Wonderful vacation cottage on the water in PEI's beautiful and tranquil Point Prim.
10.0
We had an amazing stay from July 7-14th. The cottage was beautiful, very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed.
The cottage was our home base for the week as we day tripped to explore North Rustico, Summerside, Charlottetown and drove the coast to Basin Head. The island was beautiful but our favourite part was walking and exploring the beach in front of the cottage during low tide. The kids (3 and 5yrs old) spent hours walking, playing and collecting treasures. We enjoyed a few trips to the Point Prim Chowder House and BarVela Pizzeria which were minutes away and delicious. We would recommend this place to anyone and especially to those with kids. We had a great family vacation and would return in a heartbeat!

The property was just as advertised. Lovely house and an amazing view of the ocean. The adjacent beach was amazing. We walked it at least 2 times a day and despite a neighbor or two, had it all to ourselves. Great place to collect sea glass. It was easy to get to everything we wanted to do around PEI.

We had an amazing visit. The house was just as described. The views from the back porch were absolutely beautiful. The artistic touch to the design of the house just made it more perfect. We enjoyed exploring Point Prim and all it has to offer. The kitchen was well equipped and we made dinner several times instead of going out. The Stewart's were very responsive with any questions that we had and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely on our list of places to return to.

We spent a week relaxing in this beautiful cottage during the final week of June. The rural location was exactly what we were looking for and provided endless opportunities to connect with nature. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the owners responded to correspondence immediately. We highly recommend this location to anyone with a desire to unwind and enjoy the majestic scenery the area provides.

Wonderful place to use as a base to tour the island. Not crowded with tourists. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Outstanding views. Would stay here again. Cheers

The house was great. It was cold while we were there and the house was nice and cozy.
We had everything we needed in the kitchen.
It’s located in a quiet rural area and there is a small convenience store close by that had all we needed to pick up for our stay.
We enjoyed the beach walks. We saw seals, starfish, crabs, & even a couple of foxes on the property.
Check in was a breeze. We would love to stay there in the summer sometime. It would be the perfect summer beach house.
The bed was firmer than we are used to but we slept great and it’s not uncomfortable.
We enjoyed being able to see the beach sitting in bed in the morning! Absolutely loved the place.

We had an amazing visit to PEI. The cottage was spotless and comfortable. We loved the views and took many pictures from the deck and by the shore. For us the location was perfect. We loved the peacefulness of the area. Everything was exactly as advertised, and we are already looking to plan our next visit! Thank you for a beautiful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this location. The grounds and views are incredible! We enjoyed walks on the beach and were situated so that we could drive to places all over the island. The house was very clean and had plenty of amenities like blankets, towels, washer and dryer, Keurig and an electric kettle! We would definitely stay here again!!

This property was spectacular! It was exactly as advertised and was stocked with everything needed for our vacation. We appreciated the extra touches, such as table clothes, magazines, books, beach chairs, water shoes and an abundance of towels. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and pillows were great. We loved having the golf cart to go back and forth to the amazing beach. The chalet was immaculate and we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Thank-you Ayelet and Larry for your prompt replies to our questions. We highly recommend this property.

This is a beautiful place with an incredible view. It is by far the cleanest place we have ever stayed. The host were fabulous at communicating with us. We enjoyed the chowder house and lighthouse down the road as well as the bottle village and artist shop next door. The beach was great for treasure hunting at low tide. We would definitely recommend this lovely house.

A very well cared for property. The home is supplied with all the necessities and was very clean, neat and orderly. It has the most wonderful view which we enjoyed with our morning coffee every day. We used the supplied beach chairs and umbrellas at the gorgeous PEI beaches. So very happy with our choice to stay here.

If anything the pictures do not do this property justice. It is simply one of the best places we have ever stayed at: quiet, beautiful, all the amenities one would desire, It is comfortable, and close enough to be in a city in 45 minutes. It is also close to the Confederation bike trail which we used in rides of 25 and 20 miles. There are a few places to eat on the point. The pizza place was great. About the only thing we could not figure out was the TV which was quirky to turn on. We hated to leave.

