Awesome location. Lovely traditional Japanese meals for dinner & breakfast. 10 out of 10 for the food! Nice onsen in the hotel. Brilliant views of Mt Fuji. Would definitely stay again.

The staff at the restaurant was really nice and friendly. Food was also really good. We had both dinner and breakfast.
The facilities look like they once were great, but they haven't had maintenance in a reaaaally long time. The first thing you see when you come into the room is a lamp with a paper wall. If you turned the lights off, you could see huge water stains. The bathroom was really clogged, so much so that if you used the tub and then drained the water, it would come out of the shower. The sink was also clogged. The shower door was also stained and moldy on the inside. We rented the private onsen (at an additional cost, everything costs extra) so my husband and I could use it together (the onsen included in the hotel price has separate areas for men and women), and that was also in poor conditions. When you got into the onsen, water came out into the shower area through cracks in the seal.
Even though we paid for a room rate that included dinner, any drinks cost extra with a rather high rate.
The Yukatas for men were nice, but the ones for women were rather old and the colors washed out.
Finally, before checking out we asked if they could hold our luggage for an hour so we could go visit the lake in front briefly. They said no and basically tried to get us to leave the premises as quickly as possible.
Other than the food itself and the nice lady at the restaurant, it was an overall bad experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

old-fashioned charm in spacious clean rooms with beautiful views of lake kawaguchi. choice of kimonos provided for us women with a wide obi (in addition to yukata for men) were fabulous. the staff was able to store our bicycles inside which was great. breakfast and dinner was good. lively and friendly atmosphere.
nothing!

Great location on the lake with fantastic views across lake Kawaguchiko from the front and Mt. Fuji from the back. Nice Onsens and a tasty traditional (and large!) Japanese breakfast. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
4.1
Every staff member was exceptional helpful. The onsens were also resort size, but probably not natural. Shuttle service was great feature too.
Lake location and views of Mt. Fuji.
Agree with the other reviews about needing repairs.

wonderful location; tranquil beautiful surroundings
it was fun to dress in kimono and have traditional multi course dinner and breakfast which was very high standard

futon mattresses are incredibly uncomfortable
air con was too severe

We had an unobstructed view of Mt Fuji from our room, which was really wonderful. The room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and great value for money. The staff were extremely polite and formal.
The location was not ideal. It's a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel to the main town centre. We had dinner in town, and it was a bit of a pain to have to trek from town to the Hotel afterwards. They do offer complimentary shuttles to/from the train station, although I think this was in the morning only.
4.1
The location is good. The shuttle service convenient and the staFF mostly helpful. The food was good.
The hotel badly needs a facelift. It's stuck in the 70s. The rooms and furniture are old. The bathroom was unacceptable and we were just given one small towel. The terrace view of the lake was marred by an airconditioning unit and the terrace floor was stained.

The staff were very kind and friendly. They were organised with the free shuttle bus, booking our breakfast and dinner time, cleaning our room, and paid private onsen. Then onsen was so relaxing but wished it was longer than 40mins. Our room was comfortable and had a beautiful view of Mt Fuji.
The free wifi had a very bad connection in our room. We had to go downstairs in the lobby for stronger connection.

staying in this hotel sure is the highlight of my japan trip. the place is super nice and has this traditional ryokan vibes. perfect for families. and the view was amazing. I can see both fuji-san and lake kawaguchiko. the onsen was amazing both indoor and outdoor. i feel relaxed. I actually take a picture at the outdoor onsen when I was the only person in the room just because the view was amazing

Overall, I had a great experience. The Japanese style room enabled me to get a sense of how the Japanese traditional living used to be.... the tatami mats and yakuta slippers, the green tea had in cups for instance...My room was amazing....it had a fantastic view of Fuji san. On the first day of my arrival, it rained so I could not see Fuji san. But the next morning around 6 am, when I awoke and saw Fuji san, tall and majestic, I nearly fell out of my mattress in joy and amazement. It was a spiritual experience if anything. You can also get a gorgeous view of Fuji san and all other mountains and the Kawaguchiko lake from the terrace on the 5th floor. The outdoors bath in my room was perfect to drive all aches and pains away... I did not want to step out of it at all. The private dining experience attached to my room was simply delightful. So many kinds of delicious dishes and served so graciously by the hotel staff. The view from the dining room of the lake is gorgeous and an additional element of the meal.
Most important of all is the kindness and understanding of the gentleman san at the hotel reception. Since I have a perceptible disability in one leg, they very kindly offered to drop and pick me up from the ropeway (Fuji view) and drop me at the Kawaguchiko station knowing it would be too far for me to walk to and back. I can never forget that.
It was perfect.

beautiful views of the lake and Fuji. the onsen has a great view too. the rooms are very traditional, the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious too. the staff is super attentive and friendly
could use some renovation. some of the traditional charm is in the old appearance but they could renovate to make it less worn.

Location
Not clean, hot springs and meals were nice but not that special
