Hostel was a bit chilly and the heater only can be used 1800-6am

Great staff, very clean, great breakfast. It was close enough to the main square. I could do everything walking. Quite place, my room was cleaned everyday.
Wifi was a bit inconsistent, it wouldn't be enough for work
The light in my room sometimes would turn off and the water was cold after a few minutes in the shower

Very friendly staff, clean, and a charming colonial mansion
4.3
Comfortable room, friendly staff, close to main square

A bit quiet when we were there, due to the protests, but the hostel is lovely and well designed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was a great size. The breakfast was also good.
4.3
fine, the breakfast was good, the stuff was very lovely and helpful and the room had everything we needed
when you have problems with not perfect conditions in the bathroom, but for us it wasnt so bad, so it was ok. just the wifi is in the room not the best

Front desk staff was friendly and eager to help. The rooms had historic charm. Quiet street at night but close to everything.
A few things made this stay difficult.
First, there's a lot of noise while trying to sleep. Cleaning staff starts knocking around at around 6 AM (?!), and they talk aloud like it's midday. This is crazy. I asked them to be quiet and the next day found a bag of garbage left in my room (might be coincidence?). Also, any noise in the common areas (courtyards) is easily heard throughout the hostel, so big tour groups wake you up at the crack of dawn. You will never sleep in past 6 AM here.
Second, bathrooms need some serious maintenance. Big paint chips were coming off the ceiling. After a hot shower, precipitation off the ceiling was black with mold.
Finally, the breakfast area needs some updates. It's cold (cook was always in jacket and scarf), dark, and too small to fit even half of the guests at the hotel. Turnover was slow so if it's full you just need to wait in line or go find a cafe.

beautiful historical building. convenience location. Staff is very helpful. Oscar send me messages and offered airport pickup. Friendly driver waiting for us just outside the airport building and 15 minutes later arrived hotel.
ceiling has large amount of water damage and pealing off need to be repaired.

Everything. Staff awesome. We actually didn't stay in mallqui. They upgraded us to Amaru Colonial that is from the same group
Clean
Hot water
Good breakfast
Box lunch if you will leave the hotel early for a tour
We ha dto ask for toilet paper. I don't know if this is cultural in Peru but there is never toilet paper available. You always need to request. Even when the lady comes to clean the room she doesn't put a new toilet paper in the bathroom

Location, price, veru helpful staff, excellent breakfast, poasibility to store luggage free if charge and heater in the room at night (great when it’s a cold night outside). In fact hostel Mallaqui was under the reconstruction and they transferred us to the Amaru Colonial and thos review is half and put Amaru and hf (regarding staff) about Mallaqui

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They helped us wirh all information, made sure that we had everything we needed and called a taxi for us to go to the airport. Very good and filling breakfast every day. The location is ideal, only a few minutes' walk from the central squares of Cusco, yet the street is not very busy. Overall good value for money but next time we will probably look for something else.
The hotel can be very noisy at night as others pass through the hallway and people wake up at 3 am to leave for their tours. The bed made a lot of noise and the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom could use a renovation as the ceiling looks quite terrible. There was hot water in the shower but the temperature faded after some minutes. No hot water in the sink.

helpful staff, not too bad location and hot water
the key is so hard to use, wifi is always disconnect, the room is too dim
4.3
Super service, we appreciated to be put for one night into another very nice hostal as the guest prior to us couldn't check/out due to feeling sick. We thought this is a very nice move and didn't cause us any trouble, just were happy to support.
no complaints

Staff were super friendly especially, Oscar.
Nice warm room
Quiet at night
Secure and safe
You can walk to the plaza in 2/3 mins so all the benefits of Cusco without the noise.
Breakfast was ok. Pretty basic and the same every day other than that we loved our stay.
WiFi can be hit and miss depending on your room. We moved after the first night because of poor signal at the back.

for what you are paying it’s great value for money.
The shower wasn’t always hot.

This place is a gem! Staff is very helpful. Hot shower, good breakfast. Location is good in local neighbourhood but not too far from touristy places
4.3
all was good, clean room, heating hot water and close to the center
the breakfast is very basic, you get eggs and either fruit salad or cereals. if you don’t like eggs you can’t have cereals and fruit salad

Good wifi (they use several networks for front and back of bldg). Helpful guys at front desk spoke decent English, carried luggage to my room.
location in easy walking distance of Plaza de Armas and San Pedro Mkt.
Heater in room worked great. Hot water in shower at all times. Comfortable bed made every day.
The location is up a light-to-moderate-grade hill from Plaza Armas; if the Cusco altitude really bothers you then maybe it's not the best for you, because you will be walking back that way at the end of every day.
The first room I was in used an old latch+padlock which was sometimes hard to manipulate to lock properly; would be nice if they upgraded the door to a modern lock.
You have to buzz to be let inside the front door by a front-office person; a few times the front-office person was not at the front desk so I'd have to wait a few minutes for them to return. Also the front office person has to open the front door so you can leave. Inconvenient but I guess it improves security.
Cash only, you cant use credit-card to pay for room.

It is more of a low-budget place, but everything was in order. Comfortable beds, got shower, enough space, decent location
The best of all was the staff, which was very helpful
Nothing in particular

The place looks really nice, an old house close to the Plaza de Armas, well maintained, clean. The breakfast was very good. Staff was nice and helpful. We also had a heating panel in our room, which seems to be a rarity in Cusco.
I'm sorry that we only spent one night here :) It was much better than our first accommodation, at a similar price.

Excellent staff, they immediately recognize you and make sure you are doing well. Great room and bathroom, heater works great. excellent water pressure and there was always hot water. Good breakfast.
It is a bit noisy because the floor creaks and you can hear the neighbors when they are leaving or arriving.

The staff were helpful and nice, even though they couldn’t offer us what we had originally booked. The room was large, comfortable and clean.
We had booked a room with two double beds (for a higher price) but at arrival they only ended up having a room with two single beds or one double. As the two double beds was the reason for booking this hostel this was quite disappointing. Also the hot water ran out quickly.