My family had a great time at this lovely cottage. The view was beautiful and so nice to have access to the beach. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Thank you for opening your vacation home to us. Everything was perfect. The house had everything we could imagine and then some. It was super clean and easy to find. Check in process was easy too.
The view of the beach was beautiful. We walked down there every night. So peaceful.
All in all our PEI vacation was a success. The island had so much to offer and explore. Thanks again!!

Lovely setting, great cottage/home
The property was just as advertised. House/cottage included all the necessities and more to make our stay enjoyable. Well maintained and very clean. Owners responded right away and were very helpful with any questions that we had. Views from the house were beautiful, whether it was looking out at water and the beach at low tide, the sunsets or seeing the bald eagles fly by. Peaceful setting close to Point Prim Chowder House where you can depend on getting a delicious meal. Would recommend this location to family and friends if they are looking for a place to stay on the Island.

Beautiful Shore beautiful Property
The property is as nice as the pictures show, and the loft is roomier than we expected - the walk in closet made an excellent bedroom, with a window, for the 1 year old.
Everything needed is nearby, groceries, wine and beer, and a great restaurant just 15 minute walk down the road. The shore was the best, miles of nearly empty sand and warm shallow water.

Beautiful cottage!
We had a great stay at this cottage - despite the horrendous cold wet and windy weather most of our stay.
The cottage was well stocked with kitchen tools, lots of towels, and use of the laundry facilities made it easy to bring home clean clothes at the end of our stay!
The use of the golf cart was great - as it is a bit of a walk to the beach to explore the ocean when the tide is in or out. Fantastic gazebo for relaxing in.
We will be back! Thank you!!

Exactly what we were looking for.
We have stayed on the island many times ( 2 adults, teen son) and this time we were looking for something more remote with a semi private beach for beach combing etc.- the chalet was a perfect fit.
The house was equipped with everything we needed for a weeks vaca and the hosts were super easy to reach, the property was lovely and very quiet. Use of the golf cart to go to the beach was a nice addition.
It was a really warm week, and I was concerned with having no ac, but all rooms had ceiling fans and the breeze through all the windows was wonderful!
The chalet has 2 rooms, which accommodated my husband and I, and then our son, noting these were on separate floors so may not be a good fit for families with a young child.
The beach was fun, you can walk out very far when the tide it out and the combing for shells and sea glass is always our favorite activity. Don't forget bug spray, lots of mosquitoes near grassy areas :)
Larger towns were about 25-30 mins away, which was perfectly fine for us. We did the eastern drive one day for a change of scenery.
I rated this 5 stars because this really was a great trip and covered everything we were looking for. My only recommendation would be to have the mattress on the main floor changed out. Normally for cottages, I wouldn't expect anything "elite" but it was pretty springy and movement did cause disrupted sleep.
Thank you again for sharing your home, we had a lovely time!

Beautiful chalet
We had a wonderful long weekend at Larry’s chalet. The house itself and the grounds are beautiful and we were treated to gorgeous sunsets every night. The chalet is well appointed and had everything we needed. Communication was very friendly and responsive. Thank you!

In spite of Dorian!
A lovely cottage in a great location. The front porch needs an update and would appreciate mattress change in lower bedroom as the present one goes "boing boing" when I get up in the night and wakes Penny up due to springs! The structure stood up well in the hurricane. We will come again and recommend to friends.

Great location, beautiful home
My family and I had a great time here. The house itself is clean and comfortable. The access to the beach and water was wonderful. The street the house is on is lovely with a couple of interesting shops, the lighthouse and the Chowder House (definitely go at sunset!). We would definitely stay here again!

