, beautiful property, great swimming pool. Location is perfect because it’s close to Leland, Glenn Arbor, Lake Michigan, the best location to vacation.

Spacious condo great for families with children. There were plenty of board games provided by the owners which my kids loved. Upstairs bedroom for children has two twin beds in addition to 2 rollaway beds and pack n play in the closet. Condo had plenty of extra towels and blankets. Beds were comfortable including the newer futon in the living room which my 70 year old mother slept on. We also liked that it had 3 a/c units, a necessity in the summer. Condo was close to the pool as well. Pool is "heated" but felt pretty cold, even in early July. We visited the Sleeping Bear Dunes which was close by. Overall, a great stay!

We absolutely loved the location and I think we said it every day. We were able to go to a variety of locations under a 20-30 minute drive, and some places even shorter. The townhouse was very comfortable and had enough space for us and our adult children. It was nice to have the pool practically right outside our door. The one thing I wish the town had was a bigger grocery store near by. We ended up going into Traverse City for that. I would definitely stay here again because of location and the owner was quick to respond when we needed to contact him. If you stay here check out - sleeping bear dunes, good harbor beach, glen arbor, Sutton bay, traverse city and fish town. Fun little areas to spend a few hours and not far from the townhouse. This was definitely a great vacation.

We loved our stay at the Sugarloaf condo. A perfect landing place for our family of 7. Location is ideal within easy driving distance of Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Good Harbor Beach, Leeland and Traverse City. So much to do and explore in this area! The condo was as described - casual and comfortable. Easy access to the pool and our kids played soccer in the yard. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location to see the surrounding sites! Unit was clean. Would like to have had a few more towels and it would be nice to have an extra towel bar in the bathrooms.

Nice property
Property was nice. There were a lot of strict rules and had to sign a contract- which we never had to do before. No issues though.

Worked well for us. Owner communicated promptly, answered all questions, explained things
Very quiet. Lovely surroundings. It would be a stretch for 8. Ideal for 4. We had family at Glen
Lake so spent days there.

Quiet location perfect for our family’s trip to Northern Michigan
John communicated with us quickly every time: before, during, and after our stay. The property was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the bathrooms were fine. The pool was not open, nor did it have water in it. We visited Memorial Day weekend, but it was not open on Memorial Day. There were nice walking paths in the area. You will have to drive at least 10 miles to get to any restaurants. I would definitely stay again.

The best of everything
Staying here made us feel like we were in a private mountain community with beaches just around the corner! Pool was a great bonus. Our kids enjoyed the various streaming services on the TV. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room for the 6 of us. Very close to Leland which is our favorite spot. Hope to be back!

Good location
A friend and I stayed here with our kids. The location was great for seeing the sand dunes and cute, quaint towns. Kids loved coming home to a pool too.

Perfect Location!
Right in between two great up north towns, Leland and Glen Arbor. If you are looking for a nice spot to stay up north. This is the spot.

You better get the insurance or beware!
We have used VRBO before and we have never had an owner either make you buy and insurnace policy for your stay or demand a deposit about 10 times the nightly room rate before. We are not the type of people to trash anything so I almost didn't do the insurance, however I did not like the wording around the deposit policy so I opted for the insurance instead. The last night of our stay we tried to run the dishwasher as instructed for the checkout policy and we immediatly got a horrible smell of sewage that spread throught the condo (and lasted for about 3 hours). Nothing leaked, just something was wrong with the dishwasher. I texted the owner about it immediatly and he told me to stop the cycle and they would have it looked at, he though it was plugged. (all we put in the dishwasher were coffe cups and wines glasses) Yesterday I got an email from the insuance policy that a claim was made for the dishwasher. The dishwasher was not working properly when we got there. I contacted the owner immediatly when I realized there was a problem(which I didn't have to do), however IF I HADN'T purchased the insurance policy I can only imiagine that I would be out alot of money for an issue we didn't cause. This is just a heads up for anyone else considering renting this property. This seems pretty underhanded to me.

