Excellent. Very clean, extremely well renovated. Quiet and relaxing. Lovely home made cake when we arrive. The homemade jam was out of this world. Very nice, long lasting flowers. Like a home from home experience.

Lovely Property and Host
It's a lovely, very comfortable property and Nicola was a very special host. She made us very welcome and was particularly helpful.
Wetton is a great place for walking and visiting Peak district sights.

Absolutely beautifully appointed cottage, the owner had made it a home from home even down to the very tasteful Christmas decorations.
Everything you need is in this cottage so it makes it a completely stressful visit. The views over the fantastically tended gardens are a delight to wake up too and it's so quiet a totally relaxing spot, I can't wait to book again for the summer months to get the use of the private patio and bbq sipping a beer or a glass of vino in a totally tranquil setting.

Situated in the lovely village of Wetton between the Dove and Manifold Valleys, the Little Vicarage is excellent self catering accommodation for two couples or a family. The self contained home was added to the Victorian 'Old Vicarage' (excellent B&B there) and took bookings from 2009. It has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay plus a patio with garden table and chairs for barbecues. A well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, large fridge freezer: buy and cook excellent sausages from Bagshaws in Butterton. Pub next door should you not wish to try your culinary skills. Wetton is a peaceful village: 100 residents in the winter, up to 1000 in the summer. At home TV, CD player etc. to keep you entertained. Lovely walks around and near the village should you not wish to use your car: Alstonefield, Wetton Mill, Milldale for example. Stone walls and sheep in fields, hay making. Wonderful. Lovely walks within driving distance: Hartington, the Roaches, Lathkill Dale to name three. Fabulous base for sightseeing too. An almost endless list of country houses (NT and other), industrial and railway heritage as well as the lovely market town of Ashbourne for local gingerbread, and Bakewell for tarts. Adrenaline seekers prefer Alton Towers nearby, but that is not for us. We love Wetton and have stayed at the Old Vicarage many times. We enjoyed our time at the Little Vicarage equally as much. There are some people around the village who think we are local. Love it. Highly recommended.

Excellent cottage and location
We had a very enjoyable week at The Old Vicarage Cottage. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. The local pubs provided good quality evening meals at reasonable prices, and we ate out every night.
Thoroughly recommended.

I have stayed at The Old Vicarage cottage before - so I knew that I was returning to an excellent standard of accommodation. Nicky is a very warm and welcoming person - with tea and homemade cake, scones or biscuits. There isn't anything that she won't sort/source for you!
As for the cottage, it's attached to the end of Nicky's Old Vicarage B&B.
It has 2 bedrooms and a shower/WC room upstairs, whilst the downstairs is all one long space.
As you enter the front door, you are into the wonderful kitchen, which has everything you will need, down to the tinfoil, cling film and tea towel! Then, there is the dining area, with a beautiful wooden square table, suitable for 4 people. This is followed by a rather quaint lounge area, with 2 two-seater low sofas, a coffee table and a TV/DVD. The rear door leaves from this lounge, via two steps, and opens onto a small and private patio area, which overlooks the grounds of the Old Vicarage.
The thing to note about this cottage - and the B&B rooms - is quite simply the exquisite style and standard of the fittings. The cottage is dressed in a manner that befits luxury and yet still conveys the utmost comfort - perfect after a day out walking. As I use the cottage as a base, whilst on my painting course, it affords me a divine replacement for my home.....and that is the utmost compliment anyone could give to a holiday cottage.
My advice to all who read this review is quite simple - come to Nicky's Cottage/B&B and see for yourself!

My husband and I loved this cottage. It had everything you could want; it was cosy and it was beautifully decorated and looked after. The quality was high throughout, and the kitchen had everything you might need for self-catering. There were lovely touches that made the place feel like home, and I would strongly recommend this place for a quiet retreat in the Peak District. You can take walks right from your door, and there is a pub at the end of the drive. A great place to hideaway or from which to explore the Peak District.

Everything we needed and so much more. A perfect cottage to come 'home' to after wonderful days exploring the fabulous Peak District and no need to go far with beautiful walks on the doorstep and a great pub moments away. In fact no need to go anywhere at all! Relax in the lovely garden, play with Maisie the dog or BBQ your dinner on the private patio.. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well appointed with spacious bedrooms, comfy beds, plenty of storage and a great shower. Nicky and Chris made us feel so welcome and Nicky's fresh flowers, home made cake and jam with freshly baked bread were delightful!