Peace and Quiet
Lovely location on Point Prim. Close to historic light house and fantastic restaurant. Beautiful view of tides coming in and out on a beach with with crabs, sea stars....even saw a bald eagle fly by one day! The house is clean, has everything you need, and is close to Cooper's which has gas and any food you may need without having to go into Charlottetown. Great place to get away from it all and experience PEI, especially if you want to be away from the more touristy Cavendish (which is still totally worth a day trip since it's only 1hr away). Was great to meet and speak with Larry who was very helpful in getting the golf cart up and running when we had an issue with it.....golf cart is a huge bonus to ferry over to the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Pearl by the Sea
If you really want to get away from the crowds this is the place to stay. It’s very comfortable for a family of four or two couples. The kitchen is very well-equipped including lobster cracking tools. There’s a brand new gas grill and a separate screened in porch to get away from the bugs in the summer. It has a gorgeous view of Hillsborough Bay, use of a golf cart to get to the beach, nice neighbors, walk to Pt. Prim lighthouse. Right down the street you can order fresh lobster (Rebecca offers to cook it for you) and bring home lobster rolls. Cooper’s Red and White gas & grocery had everything we needed to start our stay.
There’s a wonderful art gallery right next-door (Kro Gallery), the beach offers lots of shell hunting, driftwood gathering, and solitude.
We would definitely visit here again

Enjoyed our stay! Very nice property and ocean view. We especially enjoyed seeing the Seals so close to shore. Highly recommend this property.

Great Location for Touring
Four friends shared the cottage for 5 nights at the end of June '18. It was spacious and had everything we needed though I didn't notice that there is no dishwasher (not a hardship). We stocked up on groceries at the Sobey's and bought cooked lobsters in North Rustico. It was a good location for touring the east side of PEI with lots to do. A highlight was the lovely Kro Gallery owned by Kathy next door. Fireworks Dinner (chef Michael Smith) at Bay Fortune and Point Prim Chowder House were culinary highlights. Especially charming was the fox family playing on our lawn.

Pictures truly don't do this property justice. The view was incredible. The house was very clean and beautiful. I cant wait to go back. Ayelet was so helpful and polite. It was a great overall experienc. I would definitely recommend this property.

A peaceful retreat
Nice chalet, clean, well equipped. Large property with trail leading to beautiful beach. On the low tide can walk for miles. A nice, quiet area of PEI with some nice shops and a great seafood restaurant close by. We would certainly repeat.

Wonderful home on PEI!!
This was our family's first trip to PEI and we could not have picked a more lovely home. Very comfortable and the golf cart was a major bonus. The mosquitoes were quite abundant so bring bug spray and enjoy the gazebo. Use the golf cart when going to the beach to avoid them. This is a nice quiet location to come home to after a day of sightseeing and enjoying the island. The sunsets are absolutely spectacular every night! You won't be disappointed!

Beautiful location and lovely cottage
Easily one of the nicest rentals we have stayed in, this cottage was absolutely lovely, comfortable and well equipped. It is well maintained, and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of linens and kitchen supplies. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, one upstairs with its own bathroom, and another downstairs with a full bathroom across the hall. Perfect set-up for two couples. The bedrooms are a good size and there is ample storage space. Add comfortable sofas in the living room, one a pull out bed, and you have everything you need including a washer and dryer. Plenty of seating outside as well including a gazebo. The location cannot be beat; simply wonderful and relaxing. The cottage is on the beach with a short walk, or golf cart ride, down to the shore. When the tide is out you can walk for miles on the red sands, and its a child's delight to play in. When the tide is in there is still a sandy area that you and sit and watch the scenery. All the times we were on the beach we saw only one other person. We walked the beach down to the end of the point to the Chowder House which has wonderful food, just make a reservation if you want to stay for dinner. It is about 2 km up the road. There is also a nice art/craft gallery next door, and a good 9 hole golf course 10 minutes away. If you take the ferry, it is a quick 20-25 minutes drive from Wood Islands, so convenient. The only drawback was our time there was too short. We will be returning in the future. Loved it!

