Everything was really good from the host Sara who goes extra mile to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable to the actual facilities. The house is very authentic meridian style with a garden, pool and kitchen ( we really enjoyed the hammock).
Guest should be aware that there are water pressure issues which is not the owners fault.
You really get the authentic stay with close proximity to city centre and other local attractions and a very courteous host.

Amazing place. Felt so spoilt to have this wonderful place to ourselves! Great little pool to cool off after a big day out. Aircon in every room!

As always with my reviews I will be as fair and honest as I can be.
This is a well located, spacious property. It is a very short walk to the Santiago market and square where you will find a number of trendy bars and eateries. There is a good "AKI" supermarket. just around the corner. It is 10/15 minutes from the town centre and 20 from the popular and elegant Paseo de montejo. The hosts are very good indeed and when we had an issue (with the water pressure) they resolved it straight away. There are 3 large bedrooms.:(one a master with en-suite bathroom and two large bedrooms with a shared bathroom). The showers are a good size but the water pressure is weak. Do not blame the owners for this. It is a problem in the area generally. It could be resolved by the installation of an independent pump but it is not too bad really.
All bedrooms have A/C. The mattresses were good but the bedding and pillows could have been better quality (a cheap fix that would make a world of difference). Good cotton sheets would be a plus.
There is a large sitting room as you enter the property furnished with settees; the central room is a well furnished dining room but the "heart" of the house is the kitchen (for which see below in "things I did not like). This room could be great but isn't (yet). There is a large island with bar stools seats and the TV is situated here Large glass doors lead onto a lovely, private garden with pool, a shaded seating area and a further bathroom. a very pleasant space in which to sit. This is a GOOD property and with just a couple of minor changes could be really brilliant. None of the living rooms have A/C but they do have ceiling fans to create a breeze. The Wi/Fi is excellent. Notwithstanding the moans and groans below I would recommend this as a place to stay
The original wall (shown in the photographs) in the dining room is a lovely feature but gives off a lot of dust. this could be easily fixed by coating in with transparent sealant. Only two towels were provided for a 10 day stay. Not enough when there is no washing machine. As it is not a good idea to drink the tap water (or wash vegetables in it) the hosts provide bottled water, but not enough of it. This is (on the face of it) a property for 8 so more water could be provided.
My main complaint is this (and it applies not just to this property but many):- why, if you provide a kitchen. do you assume people are not going to use it? I love to cook and to try local foods. In this house the pots and pans were not good (badly scratched non-stick surfaces/ handles missing). There was only one chopping knife and a very small chopping board. The cutlery was really flimsy and the cutlery holder was full of water ( in the drawer with the cutlery in it) when we arrived.. In truth, the kitchen area was a bit tatty and tired looking and it could be such a cheap fix. The cupboard doors could be painted; a decent set of pots and pans provided; a good knife set and decent cutlery are all inexpensive but would make the whole cooking/dining experience a better one. There needs to be a proper roasting tin as well. Just these small improvements would make the magic house a truly great place to stay

The house is phenomenal. We felt like in a mansion in Toscany. A quiet oasis in the middle of the city to relax from the heat. Supermaket and restaurants around the corner. 10 mins by foot to the main square. The hostess Sara was super helpful. We can absolutely recommend it!!!

Everything, the house is very near to Merida downtown, and there are a lot of options where to go at walking distance. There is an ongoing communication with the hostess and they accommodate to your schedules. The kitchen is fully equipped, the coffee and tea basket was amazing. The rooms are huge and very fresh, whic helps beat Merida's heat. Lastly the backyard and pool were definitively a great spot to come back after walking around the city. Great place! Looking forward to booking it again for a future getaway.
The house was a bit tricky to find, yet the hostess sent useful information before arrival which gives you hints to reach. Including the house number on the getting here instructions would be great.

The house is a 12 minute walk from downtown and a two minute walk from the Mercado Santiago, so your morning tortillas are just steps away. The house itself is very comfortable: the bedrooms are large, clean and have a modern, sophisticated design. The interior space is well-organized. The backyard features a large patio, and a small but refreshing swimming pool. In the mornings, the bird song is a welcome start to the day. The hosts were very responsive to our questions.
The street is busy with traffic and noise in the mornings and that could affect someone's sleep in the front room. None of that was noticeable in the two back bedrooms.

I meet owner at exact time as we agreed. She was very friendly and it was so easy to take appartment. It is only 10 minutes walk to main plaza. House was lovely, my son loved the pool. You have OXXO very near and local market also. Thank you owner for all.