Great central location.
Location centralized to Traverse City, Fish Town and Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Expected impeccable Townhouse because of insurance purchased and copious instructions. The townhouse was clean but needs a little TLC.
Better instructions would help as to where towels and sheets, etc. for occupant 5 & 6 are. Finally found in master bedroom in closet. If we were going to use advertised portable bed there would not have been enough sheets/pillow cases. One extra towel was in master bedroom and one in 2nd bedroom but no washcloths for our 5th and 6th occupant.
The living room was missing a bulb in one of the lamps. One of the lamps in master bedroom didn’t work.
You are asked to wash your dishes before you leave but the coffee cups we used we felt we needed to wash before using. They had a gritty feeling. I feel just having occupant load used dishes in dishwasher for cleaning agency to wash would be a much better option and much more sanitary.
The throw rugs is the bathrooms appeared dirty so we rolled up and didn’t use.
As I said with a little TLC and this would be a great place to stay. These are small fixes but I feel are important.

Beautiful and Peaceful
Very easy renting process. Communication with the owners was top notch the entire time. The location is perfect for access to beautiful little towns in the area. All around great experience and definitely would recommend to others. Hoping to return again someday.

Nice place for families.
Enjoyed our week there with the grandkids. Great location, nice pool. Owner was awesome. Only negative was uneven deck boards, tripping hazard, but owner is contacting HOA to fix ASAP. Would stay there again!

Perfect location but townhouse requires some deep cleaning
This townhouse is located right in the middle of Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes which made it easier for us to visit both places with no much hassle. John has been very prompt in responding right from the very start that made us comfortable to communicate with him. Since the town home is old, it requires some deep cleaning in all areas. Entry key was placed in a difficult location near trash box that caused discomfort to access. Given that it is an old home, all the appliances were worn out and need some work. We experienced a foul smell as soon as we entered from kitchen sink but was fixed upon reporting within no time. Kitchen utensils need to be washed/replaced with some new dishes. AC unit was a bit noisy but did it's job. The only main suggestion would be to have deep cleaning done asap. All in all, since the location was perfect for our plan-we did have some good time in this home. Patio is a nice area to hang out. The property owner's impressive and prompt responses compensated few glitches in home.

Great location. Townhouse needs work.
Overall, we had a great stay. Great location. Close to a lot of things including a perfect little beach for our little kids. The creepy abandoned ski resort next door didn’t bother us. We were intrigued and learned more about it! Sounds like renovation will start in the near future.
We enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and larger deck. The pool was just yards from the deck and that was awesome for our 1, 3 and 5 year olds. Kind, welcoming neighbors too! Lots of green space to run around in the back. Parking was right by the entrance. Cable tv was fun for our kids since we don’t have it at home:) the airstrip nearby was super fun for the kids to see a couple prop planes take off.
There are a few things that could use some attention:
When we walked in the smell was, to be honest, nauseating. It was a mix of old cigarette smoke and mildew with some air freshener. There is obvious water damage and it needs to be addressed. I was somewhat concerned about the air I was breathing in. I would imagine mold could be an issue. I got used to it, but it deters me from renting again.
The air conditioners are extremely dirty. They need to be cleaned and possibly replaced. In order to have the one work better, we needed to clean out some of the dust.
More bath and kitchen towels/washcloths Would be helpful.
The deck was nice to have, but some of the boards were warped causing stumbling and a couple nails that stuck up.
Not sure how common 10am check out is, but it was a stretch for us to get out by that time with three littles. And the folks cleaning came 15 minutes early and sat in their car waiting. They were in and out in an hour or less. So, perhaps, 11 am would be good. Especially since new renters wouldn’t come till 3pm. Just a thought :)
Thanks for the stay! Communication was great and, as said, we enjoyed our time!

Neat and clean condo that we enjoyed very much.
This property is nicely located in Leelanau County. We drove both north and south to enjoy Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Leland, Northport and Suttons Bay. Accomadations were comfortable and met our needs very well.