Wonderful property and wonderful time!
The cottage absolutely exceeded our expectations. A bright, spacious, and comfortable retreat with every amenity that we could need. The views from the dining room, living room and the upstairs are spectacular - a sweeping vista of the ocean. The yard is huge, private and perfect for the kids to run around. We loved the screened in gazebo for catching the ocean breezes and watching some amazing sunsets in the evenings. The winding path through wildflowers down to the Ocean was lovely and we very much enjoyed having the golf cart to get our beach things up and down the path. The beach itself was just lovely - the softest sand, framed by the red sandstone cliffs that PEI is so famous for, and the ocean. At low tide you can walk forever, picking up seashells and checking out the ocean life in rocky tidal pools nearby. We barely saw another soul - almost every day we had this huge expanse of beach all to ourselves! Point Prim was a great spot as well - only about half an hour from Charlottetown, a quiet, lovely spot with the lighthouse at the point to visit. All in all this was one of the best, most relaxing holidays we've had. The kids adored it too. Thank you Larry and Ayelet for letting us stay!

Great spot
The chalet was beautiful. You could see the ocean from the master bedroom-it was wonderful to wake up to such a lovely view. Everything was very modern and lovely inside. It's only half an hour to Charlottetown and very close to the ferry as well. We appreciated all the owner's suggestions of things to do-and did most of them! The Chowder House was amazing, but make sure you have a reservation. The beach was awesome at low tide, and the golf cart was such a great idea for getting all our beach gear down there. I just wish the weather had been more cooporative. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again.

Great cottage on the beach!
Myself, my husband, our baby and my in-laws stayed at this cottage the second week of June 2014.
The cottage was perfect. It was about 30-35 minutes from Charlottetown and was a good base of operations for touring around the province. The property was very well maintained and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom upstairs had a spectacular view out over the water. The kitchen had all the basics that we needed to cook an inordinate amount of seafood that week. The listing description was very accurate and we had no surprises.
Although the weather was chilly, it didn't stop us from enjoying the beach which was directly accessible from the property. The owners provid a golf cart to drive down to the beach if you need it. If you don't, the 5 minute walk down the back lawn is lovely. We were able to clam dig right on the beach and we could walk for kms when the tide was out. We also found a few super helpful things in the cottage such as a couple of coolers which we could use to store the lobsters (and ice) from the wharf to home. The decks were great and the new gazebo was lovely. Since the bugs were non existent we didn't have the opportunity to use it.
The cottage is 5 minutes away from a local chowder house and a lighthouse. The local gas station & grocer (Cooper's) is less than 10 minutes away. The ferry to NS is a 20 min drive away. There are a few wharfs in the area where we were able to buy fresh lobster. We ate lobster at least once every day.
We ran into one issue with the internet connection fluctuating and when we contacted the owners they got right on top of it and helped us to get everything up and running again. We found Larry & Ayelet super friendly and genuinely interested in having us enjoy our stay as much as possible.
We also appreciated the nightly wildlife entertainment. Without fail, every night, we were treated to a grey fox prancing around the yard hunting for dinner. Pretty successful little fox too. We saw a skunk on another evening (the fox thought better of that one) and a few bunnies and one jack rabbit. Lots of cormorants too.
One thing to note for all PEI tourists...very little is open on the Island until June 15. We drove to a lot of places and were met with a lot of locked doors. Hindsight being 20/20 we would have booked for July or August.
All in all, a great place to stay and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a private cottage on it's own beach away from it all.

Relaxing, beautiful home away from home
This house was beyond our expectation. It was beautifully situated on Point Prim. The sunsets alone were unbelievable. We ate in most nights and found the kitchen well-appointed. The interior of the house was comfortable for dining, lounging, reading and sleeping. We loved having two bathrooms as well as a laundry room. The golf cart was a nice feature for toting things to the beach. Yet, nothing can compare to the location of this house. The setting is unbelievably beautiful! Additionally, we cannot say enough about the nearby, locally owned store, Cooper's Red and White. They were well-stocked, moderately priced with friendly, personal service. This property and its setting is the real deal!