What a find!
We had a lovely welcome on arrival and the accommodation was fantastic! We enjoyed walking and especially biking on the Tissington trail. The pubs locally were great and the information pack on the area was comprehensive and that helped us choose some great days out. Nothing was too much trouble and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Perfect Cottage
We have stayed twice, most recently this year. The cottage is great, very tidy and clean and with a great kitchen. Nicky is a very good host and Maisie the collie is always happy to play in the large garden with anyone at a loose end.
Our children love the area because there is so much to do (horse riding, walking, Buxton, Alton Towers, cycling and much more). Also the pub in the village is very handy and reasonable for meals and the children's meals were very good.
Add to this the Peak District setting and you have the perfect holiday as far as we are concerned (which is why we went back).

Little Vicarage Stay
It is rare to find a self catering holiday cottage combining comfort, cleanliness, high standards and perfect location but we certainly had it all when we stayed at the Little Vicarage in Wetton. Furnishings and fittings are that of a 5* hotel and everything is on hand to make your stay perfect. Nicky provides fresh home made bread and a little something special if you are celebrating during your stay and fresh flowers to make your welcome complete. Highly recommended for a romantic stay or a base for your walking week.

The Little Vicarage, Wetton
I visited this great cottage for yet another stay but on this occasion took a member of my family to share in the delights of The Little Vicarage. It's one of those places where you open the front door, kick off your shoes and you're home! Yes, it's that good. Perfect location, large comfortable beds, clean and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Nicky provides freshly baked bread and flowers to make the stay even more homely. Wetton Hill, Manifold and Tissington Trails, Ilam, Ashbourne and many many more wonderful places to explore. We're coming back next year Nicky. Thanks for everything.

Romantic Cottage
The Cottage has very high quality fittings including oak flooring and staircase that gives a real feel of luxury and was clean and well maintained. The owner Nicky provides a warm welcome and has thought of pretty much everything that you need. The location is in a lovely village and the friendly local pub is on the door step. Nicky provides detailed instructions for her favourite walks starting from the cottage that show the best of the Peak District - without having to start the car engine! We took our bikes which we were able to use directly from the cottage as well as take out in the car to explore the old railway lines. Parking was right by the front door. Would certainly recommend, a little more expensive than some but the luxury and location ensures that value for money is good. We had a lovely holiday.

Fantastic retreat
Stayed at the cottage last summer and to be honest we couldn't wait to return. It was like visiting an old friend. Our host made us so welcome, leaving freshly baked bread and home made jams on our arrival. The cottage is cosy and the beds are so comfortable. Just what you need after a day's walking. The weather was superb and we spent days walking, orally straight from the door. Nicky, our host supplying printed maps and suggestions for lunches. It's the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in and we look for reasons to spend time there now as it's such a great place to relax.

Gorgeous place
We stayed at the Old Vicarage in June for a four night break away and what a perfect stay we had. Blessed with stunning weather, we were able to sit out on the rear terrace each evening and enjoy the utterly peaceful surroundings. The owner, Nicky, has created a beautiful holiday home in this delightful little village and we wanted for nothing. Comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom and although the house is fairly compact, it has been so well thought out that we never felt short of space. The house itself is situated in lovely gardens among tall, well established trees that supposedly encourage insects that supposedly encourage bats. Nicky assured us that the Bat Society have stayed here to study the local bat population but sadly, the bats must have detected our interest and stayed away!
Nicky happily supplied homemade jam made with fruit from her well cared for fruit and vegetable garden which was a treat. The house is quite literally a (good) stones throw from the village pub, which is quite quirky but very friendly with good ales and decently cooked food.
There are one or two excellent places to eat within twenty minutes drive as well as some great cycling trails along disused railway lines.
This is one of the nicest holiday homes that we have stayed in and are seriously going to consider a second visit in 2015.

Couldn't ask for a quieter or nicer setting, the cottage is perfectly presented it has its own small patio area complete with table, chairs and bbq, ideal to sit and relax over looking the over an acre of beautiful garden after a good days walking or sight seeing.
0n arrival there was home made bread and jams to greet us and the cottage was like home from home, the bathroom and bedrooms are very tastefully designed with a contempery but traditional feel to compliment The Old Vicarage B&B adjacent.
Would recommend this property to anyone.
