Not bad but ...

The service and the location.

No fireplace, you can see the pictures that everything it's ready to use but when you arrive everything was removed and you can't use it, but you can't find any info about that. One of the heaters of the room didnt work, so they put a small portable heater that... Wasn't enough (we had to ask for another one) and it made power lost twice, and you don't have access to the power fuses, so we had to wait more than an hour to get power back. (It's not the reception boy's fault, he tried his best...)

Location, everything was at 5-10 minutes walk, lodge’s car parking, decent bedroom size.

Rooms were kind of smelly and there should be something for mosquito repellent.

We like Crandel

New room Unit 3 In the past three years we got room # 16 for Same weekend of Victoria day Kitchenette is awesome.

The locker of the door was not repaired. To pull with strength is not acceptable at the cost of night. The room is missing hooker for coat. my wife called on Friday about BBQ availability. For last three year it was available at the week-end of Victoria. The help desk said it was not setup yet. On Saturday they did setup the propane BBQ. It was unfortunate the setup was not done earlier. . The Window slide is broken. Please get it repaired. Do not wait three seasons as usual.

Why no TV? Room very warm,breakfast service way to slow( 45 min) for only 4 people in restaurant .Please note our server was very nice and food was very good.A mirror not in bathroom would be a plus

Extremely beautiful, quiet town. Wonderful room and hotel. Dissapointed with the fireplace situation

Beautiful room, quiet location, quaint scenery and a lovely spot for a retreat with your loved one. The hotel is older, but room has been modernized, while retaining a classic atmosphere.

When choosing to stay at this hotel, one of the primary reasons for selecting it was to have both a in-suite jacuzzi and a wood fireplace. Well imagine my surprise and severe disappointment when we drove 3+ hours from Calgary only to find out that the fire tools and log stand have been removed from the fire place and replaced with a cheap fake plug in log that produces fire noises akin to a 1980's kids toy. When inquiring with the staff, they told me a fire... Was... A fire hazard.... Go figure. VERY dissapointed that not only was this the response and reality of the room we purchased, but when you look up the hotel room information AND pictures, you will see a fully functional fireplace equipped with tools beside it. Do NOT be decieved like I was! If this is a dealbreaker for you, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Vintage accommodation in a great location, with generous, communal outdoor space.

Crandall mountain Lodge is a period piece. We like the fact that since Covid, they have removed all the knickknacks from the rooms, so they now feel less cluttered and cleaner. We really appreciate the large communal outdoor furnished deck which allows us to gather with the friends we travelled with to Waterton to share a drink and a bite to eat.

Updating the older finishes in the units that have not been renovated yet would be a positive thing. However, the units are functional and accommodating as they are.

Amongst the trees, near mountains, falls, lake & community.

Location - right amongst tall pines, and within easy walking distance to restaurants, nature center, Cameron Falls. Free parking near lodge. Front patio to relax in the shade or have a cookout, small kitchen with cooking/serving dishes. Nice shower good even water pressure, nice towels.

It is old, so the floor was uneven in one spot. Suggestion: Get a new over shower pipe soap rack. That is an easy, inexpensive, quick fix.

Great location, walkable to amenities in the town and trailheads. The room was able to accommodate my family.

Great, clean suite and friendly, helpful staff.

The beds were great and the suite was very spacious. even though the location was right next to the road, the rooms were quiet. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Having the room stocked with coffee would be great! The hotel staff did give us some extra coffee packets. The room had a functioning coffee maker and sugar, but no coffee or creamer.

It was comfortable.

Good location, and comfortable room.

Noisy people above us the second night. Had to ask about the smoke alarm hanging from the ceiling. They did address it right away.

Professional and friendly staff

I booked this property a few weeks prior and the staff contacted me to let me know they were closing for the season on the dates I had booked and transferred my reservation to the Waterton Lakes Lodge painlessly, honoring the original price. Very professional and seamless. Waterton Lakes Lodge was great.

Know Before You Go...

Positives of staying here: the location is convenient, the staff are super nice, the towels are very white and fluffy. The bed linens were clean. The room didn't smell bad. Shower pressure was great. The fireplace worked and kept the room warm, and the shampoo & conditioner had a great peppermint-y scent!

Know that the décor is older (think: 1970's). Rooms definitely need an overhaul. Chairs @ the table were so stained that I washed them & covered with a towel before we could sit on them.The gas line should be inside the walls rather than run along the inside of the room (does this meet Code?). Huge spider crack on interior of sink (time to buy a new one?). Black mildew along bottom of shower (Ew.). Lamp shades could use some hot water + soap (Also Ew.). Blinds are dirty, stained, and bent out of shape, making privacy an issue. Extra blanket & pillow both had hair all over them (More Ew.). Fireplace had a wooden wedge underneath to balance it (Just weird.). All things that should be repaired/cleaned to make for a more pleasant experience.
