The chef is excellent; you should eat here! The staff are great, as are the facilities and the location (next to St Andrew's churchyard).
The internal staircase is very steep. Plan on using the rear fire stair if you have heavy bags; it will be much easier.

It was a beautiful old pub, great character still, lovely room and a great breakfast.

Location
The rooms were dark and looked very nice but were not practical. Very dark in the room. Shower effectively in a cupboard. Not customer friendly.

Beautiful old building, lovely location
Bed was extremely firm. Carpet on landing disgusting. Staff were terse to the point of rudeness and didn’t wait until you had finished eating to snatch away the plates!

Location
Could do with some practice making porridge. Could have laid bricks with it.

A little tired and needing some new plastering and blinds.

nothing in general. just had a problem with the bedroom door lock that was hanging off

Lovely room though compact, friendly staff and excellent breakfast

Location.
The filthy room. Rug covered in bits with a dead bottle fly on it. Unhoovered carpet, thick dust and filth behind the bedside cabinets and bed, chocolate wrapper by the bed. Loose toilet seat, broken loo brush, broken loo roll holder, broken shelf above the sink, socket not working in bedroom.. Cold breakfast. Cold mash with evening meal, which the waitress said she would replace but by the time she came back with the mash we had finished eating. Who wants mash on it's own? Not a great experience.

On arriving in England you couldn’t get a more original experience. In a small village area with a church next door ( they even practiced ringing the bells and walks along the river close by. The rooms are compact as would be expected of a property of this age but everything has a place. Extremely comfortable. Food excellent quality and staff were so helpful.

parking can be a bit of a problem

Lots of character and log fire constantly blazing and no TV in the bar🥳food was great and staff couldn’t do enough.
No shops nearby but the pub supplied all I need to be fair, the room was clean and nice but a bit small that is as negative as I can get, I would recommend and use again.

Everything was just perfect! One of the nicest places I have ever stayed in.
Breakfast finishes a little early for me but don’t let this put you off. It was excellent and well worth getting out of bed for.

chosen as near to work.
noisy. also chosen as advertised parking. there is. but on the 2 times went I had to wait for spaces. and the road was full. the food isn’t great. first time. was terrible. not hot. vegetables had obviously been standing a long time. spoke with lovely Katie. I said if I hadn’t already booked another visit I would not be returning. offered me a free meal the next time. went on 29/12/22 got the free meal. it was just ok. small piece of fillet steak and hardly any chips (which were yummy). ordered more chips. one lady was lovely. but. not a smile from anyone else. sorry 🤷🏼♀️
