- Private onsen
- Amazing hospitality
- Great breakfast if you like Japanese-style breakfast
- Shuttle from/to the station is very convenient
- I wish there was a western option for breakfast
- Bed wasn't very comfortable, it was too firm.
- A bit on the expensive side

The spacious and nicely furnished room.
Only two shuttle service to train stations for check in and check out.
The outdoor ‘onsen’ in the room is quite pathetic.
Staffs while efficient are a tad too ‘cold’. Quite unexpected from the friendly and warm staffs impression one have for Japanese hospitality industry.

The whole onsen experience was amazing. From the reception to being introduced to the room. We had yukata's (traditional home garments). Our private onsen was great. The room was beautiful, The futon bed super comfy.
The food was OMG.... literally Michelin star (and I've bee at Michelin star restaurants).
Staff was extremely helpful and assisted us booking travel to any place around. The location was great to just take a stroll and discover the Kawaguchi lake.
Nothing, everything was great.

In room massage was wonderful and they were able to make the appointment with minimal prior notice. Private onsen was delightful.

We showed up a bit early and the staff
still accommodated us. Thank you so much for that! The ryokan must have been recently renovated as it is very modern yet still keeps the traditional feel. I felt like I was in a luxury spa. Exceptionally clean as well. The private onsen was our favourite part and was 1000% worth the extra price.

Zimmer mit Privat Onsen. Luxuriöse Ausstattung der Infrastruktur. Zuverlässiger online Kontakt vor dem Aufenthalt. Sehr aufwendiges und attraktives Kaiseki Menü.
Japanisches Essen leider nicht unser Geschmack. Japanisches Frühstück für uns gewöhnungsbedürftig. Leider keine Alternative dazu. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis sehr hoch.

Gorgeous grounds and room, dinner was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Was our favorite place we stayed on our Japan trip. This will be my number one recommendation in the future. Everyone visiting Japan should come here!

Excellent, maybe a bit too much
Good enough highly satisfactory

Everything - the room, the service, the food, the location.
Can’t see Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko inside the premises. Need to go out to see the scenery.

Easily the most wonderful place we have stayed in Japan. The staff were the best and the rooms were just beautiful. The Japanese breakfast each morning was delicious. I highly recommend!

The resort was truly ideal to relax and unwind. The staff were all very polite and attentive. They do speak very basic English and could get by.
The room was spacious, and private onsen is truly delightful to soak and relax.
The room is so clean that you can't find any mold. This is probably the only place where I could not spot any mold in hotel bathroom.
This place provided me with a very relaxing stay. The breakfast and dinner is so sumptuous that it is fitting for a King. Worth dining in for the experience especially when u could dress in Japanese costume.
They charge you if you want to extend check out.

Everything about the property was amazing! The room with the private onsen was amazing after traveling from Tokyo as well as the delicious dinner and breakfast the next morning. Felt well taken cared while we were here!
Nothing to note!

The suite we got was actually a whole building to ourselves! It was very spacious, clean, and private from everyone else.
The location of the whole property was right at the corner of the main road, so while we did have lots of privacy, there were fairly amount of vehicle/road noise. It did take away a bit from peaceful decor when outside in the onsenji.

Room was very nice
Breakfast included was a very special Bento with plenty of variety
Very friendly staff - offered taxi services to and from the station
Very good English skills from staff
Nitpicking, if I had to complain about anything it would be inability to change heat of onsen without contacting reception. Not a big deal

breakfast is good, but the communication from staff is not pleasant at all. advertise in booking.com would need address their service type. and Customer service would need improve communication skill.

Very good taste in decoration, very simple and relaxing design, great onsen on the terrace(not good with the noise)
I was expecting something else based on the reviews on Booking. Truth is, the place is located near the road, so there is a lot of noise.
English speaking staff will tell you a lot of rulles, rarely will give uou sollutions if gou are outside the rigid hours for pick-up, dinner, breakfast. Everything ends with “if not … we won’t be able to accomodate”. Moreover, they communicate that dinner is at 5 pm or you should be back at the lace by 5pm and than you find out that dinner is at 6pm. Sure, not a big deal if you did’t plan the day according to the rule.
Didn’t like the rigidity in everything. I am on a vacation not a camp.
Little value for money, have stayed and ate less expensive in riokans that are really customer service oriented.

Dinner was expensive but totally amazing and highly recommended.
the in-suite spa was tiny and not pretty.

The breakfast was phenomenal and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are gorgeous and huge by Japanese standards. We wish we would’ve spent more time here.
I didn’t like the check in process as it took a long time.

Looks clean, nice breakfast
Very strict, not flexible, don’t attend customer needs in a timely manner

The ryokan is absolutely beautiful. It's feels like you're sitting in the mountains in a zen, traditional, japanese architecture and garden - but in the middle of the city. The amenities and room was absolutely gorgeous and the private onsen was so lovely. We got the meals package as well and the meal was delicious - but be prepared for a LOT of food. I would love to visit this ryokan again.
The location isn't great. There isn't a lot to do in Fuji-kawaguchiko so if you are looking for a fun city with a lot of sight-seeing, this may not be the location for you. If you are looking to stay in the ryokan as a mini quiet getaway, this would be a lovely ryokan for you.

This place is amazing. The room was stunning, the onsen was soo relaxing, they provided yukatas to wear, the breakfast was in a private room in the banquet hall - everything was just exquisite!! Worth every penny, wish we could have stayed longer. The room was huge, coming from a hotel in Osaka this place was soo spacious. They let us stay in the lobby after check out - they have a coffee machine etc with take away cups and everything. The place has been well thought out and designed, and well maintained. There's security at night too so you feel very safe. They kindly accepted our luggage earlier than check in and placed it in our room for us. They also accommodated to our no pork and alcohol dietary requirements for breakfast. We really didn't want to leave this place..
The strict hours for their transfer service to/from the hotel. Our previous ryokan in kawaguchiko gladly picked us up and dropped us off anytime however Yumedono has strict hours (latest 11am to take you to the train station and will only pick you up from the station between 12-5pm pending availability). However in terms of our stay we can't fault them

Amazing dinner and breakfast, the inroom onsen is a great for someone who enjoys bathing alone and also someone with a lot of tattoos like myself. Very spacious and comfortable rooms.
The security guy during the night was pretty rude to me and my friend.
4.5
The staff and facilities were amazing, the room was incredible!

We booked 3 rooms and they let us dined in a big room all together. The rooms were newly renovated and just so beautiful. I stayed in 5 different accommodations in this trip and this is my favorite. Though the quality is also reflected by the price. But the meals and the rooms are all worth it. Countless power outlets around the room. Super comfy beds and pillows. The room was dark enough to fall asleep.
The food was remarkable too. We brought a 1-year-old and we added a child meal for the toddler for JPY 5500 but skipped the JPY4400 breakfast for her as it was so much food even for an adult!!
The entrance location was off the google map which took us a while to locate it. If the lounge could be opened till 18:00, it would have been perfect.

A peaceful haven after the bustle of Tokyo.

Nothing! Doesn’t worth the price. The staffs were so rude.
The location, in the middle of a speed way.
They sell you this hotel as an onsen but it looked like more a private outdoor bathtub than a onsen. You could also changed the temperature of the water.
Dinner : you have to make a reservation a week before
Breakfast : they give you 2 choices : 8 or 8:30 am and they come to your room on time until you get there.
The checkout is also a joke! Same process, you cannot check out when you want before 11am. You have slots and when someone took the spot, you have to choose another one.
The rudeness of the staff, OMG !!! And I’m French!
